6: Chapter 6 Beginner's Trial: You Must Kill Him
"RPG!!"
Boom—
[You have died, exiting the trial plane]
Where am I? What happened?
In the spacious room, Lin Fang opened his eyes abruptly. The pain radiating throughout his body caused him to curl up on the floor, soaked in cold sweat.
[Boss]
"I'm fine." Lin Fang gasped for air, struggling to sit on the chair. It took a long while for him to recover.
"Xiao Hei, pull up the surveillance footage."
The video began to play:
In the room, the young man looked at his right wrist, then seemed to confirm something. Suddenly, he closed his eyes, his body tensing straight, but within half a minute, he fell to the floor and began to convulse uncontrollably.
Is it a stream of consciousness? Lin Fang checked his body; there wasn't a single scratch, yet the pain was no illusion.
—Just now, he had been blown to death by a Rocket!
Involuntarily, he looked at the Black Watch on his right wrist. A faint glimmer flashed and vanished. It was 11:25 PM now. Should he go in again?
After hesitating for a second, Lin Fang's consciousness plunged into darkness.
Only a fool would feel fear!
[Entering trial plane]

[Plane arrival successful]
[Sole objective: Search for supplies, evacuate safely]
[Spacetime Package status: Idle]
[Remaining plunder points: 0]
[Evacuation countdown: 23:59:59]
The scene before his eyes brightened. In an instant, his nostrils were filled with the pungent smell of sulfur. Lin Fang didn't care about anything else; he lunged to the side like a starving dog, scrambling and rolling to get away.
—Whoosh
—Boom!
A Rocket exploded where he had just been, and the blasted earth and rocks rained down all around.
After a moment,
A tall figure appeared. His thick combat boots stepped onto the soil, bringing a heavy sense of oppression. He spoke in the U.S. language, "Where did he go?"
He paced for a moment before gradually walking away.
—
Under a dirt slope a few meters away,
Lin Fang lay prone for nearly half an hour. Only when he saw no further movement did he dare to carefully arch his body.
What met his eyes were a pair of large, rough palms. Touching his chin, he felt coarse stubble. Lin Fang reached into his crotch to make a final confirmation; it seemed he was no longer himself.
Where was this?
Lin Fang cautiously surveyed his surroundings. Beneath the tall palm trees, buildings were scattered everywhere, looking battle-worn and covered in bullet holes and scorch marks from artillery.
"Search for supplies and evacuate safely within 24 hours." Lin Fang muttered this, his breathing heavy. First, he needed to analyze his current situation.
One: He couldn't die, so this objective might be achievable.
Two: What are supplies, and what is the Spacetime Package?
Three: Figure out where this place is and how many enemies there are.
Lin Fang clenched his fists. The strength of this body was much greater than his own, which was a huge help. But this was the era of hot weapons; it would be best to find a gun first.
Feeling over his entire body, Lin Fang only found a dagger strapped to the outside of his calf. Holding it in his hand, it glinted with a cold light, the edge incredibly sharp.
Very good, starting with a knife—he was already getting the hang of it.
[Put M9 military dagger into Spacetime Package?]
[Note: Package will be lost upon death]
Lin Fang looked at the M9 military dagger in his hand in surprise. The second question seemed to have an answer—so this dagger counted as supplies.
Thump, thump—
The sound of footsteps suddenly coming from above made Lin Fang's heart jump wildly; his entire body froze instantly.
Fortunately, they didn't walk this way in the end. Lin Fang breathed a sigh of relief.
Suddenly,
"Surprise!"
A lowered voice rang out overhead,
Lin Fang looked up. A U.S. brute with a face full of flesh was squatting by the roadside, looking at him with eyes full of mockery.
Bang—
In the room, Lin Fang opened his blood-red eyes. The violent pain in his brain nearly drove him mad. He had been shot in the head.
[Boss, your condition is very poor. Preparing to call for rescue.]
"Quick..."
Lin Fang raised his hand to stop it, but the excruciating pain allowed him to only utter a few unintelligible syllables.
[Boss, I've added money to make them come faster.]
The little black cat lay on the screen, its tone anxious.
"Thanks to Brother Xiong for the two lollipops. Love you..."
When the ambulance stopped at the front door, Lin Tianxiong, who was on the second floor, didn't think much of it. But when he saw Lin Fang appear, he was so frightened that his soul nearly left his body. He threw aside the phone, which was still cooing softly, and dashed out.
"It's a misunderstanding. I'm fine now. I'll pay the fare as agreed." Lin Fang apologized to the two people who had gotten out of the vehicle.
"It's no trouble, it's best that nothing happened." The Doctor who came down smiled and spoke very politely, "Do you need us to check you?"
This was a famous wealthy district.
"No need."
Lin Fang waved his hand. The pain in his mind had mostly faded.
Just then, Lin Tianxiong came out, his expression serious. "Kid, what's broken?"
"Dad, I'm fine."
Lin Fang felt a toothache. Why did he wake him up? Now, a trip to the hospital was definitely unavoidable.
Sure enough,
"If you were really fine, you wouldn't have called an ambulance! Now go to the hospital and get checked out."
In the hospital, after a series of examinations, the Doctor's conclusion was that, except for low blood sugar, everything else was normal.
"What about the brain?" Lin Fang asked.
The Doctor on duty felt a bit strange hearing this, but still looked at the EEG in his hand again. After a moment, "No problem, everything is normal."
Perhaps he needed to do more detailed tests. Lin Fang frowned at the prompt on the Black Watch. This should be a protective mechanism; he didn't know when it would recover.
[Mental damage has reached the threshold. Cannot conduct plane exploration.]
Seeing that there was really no problem, Lin Tianxiong felt relieved and took him out for a late-night snack before returning home.
"Kid, go to sleep early, or take a leave of absence from your counselor tomorrow."
In the third-floor bedroom,
Lin Fang looked at the Black Watch and pondered, "Give me an M9 military dagger."
[Transaction error, insufficient base plunder points.]
Emmm... He couldn't exploit the information bug. Lin Fang summarized a rule for this Black Star trading: No matter what the transaction is, if he wants it to act, it costs at least 1000 plunder points.
But right now, his plunder points were zero. The method to obtain plunder points, Lin Fang was certain, was to obtain supplies during plane exploration. How many plunder points could that dagger be worth?
It was a pity he had died and hadn't brought it out.
He still had to continue exploring, but he definitely needed to show some improvement.
