577: This is my team
“Jiang Liu'er, you must understand one principle: ‘Even after a thousand days of doing good, it is still not enough; a single day of doing evil is more than enough.’ Hold onto kind thoughts, perform kind deeds, and your cultivation will have a direction! No matter where you go in the future or what Realm you reach, never forget this sentence, never!”
These were the words taught to Tang Seng in his childhood by his Master, Elder Faming of Jinshan Temple, who was also his savior.
He had kept that famous saying in mind from his youth until now, and even on the journey to the Western Heaven to obtain the scriptures, he often used it to instruct Sun Wukong and his other Disciples.
Compassionate Guanyin found these words very familiar. After a moment of thought and a quick calculation with her fingers, she couldn't help but smile bitterly: “So the story he told was actually true!”
Tang Ku knew that the story was certainly true; it was a story that Elder Faming of Jinshan Temple had personally experienced in his youth.
Elder Faming never became a Buddha or an Ancestor in his entire life, but he dedicated his whole life to spreading the Buddha Dharma and kind thoughts. In terms of merit, his achievements were far more dazzling than those of the so-called Buddhas and Bodhisattvas!
Although the development of this world was different from the original one, everything Elder Faming experienced in his youth should have been largely the same. The reason he became a great monk of his generation was significantly related to his experiences back then.
One story became the most powerful evidence to refute Bhaisajyaguru, and also the most direct evidence.
Elder Faming was neither a Buddha nor a Bodhisattva. Whether in terms of Buddha Dharma or cultivation, he could not compare to these immortals who had become Buddhas or Ancestors. However, his actions were far superior to those of these high and mighty people.
Even after Tang Ku finished telling the story, sixty or seventy percent of the Disciples of Western Buddhism felt a sense of shame and inferiority in their hearts.
“Tang Sanzang is truly too amazing... that silver tongue of his could talk a dead person back to life!”
Compassionate Guanyin shook her head with a helpless bitter smile. She knew that after Bhaisajyaguru was defeated, even if the members of the Buddhist school had more to say, none of them dared to step forward to debate the Buddha Dharma with him.
In terms of Aura, their own understanding of the Buddha Dharma, and their cognition of it, they had already embarked on completely different paths, and Tang Sanzang's path was undoubtedly the true, broad road to righteousness.
On the other hand, the Buddhist school, in order to preserve their strength, had actually used Reincarnation to retain their living forces, but in doing so, they had stolen the Opportunity for Rebirth that originally belonged to others. This action alone was selfish and self-interested, placing them in a lower tier.
To continue the debate would only cause greater cracks in their state of mind and cultivation; whether they could maintain their cultivation in the future would be another matter.
“Fellow Daoists of the Daoist school, you have also been watching from the sidelines for a long time. Do you have nothing to say?”
Compassionate Guanyin thought for a moment, then turned her head to look at the Heavenly Court side and asked in a deep voice.
Several bigwigs couldn't help but be slightly stunned. Grand Tutor Wen stroked his beard and said: “Is this kicking the ball back to us?”
“Otherwise, I think this looks like shifting the disaster onto others!”
Taiyi Relief-from-Suffering Heavenly Lord smiled bitterly and helplessly: “These monks have always been eloquent, but when they met Tang Sanzang, it was like meeting their natural nemesis. We on our side advocate for inaction and nature, so regarding eloquence... forgive me for being blunt, it would be more decent for us to just admit defeat!”
The Heavenly Court side instantly became noisy. Different factions had already started debating among themselves, arguing incessantly. The messy sounds in the air were like a large swarm of flies and mosquitoes buzzing around, but none of the Cultivators below dared to make a sound.
Are you kidding? The bigwigs are having a heated discussion; do you dare to make a peep? Aren't you afraid of being permanently expelled from the immortal registry?
Li Chengqian couldn't help but curl his lips and said disdainfully: “Discussing my ass! If you don't dare, you don't dare. At a time like this, you don't even dare to say a hard word. You really are a disgrace to the Heavenly Court!”
“My little ancestor, can you keep your voice down!”
The old Daoist hurriedly covered his mouth and said, “If they hear you, our future path to immortality will be in jeopardy!”
However, in the chaotic scene at the moment, basically no one could hear his words, which made the old Daoist breathe a sigh of relief.
“Tang Sanzang, when you were on your journey to the Western Heaven to obtain the scriptures, Guanyin had promised that your calls to Heaven would be answered and your calls to Earth would be effective. The Heavenly Court also repeatedly sent people down to the mortal world to help you. We upheld a thought of kindness and never sought this favor from you, so why are you being so aggressive?”
A voice hung above and slowly descended; it was none other than Heavenly King Li. At this moment, he did not have his pagoda in his hand, but that bearing still remained.
Tang Ku narrowed his eyes and said: “Long time no see, Heavenly King Li... although I do have quite a few opinions about you all, when have you ever seen me being aggressive?”
“Hmph, where did you trick my son Nezha into going? Since my Rebirth, I haven't seen him until now. You... did you take him into your sect?”
Li Jing said angrily.
“Heaven and Earth are my witness!”
Tang Ku spread his hands and said: “He is obsessed with scientific research, and his cultivation is currently advancing by leaps and bounds. I have no intention of taking him as a Disciple of the Buddhist school. Besides, with his personality, he really isn't suitable to be a monk!”
Li Jing said: “Then where is he?”
Just as Tang Ku was about to speak, he suddenly pointed behind him and said: “Look, isn't he coming!”
Li Jing was immediately furious: “Stop trying to scare me. Spouting nonsense, can you even count as a monk?”
“Father, what are you going to do to the Holy Monk? To tell you the truth, the Holy Monk saved my life. If you dare to make a move... hehe, the Fire Tipped Spear in my hand doesn't recognize anyone!”
A cold voice came from behind Li Jing, causing the old king to stop breathing for a moment.
He stiffly turned around and saw a row of people standing behind him. Among these people, some he recognized, and some he did not, but each one had an extraordinary Aura. He was especially focused on his son. He saw Nezha holding the Fire Tipped Spear and stepping on the Wind Fire Wheels. Nezha was still that same Nezha, but the Aura on his body had already easily surpassed his own by a level.
“When did this child acquire such might? Wait... wait, this is... this is the power of Law? This kid has actually mastered the power of Law?”
Li Jing finally saw clearly. After scanning the group, he discovered that this group of people who had just appeared all possessed the power of Law, and their understanding of Law was far stronger than his, who had just started.
Tang Ku was also sizing up everyone at this moment, and couldn't help but nod secretly in his heart: “This team is much stronger than the previous one... Uh, but, who is that little girl with pigtails?”
Sure enough, in the crowd, a girl over a meter tall, looking like a doll, with pigtails, chewing on a chicken leg, was staring blankly at Tang Ku. Then she suddenly revealed a strange smile and said to Tang Ku: “I'll only say three sentences... hehe, you haven't forgotten me, have you!”
Tang Ku was immediately dumbfounded: “Damn... you're a girl?”
