180: Chapter 179 Dragon Remains

On the third deck of the warship, in a spacious cabin.

Huo Qingfeng was sitting in front of a wooden table, on which a palm-sized bronze mirror was placed.

The bronze mirror was pale cyan throughout, its surface as smooth as a mirror, and the frame was engraved with dense runic patterns, with faint spiritual light flowing through each line.

Communication Mirror.

It was a Magical Artifact for communication issued by the Dragon Abyss Palace to Inner Sect Disciples, capable of transmitting images and sounds within a thousand miles.

Huo Qingfeng took a deep breath, raised his hand, and brushed it across the mirror surface.

The light on the mirror surface flickered slightly, and then a figure appeared.

It was an old man in grey robes with a thin face and three strands of long beard fluttering in front of his chest. He was none other than the Duty Hall's duty Elder—Wu Yong.

"Huo Qingfeng?" Wu Yong raised an eyebrow slightly. "Task completed? So quickly?"

"Completed, but not entirely completed." Huo Qingfeng said in a deep voice. "Elder Wu, I want to file a complaint."

Wu Yong was stunned: "A complaint?"

"Yes." Huo Qingfeng took a deep breath and recounted everything that happened on Black Stone Island exactly as it occurred.

From discovering the Blood Puppets upon landing on the island, to the fierce battle against the Blood Bone Venerable at the altar, to that demon fusing with the jiaolong remains to transform into a hundred-zhang Bone Dragon, to the final arrival of Xu Zhaoyang from the Sea Quelling Department, who settled the matter with a single blow.

He spoke in great detail, especially regarding the part about the jiaolong remains—those dragon scales, dragon bones, dragon marrow, and that half of a dragon head.

"...That jiaolong was a great demon of the Dongxuan Realm in its lifetime! It died three thousand years ago, and its remains were sealed on the seabed by the power of the earth veins! That Blood Bone Venerable only dug out a portion, and most of it is still buried in the seabed fissure!"

Huo Qingfeng's voice grew louder and louder. "Elder Wu, for such a task, the intelligence only labeled it as an 'Initial Stage of Yuanxiang demon'? Is this damn thing an Initial Stage of Yuanxiang? That demon could fuse with the jiaolong remains and briefly step into the Jiaotai Realm! If it weren't for Xu Zhaoyang arriving in time, all six of us would have died there!"

Wu Yong's expression finally changed.

"jiaolong remains?" His voice was low. "Are you sure?"

"Sure!" Huo Qingfeng said decisively. "I saw it with my own eyes! Those dragon scales, that half of a dragon head, and that section of the spine—each piece radiated Dragon might! The people from the Sea Quelling Department have already sealed those remains and are on their way back to the Sea Quelling Department!"

Wu Yong was silent for three breaths.

Then he asked: "Did you bring anything back? Even just a single dragon scale would do."

Huo Qingfeng's mouth twitched: "No. The people from the Sea Quelling Department watched them closely; they didn't even let us touch them. Those remains were all taken away by them."

Wu Yong's brows furrowed even tighter.

He pondered for a moment and said slowly: "I know about this matter now. You return to the palace first; I will report the matter of contribution points to the higher-ups. As for those jiaolong remains—"

He paused, a glint of light flashing in his eyes.

"The Dragon Abyss Palace will not sit idly by."

As the words fell, the light on the mirror flashed, and the call ended.

Huo Qingfeng stared at the Communication Mirror, stunned for a long time, then slammed the table hard: "That's more like it!"

Meanwhile.

Dragon Abyss Palace, Red Fire Peak.

In Lihuo Hall, Master Xue Mu was sitting cross-legged on a prayer mat, holding a communication Jade Slip in his hand.

Inside the Jade Slip was the message sent by Wu Yong of the Duty Hall.

After reading it, he was silent for a long time.

Then, he smiled.

The smile was meaningful.

"jiaolong remains..." He murmured in a low voice. "A jiaolong of the Dongxuan Realm, dead for three thousand years, its remains still sealed by the power of the earth veins..."

He stood up, walked to the window, and looked at the churning sea of clouds in the distance.

"That kid really has Luck."

He turned around, took out another communication Jade Slip, and probed it with his Divine Sense.

"Junior Sister Yuheng."

His voice sounded from within the Jade Slip.

"You should have heard about the matter on Black Stone Island. The Sea Quelling Department has already taken away those jiaolong remains. But our Dragon Abyss Palace cannot just watch idly. You are familiar with the Sea Quelling Department, go and negotiate."

He paused and continued:

"Tell them that the Dragon Abyss Palace is willing to exchange ten dragon blood pills, a Heaven Rank True Intent Cultivation Technique, and thirty years of usage rights to the earth fire of Red Fire Peak for those remains."

"Especially that half of a dragon head—the dragon marrow inside is of great use to our Dragon Blood Pool."

"Let them name their price."

As the words fell, the light on the Jade Slip flashed and it streaked away from Red Fire Peak.

Master Xue Mu stood by the window with his hands behind his back, watching the receding Jade Slip, the smile on his lips growing thicker.

"jiaolong remains, Dragon Blood Pool..."

"If this can be negotiated, that kid will have another great Opportunity."

The warship sailed forward, breaking through the waves.

Jiang Hanzhou stood on the deck, the sea breeze brushing against his face, blowing his sleeves.

The setting sun had completely sunk below the horizon, replaced by a sky full of stars, as brilliant as diamonds.

He closed his eyes, sensing the Heart Blade quietly floating in the depths of his Sea of Consciousness.

The dark golden blade body, the winding dragon-like patterns, and the flash of cold light at the edge of the blade—

That was his blade.

Using the heart as the furnace, the spirit as the fire, and the dragon soul as the bone.

From now on, he not only had the tiger soul saber, a physical spirit weapon, but also the Heart Blade, a blade of the Divine Soul.

The two complemented each other and would surely exert unimaginable effects in future battles.

He opened his eyes and looked toward the lights gradually appearing on the horizon where the sea met the sky.

That was the direction of the Dragon Abyss Palace.

In another three hours, he would arrive.

He took a deep breath and turned to walk towards the cabin.

This night was destined to be sleepless.
