Chapter 213: CH213: THE EXTENT OF BLOOD MANA (PART 2)

A deep, sharp, and throbbing pain pulsed throughout Ace’s body, with the sharpest bit of it coming from his mid-section. With a look of anger and discomfort on his face, the Blood Bishop lowered his head and eyes down only to see the Ethisian’s scale penetrating his body.

The creature, having used its other hand as a distraction, tricked Ace into dropping his guard, eventually leaving an opening for it to pierce its scale into his body.

With the taste of iron filling his mouth quickly, Ace coughed and struggled to breathe as he felt his insides scream in pain.

[You have been poisoned. Your body’s tolerance to the poison grows.]

[Healing will not take place until you remove the projectile from your body.]

Without wasting any more time, the Blood Bishop scattered some of his blood on the Ethisian’s face and set it ablaze, causing a quick distraction for him to escape.

Once far away enough, he coagulated the blood coming from his wounds as a way to aid his body in the healing process while also rethinking his strategy.

’Only strong and heavy attacks will do enough damage on it. Although, if I hit it on the same spot with that same move, I might be able to pierce its body... or go for its heart.’

Still refusing to transform, the Blood Bishop got up on its feet and faced the Ethisian once more. This time, instead of relying on the Blood Clones to create a distraction, Ace decided to initiate the attack on his own.

[Blood Clone Skill: Deactivated.]

[Coagulant Daggers have been stored in your Blood Inventory.]

Unexpectedly, all the Clones the Blood Bishop made rushed towards him in the form of rushing waves of blood before finally turning into dots that rested as a mark on Ace’s right hand. The mark, being blood-red in color, remained on his wrist almost as if it were a birthmark, though it was just a sizable dot.

’What’s the meaning of this?’

He wondered, waiting for an answer from his system.

[All will be explained when the quest is complete.]

"Having no need for your distractions anymore?" The Ethisian taunted while dragging its blade behind its body. With a malevolent smile on its face, the towering creature got close enough to Ace before swinging its blade at his head.

*SWISH*

Dodging at the last moment, the Blood Bishop was able to create an opening between him and the Ethisian’s body. Sadly, he couldn’t use his Pulse Breaker Skill since it required him to make direct contact with the Ethisian’s chest, and at the moment, the Ethisian had a thick armor chest plate on... but that did not stop him from doing the next move.

[Combo Aspect Activated.]

[Skills: Blood Spray: Explosive Blood Technique, Blood Fire.]

Since he couldn’t use the Pulse Breaker Skill, Ace decided to use something else that would perform almost the same amount of damage as he anticipated.

Quickly digging his nails into his palms, the Blood Bishop began to slowly bleed before forcefully pushing out all the blood from his palm and onto the Ethisian. As soon as his blood touched the Ethisian, it created a powerful explosion followed by a bright light caused by his scorching pink flames.

The Ethisian’s body was knocked off balance and blown back, like a tree blown away by strong winds. With this advantage, the Blood Bishop followed the Ethisian’s body and responded with yet another attack, this time aimed at its chest.

*BAM*

Slamming deep into the ground, the Ethisian remained flat and immobile for a moment, its body stuck in the crevices of the ground. As for Ace, he retaliated once more with another attack, this time more powerful than before since he used both his arms.

*BOOM*

A bright and powerful explosion, added with a high cloud of smoke and pink fire was all lashed onto the Ethisian’s body, destroying it severely while creating damage to the area around it. Those around the Blood Bishop immediately took cover, fearing that the after-effects of an explosion so grand would affect them.

As for Ace, he remained airborne for a moment, his eyes fixated on the cloud of smoke and fire under him.

’The system hasn’t shown anything concerning my kill count, so it means that that thing’s still alive.’

Just as he suspected, the Ethisian wasn’t dead just yet. Jumping from the cloud of smoke and fire, the Ethisian got at the same level as Ace was in the air, its anger aroused so greatly that its white eyes turned bloodshot red.

[A strong blood lust has been detected.]

’I can sense that too.’ Ace scoffed, his scowled facial expression showing the disgust he harbored for the Ethisian.

In an instant, the Ethisian lifted its leg and slammed it on Ace’s sides, thrusting his body downwards towards the ground with his sides aching, almost as if his ribs were damaged.

Thankfully, before his body got close enough to the ground, the Blood Bishop created tendrils from his back which he used to support his body upright, preventing him from slamming onto the ground.

Looking up, Ace noticed the Ethisian falling in his direction, so he quickly used all the tendrils coming from his back and manipulated them to boost him upwards to his opponent while his Coagulant Daggers were summoned onto his hands.

[Partial Transformation: Activated.]

His hands, legs, and upper body area partially transformed into his Blood Bishop form, his muscle mass now three times larger than its original size. With the tendrils still on his back, the Blood Bishop began to spin in a clockwise motion with their tips hardened.

Once the Blood Bishop and Ethisian made contact, a loud bang, followed by splashes of blood, followed as an end result with one body falling to the ground lifeless while the other landed skillfully.

[To be a Blood King, one needs loyal subjects to rule and have dominion over. The Hemo-Conjuring ability allows the user to extract the essence of Blood from fallen enemies and turn them into loyal warriors that will follow his every command. This skill works hand-in-hand with Blood Clone and needs Blood Mana to be used effectively.]

[The red mark on your arm signifies the number of warriors you have with you. The larger the mark, the more soldiers you have.]

The Possibilities.

The possibilities of such a skill were so grand that the Blood Bishop couldn’t even fathom more than a quarter of them at the moment. Looking at the tiny, tiny red mark on his arm, which, according to his system, was only fifteen soldiers, made Ace wonder just how many soldiers he’d have if his entire arm was covered with the red mark.

The idea alone of having Blood Warriors that would fall completely under his command was mesmerizing and grand, letting Ace fantasize about the possibilities lying at his fingertips.

[To extract the essence of fallen enemies, simply raise your hand towards the corpse of choice and say, Blood Essence, Manifest. This skill can only be used in the presence of slain enemies that you have killed yourself.]

Looking at the corpses before him brought a red glint in his eye as he grinned partially. With his eyes mainly fixated on the Upper Warrior Class Ethisian, the Blood Bishop raised his hand in the Ethisian’s direction, lowered his palms lightly, and gently lifted and folded his fist while saying, "Blood Essence, Manifest."

[Hemo-Conjuring Skill: Activated.]

All the blood that was in and out of the Ethisian’s body rose from the ground and shifted around the corpses. All the twenty Ethisians killed by the Blood Bishop were suspended in the air by their own red, glowing blood.

Slowly, the bodies started to change from fleshy creatures to beings made completely out of Blood. Now Ace understood why the system said the skill may only work on creatures he killed himself and why it will only work on in the presence of said corpses.

Seeing twenty of the killed Ethisians stand before him, completely red in color with their insides burning a pinkish-red color brought a feeling of power to the Blood Bishop. With the progress of war, he was more than excited to increase his own Blood Army. The more he killed, the more powerful soldiers he’d possess. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ ????????????????????·????????????????·????????????

"Such power lying in one person." Skyler and the Granians around her gasped, their senses overwhelmed with amazement. Before their eyes were the Ethisians Ace killed, now standing in completely morphed bodies with their inner parts glowing.

All at once, the once-fallen soldiers bowed down to Ace with the Upper Warrior Class Ethisian at the front. The Granians, fearing that the Blood Bishop would come for them next, slowly backed away while Skyler and Cherry cautiously approached him.

’This is going to cause a shift in this war.’
