Chapter 208: Death Flash.

Leo and Kyle were moving through the streets and their guns were emitting puff sounds as soon as they spotted an enemy. Suddenly, Kyle tapped on Leo’s shoulder, and then the two of them turned right, heading inside a door. The place was brightly lit on the inside, and they had to turn off their night vision, which left them a little disorientated.

Leo checked around quickly and Kyle said, "Clear!"

However, just then Leo fired three bullets at the wooden wall and then they did a room to room, killing five men who were gathering their weapons. Leo spotted some women were also there, but their eyes were devoid of emotions. Kyle aimed at them and Leo waved his hand and said, "They cannot harm us, these bastards broke their spirits."

Then he pressed the communicator on his neck and asked, "Sit Rep, Team A, found three females, in shock. Be advised, not to kill innocents."

The other five teams replied, "Copy that, Squad Leader."

The gunfight began once more, Leo shot the enemy moving through the streets and he reloaded his weapon. Kyle was shocked to see this performance, even he wasn’t sure that something like this would happen, Leo could make out the presence of a human from minute sound and dull shadows.

Kyle asked while they were reaching closer to the center, "Sir, how can you see the shadows?"

Leo replied, "Squint your eyes before approaching a corner, and you would notice."

Kyle nodded and the onslaught continued, however, since they were getting closer to the center and the firing rate was high. A sentry picked up their actions and they sounded the alert alarm through out the twenty acre settlement.

Leo clicked his tongue and said, "Fuck! Who fucked up? Regroup, form two teams of six, and watch your backs."



They reported their positions and began to move from cover to cover, the enemy was shooting at them as if there was no tomorrow. Leo and Kyle were ducking and tossing back the grenades being thrown at them as well.

The reason Leo instructed for two teams of six was to make sure that the enemy does not fire a big ammunition round and settle them all. They moved quickly and made their way to the regroup point, and found that one of the guys had been injured. Leo knelt down beside the man as the rest of the people fired at the enemy, and after a quick check, he took out the bandage pack from his waist belt and then placed one quick-apply bandage on the shoulder, as he said, "Grit it, I’ll give you morphine."

He took out a small vial of transparent liquid with a needle at the front. Then he injected the content next to the wound and said, "You have two hours before you will need another dose. Don’t try to fight, just make sure you cover our six."

The man nodded with a fighting spark in his eyes, and then Leo raised his head and took aim. Bullets flew through the void like meteors surfing at the edge of the atmosphere. Leo fired with optimal accuracy, eight out of his ten shots were meeting the targets on the other end.

He was quick, and targeted the crucial area where the enemy had tactical advantage. The rest of the buggers were taken out by the four people. After a few minutes, Leo said, "Advance."

They began to fight and advance simultaneously, and the injured guy did his job of covering the rear. It was a nightmare, within a few minutes, they have whizzed through half of their ammunition but thankfully the enemy had a similar caliber gun so they could salvage a lot of magazines from the fallen corpses and then they moved through the blood stained streets.

Suddenly, Leo heard someone yelling in the distance, "Hold the line! You motherfuckers, hold it and they will run out of ammo!"

Leo made the fist signal and the charge of his team stopped. He looked at the back, and found a sniper rifle hanging from Bosco’s shoulder, and he said, "Bosco, give me the long barrel."

The young man took the sniper rifle and then quickly took a position. The surroundings were lit enough for him to see what was going on. Leo took a covered stance, and then looked for the person who was driving the crowd against him. After a few moments, he found the target. It was a man standing surrounded by some guards. He tweaked with the scope and then he squeezed the trigger.

The sniper rifles spewed fire and the bullet came whooshing out of the barrel as it flew through the void and then it tore through the head of the target. Leo quickly lowered the gun and used his comms as he said, "Markus, fucking shoot to kill, and salvage the ammo, go loud if you need to, fucking remember why we are here."

Markus seemed to have woken up, and with Leo taking out the commander of the guards, the battle began to pick up pace once more. The blood from the enemy was now forming puddles in the spots they fell. Leo commanded his team tightly and they moved like a sword through water.

The injured soldier, Harvey, was doing a good job of taking out any remnants that came at them from the back. Leo nodded to the man and he commended the people on his side, whenever they took out a tricky enemy, it was as if his eyes were everywhere. It was as if he could see who was firing and where it was going.

This surprised the team but kept their morale high. After half an hour, the sounds of bullets had reduced and they were close to the center where the main enemy was located. It was a villa, and the windows were guarded tightly. Markus tried to move closer but he was then given a warm welcome bullet shower.

Leo signalled him to come back and then took out his smoke grenades. He made a few hand gestures and the people nodded to each other before the smoke was tossed outside and after the streets at the front of the villa were covered with smoke, Leo moved with his team. They didn’t move through the front but the back, because the people turned alert when the smoke bombs were thrown.

Leo gave the signal and he charged forward with Markus beside him and they took out the surprised men on the windows, while Kyle and Bosco made a run for the door, and after a quick move they were inside the Villa.

Just when they were about to charge forward, Leo yelled, "Stop!"

The two men stopped and Leo came over before he pointed out a tripwire and a claymore placed beside the door. Kyle and Bosco were shocked, and just when they were about to take action and diffuse the traps, Markus tossed in a grenade, and they all took cover behind the walls outside, and Boom.

With the entry traps disabled, Leo and moved in and his people began to kill all and any men who came over from any side. All the people inside this room had a weapon that was being aimed at them, thus none of them were spared. After clearing the ground floor, they didn’t find any sign of Anton Greeves, Markus frowned and asked, "Do you think he took off?"

Leo shook his head and replied with a finger pointed up on the ceiling. The intent was simple, that the target was hiding upstair. The team moved upstairs, but they had a hard time even reaching the top, because the enemy had set up a medium machine gun there, if they were to force the movement they would certainly die.

Leo took his last grenade and then removed the pin and let go of the hook. The people were shocked, and then Leo threw the grenade against the wall with his full strength. Everyone watched as the nade bounced off the wall and then it reached position where the machine gun was mounted, and while it was two meters away from the position it exploded, in the air.

Boom!



Leo said, "Charge!"

Then he moved and reached the top of the stairs where he found the shredded body of the machine gunner spread on the floor, and his supporters were in a daze, then he raised his weapon and began to fire at the people really quickly. His team followed, the clearing action of the floor was easier than before, and after all of this, they had only one room left to check.

Leo looked at the metallic door, and he said, "Mister Greeves, I know you can see us, please come out on your own, or I will make sure that you don’t die even if you want to."

He made a signal to his people and they all slowly moved around the room and aimed at the walls. He said, "I will count to three, the choice is yours."

Leo opened his mouth and said, "Three."

The first floor of the villa thundered and the people rained bullets on the walls, before Leo picked up his gun and fired at the hinges of the door, and took them out after four clips. Then he stepped up and kicked the door out of his way, and found Anton Greeves wearing a bomb jacket and holding a dead man’s switch in his hand. The latter smiled and asked, "Did you think it would be that easy to catch me?"

Leo and Markus were shocked, then Leo smiled as he lowered his gun and said, "Well, I really didn’t expect this. What do you want?"

Anton chuckled and said, "I like this docile action of yours, for count I want your wife to suc..."

Before he could finish his words, Leo appeared before him, grabbed Anton’s wrist and broke it with a strong clench, and that was it, Anton Greeves was taken down. Leo said, "Markus, do what you want, but don’t kill him. Also, get ready to hit the road, it is getting late the sun is about to come up."

The man nodded and Leo walked to the side and watched what Markus would do.
