Chapter 224 - Bella Got Emotional

The silence that followed Viktor’s words was absolute.Then—

Bella moved.

Her whole body trembled violently, the white robe Mira had given her shaking as she stood frozen in place. Her yellow cat eyes—wide, glassy, overflowing—stared at Viktor’s back. He stood there, his hand still raised from where he’d let the torn contract pieces flutter to the floor.

Her voice broke.

Bella launched herself at him.

Kaida, who’d been watching the whole display with an unreadable expression, clicked her tongue as she was angry even though knowing Bella was a slave, but seeing that contract just pissed her off.

’I will fucking kill that bitch... what was it... yeah, Elena.’ She pushed her chair back. The legs scraped loudly against the floor as she recalled the name she saw on that contract.

Her red eyes shifted—landing on Elara, who was ’still’ sprawled on the floor like she’d forgotten how to stand.

Kaida moved. Her boots thudded against the wooden floor as she crossed the room. She stopped directly in front of Elara, arms crossed, looking down at the noblewoman with something between pity and... irritation?

Elara blinked up at her. "I—what—"

"You gonna sit there all day?" Kaida’s voice was flat. "Get up."

"I... I don’t..." Elara’s amber eyes darted between Kaida and Viktor—who was still holding Bella—then to Helena, who stood nearby wringing her hands. "What is ’happening’ here?"

It was not that Elara had gotten her brain cells evaporated but rather that she was shocked by the fact that he let go of a slave just like that, especially given he was a pervert engaged in debauchery in this breeding grounds of a manor. (Yeah, she got too much misunderstanding in a right way.)

Kaida didn’t answer. Instead, her gaze lingered on Elara’s face. Studied her.
