4: G617 Resistance Post

Lin Ye retracted his gaze from the magnificent spatial orbits that spanned the sky, gaining another layer of understanding about how this world operated.

His sight slowly swept across the chaotic plaza, and soon, he was drawn to a distinctive area at the edge of the plaza.

It was a circular area, roughly several hundred square meters, with the ground also paved with special metal, but its color was a soft milky white.

In the center of the area stood a peculiar platform about ten meters high, made of solidified light, emanating a reassuringly sacred aura.

Upon the platform, countless intricate and profound runes were inscribed, slowly flowing as if alive. White specks of light occasionally escaped from the runes and merged into the air.

Even from a distance, Lin Ye could feel the strange energy fluctuations emanating from that platform—a combination of pure life energy and some unknown rule.

"Could it be... this is..." A thought flashed through his mind.

He focused his mind, once again activating his Truth Sequence talent, locking onto the peculiar milky-white platform.

The familiar analysis process completed instantly, and a stream of information poured into his consciousness:

[Target: Resurrection Altar (Area-bound)]

[Function: Reshapes the bodies of deceased players and restores their basic life characteristics. Only effective for designated players within the novice protection period and advanced trial period.]

[Core Technology: ??? (law barrier)]

[Main Constituent Materials: ??? (law barrier)]

Lin Ye frowned slightly as he looked at the information that popped up in his vision.

Previously, when analyzing the spatial orbits, although the technical terms were profound and the materials unheard of, at least clear directions were given. However, for this "Resurrection Altar," the core technology and constituent materials columns were completely blocked.

"A law barrier, huh..." Lin Ye murmured to himself, understanding.

"As expected of myriad realms hegemony, a creation directly involving its core rule operation. Even an EX-grade Truth Sequence cannot fully see through it."

This deepened his awe of myriad realms hegemony. It could not only forcibly pull all of humanity into this world, establish rules of life and Death, but also create miraculous constructs that even his EX-grade talent couldn't analyze.

It seemed there was still a long way to go to truly understand the underlying logic of this world.

Just as Lin Ye was pondering, the cold, emotionless mechanical synthetic voice once again resonated throughout the plaza, simultaneously transmitted into the minds of every newcomer:

[Area ownership confirmed.]

[All new personnel of G617 Resistance Post, your current full area coordinates are: First Star Domain Alliance - Blue Star Civilization Circle - G617 Resistance Post - Aita Administrative District - Recruit Registration Plaza.]

[Please proceed to the central reception desk as soon as possible to learn about the basic situation of this Resistance Post and collect initial supplies.]

"First Star Domain Alliance... Blue Star Civilization Circle..." Lin Ye silently noted down this new designation.

It turned out that Earth, or rather human civilization, was called the "Blue Star Civilization" on this broader cosmic scale, and the G617 Resistance Post was merely a node within this Blue Star Civilization Circle, subordinate to a larger "First Star Domain Alliance."

This information undoubtedly revealed another tip of the iceberg of this world, hinting at a cosmic structure far grander and more complex than he had imagined.

After hearing the announcement, a brief commotion in the plaza subsided, and the instinct for survival began to override the initial panic. Some quick-witted or braver individuals had already started moving towards the vaguely visible reception desk in the center of the plaza.

After all, the prospect of receiving initial supplies was fatally attractive to them, who were empty-handed and faced an uncertain future.

Meanwhile, on the top floor of the tallest command tower at the edge of the plaza, in front of wide, one-way floor-to-ceiling windows.

A middle-aged man in a sharp dark blue military uniform, with golden star insignia on his shoulders, stood with his hands behind his back. His face was resolute, and his eyes were deep. He quietly overlooked the crowd below, surging into the reception desk like a tide.

He was Major General Gao Zhiyuan, the Military Commander of the G617 Resistance Post's Aita District.

"Reporting, sir, all 'Undead' in this batch have been teleported. A total of three hundred seventy-five thousand two hundred sixty-one people," a young adjutant, also in military uniform, respectfully reported behind him.

Gao Zhiyuan nodded slightly, his voice low: "Another batch of Undead has arrived. Time truly flies." His gaze slowly swept over the human compatriots below, who were still bewildered but starting to move, a hint of undetectable fatigue and heaviness in his eyes.

"I hope... a true powerhouse can emerge this time," he sighed. "Currently, our G617 District is finding it increasingly difficult to resist those alien races. Those monsters... they evolve too quickly, and their numbers are too great."

The adjutant's face also showed a trace of worry: "The pressure on the front lines is indeed increasing, and our conventional troop casualty rate continues to rise. If we can rely on the characteristics of the 'Undead,' we should have an easier time later."

"Yes, 'Undead'..." Gao Zhiyuan repeated the term, his eyes complex. "They possess nearly infinite life, an advantage that we natives cannot compare with."

"It's just a pity that most people squandered this advantage in the first three years, getting used to the cheapness of Death. Very few truly grow. And once the five-year period arrives, when Death becomes real... that will be their true test."

He paused, then continued: "What we can do now is provide them with a relatively safe initial environment and some assistance within our capabilities. As for how far they can go, that depends on their individual fortunes."

The adjutant nodded in silence. He also understood that these mysteriously appearing compatriots were both the hope for the continuation of human civilization and, to some extent, consumables in this cruel war.

Gao Zhiyuan's gaze remained fixed below, scrutinizing the newcomers like a hawk, trying to find some unique qualities in them.

His gaze inadvertently swept past a young figure standing quietly at the edge of the plaza.

It was a young man with black hair and black eyes. Compared to the surrounding people, who were either rushing towards the center or still somewhat at a loss, he appeared exceptionally calm and composed. He didn't immediately follow the crowd but observed his surroundings unhurriedly, his eyes clear and focused, as if analyzing something.

The moment Gao Zhiyuan's gaze fell upon him, the young man seemed to sense it, turning his head slightly and looking towards the top floor of the tall building from a great distance, his gaze seemingly penetrating the one-way glass.

Immediately after, under Gao Zhiyuan's slightly surprised gaze, the young man's lips curled into a subtle, meaningful smile.

The smile was faint, yet it carried a sense of understanding that saw through everything and an inexplicable confidence.

Gao Zhiyuan's eyebrow twitched almost imperceptibly, a hint of surprise flashing in his mind: "Oh? An interesting little fellow."

Perhaps, there might indeed be a surprise in this batch of "Undead."

Lin Ye retracted his gaze, and the smile on his lips also faded. He didn't know the specific identity or thoughts of the person in the tall building, but with the extraordinary intuition brought by Miracle Law and the keen perception granted by his Mechanical Intelligence talent, he could vaguely sense the scrutiny and expectation contained in that gaze.

"It seems the administrator of this Resistance Post isn't just a simple NPC," he mused inwardly.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Ye no longer lingered and began to walk towards the bustling recruit reception desk in the center of the plaza.
