93: Chapter 93 Under the Protection of the Golden Tower

In the Inner City.

A Gold Rank squad was coordinating a defensive position centered around a gold-level crystal core tower.

Dealing with ordinary Gold Rank ferocious beasts could be considered a piece of cake.

Even with the Gold Rank crystal core cannons currently attacking the horde of ferocious beasts beneath the main city frantically.

The remaining combat power was sufficient to kill Gold Rank ferocious beasts.

However, this force that was clearly capable of suppressing Gold Rank beings was being humiliated by a Silver-rank Raven Flock!

Among the eleven Silver Rank team members, eight of their main Pet Beasts were ground units.

Their combat power was perfectly capable of killing Silver-rank Ravens.

But those Ravens were circling high in the sky, completely out of reach.

Any Raven that dove down was just Bronze Rank cannon fodder.

Their dives were not even attacks.

Their sole purpose was to release Ink Feather to shroud the crystal core tower.

To put it bluntly, they were here to die.

Therefore, it made no difference whether or not they killed the diving Ravens.

Yet, they couldn't hit the ones that actually needed to be killed.

Those three Silver Rank members also tried to coordinate their Pet Beasts to kill the Ravens at high altitude, but once they charged up.

Ten Silver-rank Ravens would coordinate with a hundred Bronze Ravens to besiege them.

Qin Ce had the most say on how excellent the Ravens' siege tactics were.

Therefore, those three Pet Beasts could only flee in a sorry state in the end.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

As one Bronze Raven after another dove to their deaths.

Layers of Ink Feather Mist bombarded the golden tower over and over again.

The gradually thickening black mist was adhering to and seeping into the body of the golden tower bit by bit.

Qin Ce could see that the originally stable runic light on the tower's body had already begun to flicker.

Occasionally, there would be faint "zapping" sounds and tiny sparks; those were signs that the electrical power was being interfered with.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

The Gold Rank captain cursed through gritted teeth.

He could not leave the control console.

The golden tower required him to continuously input energy to maintain its operation; once he let go, the tower's attacks would stop, and they wouldn't be able to suppress the front line.

Now, because of the Raven King's sabotage, three towers had already developed problems.

The advantage they had just established on the main city battlefield was being lost bit by bit.

However, if he didn't deal with it, the Ravens would keep draining them like this.

He could only watch helplessly as those Ravens extinguished this tower bit by bit.

Advancing was impossible, and retreating was not an option either.

It made him feel incredibly frustrated.

"Boss, what do we do?!" a team member shouted anxiously.

"How the hell would I know!" the captain roared, "All of my power is tied to this tower!"

"You don't have Gold Rank power, so you can't replace me!"

"Damn it, doesn't a single city defense weapon have a capture net function?"

"If we could net those feathered beasts down, anyone could beat them to death."

He cut himself off mid-sentence.

Because he saw a cyan shadow launch into the sky from the roof of a building behind the tower at an extremely high speed.

It shot straight up like a cloud-piercing arrow!

The captain looked closely and realized it was a large, cyan-green bird with a wingspan of over eight meters.

On the bird's back sat a young man wearing a Battle Academy uniform.

His rank was actually Bronze Rank!

The captain was stunned for half a second.

What was a greenhorn Bronze Rank kid doing here?

Seeking death?

"Hey! Kid! It's dangerous here, get out of here!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.

But the young man ignored him.

He just stared fixedly at the Ravens high in the sky.

After observing for so long, he had fully understood the predicament the golden tower was facing.

What a coincidence.

The high altitude was his advantageous battlefield!

The Qingluan's climbing speed was incredibly fast!

Coupled with its color, which was similar to the sky, it was like a wisp of cyan smoke, charging directly beneath the Raven Flock without attracting any attention!

"This speed isn't right; is this a speed a Bronze Rank can have?"

The captain was a bit bewildered, but what happened next shocked him even more.

He saw that after the cyan bird approached the Raven Flock.

A Wind Blade shot out, slicing a Raven of the same rank in half!

Then, it turned around to face a peak Bronze Raven that was closing in.

It spat out a net-like Wind element skill.

Afterward, the captain's eyes widened.

The Raven, which was clearly two minor ranks higher, was wrapped in the wind net.

It actually burst into a large amount of blood mist.

Then, bound by a Wind element restraint, it fell from the sky!

This...

Isn't this exactly the capture net function he was just dreaming of?

This kid is capable!

But what about those Silver-rank Ravens?

"Zhang Hong, Zhou Han, Yang Qiong, hurry and fly your flying Pet Beasts up to protect him."

"This kid can handle the Bronze Raven Flock!"

"Those Silver-rank Ravens..."

The next moment, the captain and the other team members witnessed what could only be called dreamlike footwork.

Ten Silver-rank Ravens were hunting and attacking in a crisscrossing formation.

In front of that cyan shadow, it was as if they were performing a choreographed dance.

They all brushed past the cyan shadow.

The ten Silver-rank Ravens failed to inflict even a single bit of damage on the cyan shadow.

This stood in stark contrast to his three teammates who had been humiliated and driven down by the Raven Flock earlier.

Is Silver Rank actually worse than Bronze Rank?

Is this for real?

But it wasn't over yet.

What left them even more dumbfounded was.

After these ten Ravens launched a round of attacks.

A tail formed from Wind element energy appeared behind the cyan shadow.

Before, when Qin Ce was infiltrating the Inner City, he had dispersed his phoenix tail because he was afraid the energy fluctuations of the Phoenix Flow would alert the high-level ferocious beasts in the Inner City.

Now, after some fighting.

A phoenix tail formed once again.

Then, when this Phoenix Flow was absorbed into the Qingluan's body.

And formed a Silver Rank Spider-Web Wind Blade that covered the Silver-rank Ravens attacking for the second time.

A scene that left everyone in the squad speechless occurred.

That Bronze Rank kid's attack had actually caught the Silver-rank Ravens!

The Wind element restraint actually bound the Silver Rank ferocious beast and sent it falling straight from the sky.

Bronze... Silver...

A Bronze Rank had accomplished what they wanted to do but couldn't.

This... am I still dreaming?

Until. With a bang.

The Silver-rank Raven landed not far from them, and only then did they believe their eyes hadn't deceived them; that Bronze Rank kid had really bound and brought down a Silver-rank Raven.

At this moment, the captain, whose hands were occupied, kicked the backside of a team member next to him.

"Damn it, what are you gaping at?"

"Hurry up and coordinate with that young man to kill the Ravens that fell down!"

"Have you lost even this bit of combat awareness?"

Ah! Yes! Yes! Yes!

In the ensuing scramble, the team members, who had been frustrated for so long, almost chopped the Raven—which was struggling to break free and preparing to take off again—into mincemeat!

The captain didn't pay any more attention to his team members' actions; instead, he looked back at the figure in the sky.

With the appearance of those wind-element tails, that figure became even more at ease.

The captain squinted and pondered.

If he hadn't seen wrong, that was a First Battle Academy uniform; who was their leader again?

Tu something, was it?

After the battle, based on his reputation, it shouldn't be a problem to ask for someone, right?
