569: Spacetime layering

This time, even Elder Zhao and Elder Sun, who had always remained calm, could not help but exclaim out loud.

The chaos green lotus was a supreme holy object born at the beginning of the creation of the world, existing only in the most ancient legends!

Its lotus root was an even greater treasure, containing the vitality of creation and the Origin of Chaos; it had long since become a lost relic following the disappearance of the chaos green lotus!

Moreover, this person was actually Ye Xuan, the Ziwei Star Lord, the first person to touch the dao source Realm.

This time, there were no other thoughts in their hearts; after all, if they truly angered Ye Xuan, he could likely obliterate them completely with a mere wave of his hand.

Young Palace Master took a few deep breaths, barely calming his shocked state of mind.

The look in his eyes as he gazed at Ye Xuan had changed from initial hostility to a mixture of awe and reverence.

To be able to pursue a legendary object like the chaos green lotus, and to be able to travel with Ye Xuan, was itself an unimaginable Opportunity!

"Senior Ye Xuan."

Young Palace Master's form of address changed quietly, and his tone became much more respectful.

"Since that is the case, this Junior is willing to lead the way for Senior."

Ye Xuan nodded slightly. "Very well."

The Big Dipper Star Palace's Starship fleet set off once again.

The journey that followed was much calmer.

Ye Xuan appeared casual, but in reality, the invisible Chaos Domain around him was quietly smoothing out the overly violent spacetime ripples near the fleet, making the Starship travel much more steadily.

After about two hours, a slightly different scene finally appeared in the depths of the Chaos nebula ahead.

It was a small island floating on a dark silver sea of the water of the time abyss.

Though called a small island, it was actually more like a star fragment so huge it was unimaginable, covered in pits and cracks, with an entirely dark, gray-green color.

Around the island, space was relatively stable, forming a visible, transparent barrier that kept out the violent spacetime turbulence and the water of the time abyss.

On the island, one could vaguely see the outlines of some broken buildings, with a style that was ancient and strange, certainly not belonging to any current race.

In some places, there were even weak yet heart-palpitating energy fluctuations emanating.

"We have finally arrived at Sunken Star Island."

Young Palace Master gazed at the island ahead, blazing light erupting in his eyes.

Elder Zhao and Elder Sun were also visibly excited.

Ye Xuan's gaze, however, bypassed the ruins on the island's surface and was cast in a certain direction deep within the island.

There, he sensed a trace of chaos qi that was extremely weak yet incomparably pure, faintly resonating with the Dao within his own body.

The chaos green lotus root was very likely there.

"Let's go."

Ye Xuan nodded at Yue Xuan.

Stepping onto Sunken Star Island, that pure chaos qi originating from the depths of the island became increasingly clear.

Yue Xuan followed closely behind, her cold gaze sweeping over the surrounding broken and ancient ruins, as if some dust-laden fragments in her eyes were loosening.

They paid no heed to the Big Dipper Star Palace, heading straight towards the area to the west that was buried under larger-scale ruins.

The further west they went, the more obvious the distortion of spacetime became.

The light became dim and uncertain; the surrounding broken walls and ruins were sometimes clear, sometimes as if separated by a layer of blur, and the air was filled with a strange power that could slow down one's thoughts.

Even more eerily, faint, intermittent whispers began to appear in their ears, like the voices of ancient priests.

"Be careful, the spacetime layering here is very thick; certain intense events that happened in the past have left deep imprints."

Yue Xuan's voice rang out in Ye Xuan's Sea of Consciousness, carrying a hint of gravity she herself had not noticed.

"Do not actively listen to or gaze at those overly clear echoes, or you might be pulled into a brief spacetime flashback fragment, or even disrupt your own perception of time."

Ye Xuan nodded slightly, the chaos qi around his body acting like an invisible film, isolating those chaotic spacetime ripples and Soul whispers.

Passing through a plaza built of huge square stones that had now mostly collapsed, a magnificent hall half-buried in the ground appeared ahead.

The dome of the hall was already damaged, revealing the twisted Chaos nebula behind it, but the thick stone gate, ten zhang high, was miraculously intact and tightly closed. The gate was engraved with extremely intricate reliefs of intertwined stars and vegetation, with a blurry pattern of a lotus flower surrounded by chaos qi in the center.

That wisp of pure chaos qi was emanating from behind this tightly closed stone gate.

"This is it."

Ye Xuan stopped in front of the stone gate.

Yue Xuan took a few steps forward, gazing at the reliefs on the stone gate, especially the Chaos lotus in the center, a violent fluctuation flashing in her cold eyes.

She reached out with her fair, white fingers, uncontrollably stroking the patterns of the lotus flower.

"This pattern, I have seen it, no..."

She murmured softly, her tone filled with pain.

Her body trembled slightly, the hazy moonlight around her suddenly becoming flickering and unstable, and her Qi beginning to fluctuate.

Ye Xuan glanced at her but did not disturb her.

He could feel that something long-dormant within Yue Xuan was being awakened by this pattern.

This was perhaps the very reason she had insisted on coming along.

He cast his gaze toward the stone gate.

The gate was Sealed by an extremely sophisticated spacetime Restriction.

The Restriction was faintly connected to the spacetime of the entire Sunken Star Island and even the power of the water of the time abyss below, forming an integrated whole; forcibly breaking it could trigger the collapse of the entire island's spacetime.

"It requires the correct key, or one must use their own Dao to understand and integrate into the spacetime rhythm of this Restriction."

Ye Xuan muttered to himself.

He closed his eyes, his vast Divine Sense carefully perceiving every minute fluctuation of the stone gate's Restriction.

Time passed bit by bit.

Yue Xuan remained immersed in that trance-like state, her fingers unconsciously tracing the lotus relief.

Ye Xuan, like a stone statue, stood quietly in front of the gate.

After about the time it takes to burn an incense stick, Ye Xuan suddenly opened his eyes, a Chaos galaxy swirling within them.

He traced several extremely ancient Chaos runes in the Void Realm.

As soon as these few runes appeared, they produced a strong resonance with the star and vegetation reliefs on the stone gate!

The lines on the reliefs seemed to come alive; the stars began to rotate, the vegetation began to grow, and the Chaos lotus in the center bloomed with a hazy, clear radiance!

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The heavy stone gate opened, revealing a deep, dusty staircase extending downward behind it.

A wave of chaos qi, more than ten times richer than outside the gate, mixed with the vicissitudes of ages and a sacred sorrow, rushed towards them.

The gate was open.

Yue Xuan also awoke from her trance-like state. Looking at the open stone gate, her eyes complex and unfathomable, she said softly, "I seem to have remembered some things; this place has something to do with me."

"We will know once we go in."

Ye Xuan stepped in first.

Yue Xuan took a deep breath, suppressing the churning thoughts in her heart, and followed closely behind.

The staircase was long and winding, extending downwards, not knowing where it led in the depths of the earth.

There were sporadic murals on the walls on both sides, mostly mottled, and one could only barely make out that they seemed to depict a scene of numerous living beings worshiping a sky-supporting lotus flower, full of sanctity and harmony.
