Chapter 8: What Do You Take Me For?

At 8:30 in the morning, Yang Chen groggily woke up.He opened his eyes, looked at his naked body, and tried to recall what had happened last night.

He vaguely remembered falling asleep when someone opened the door. As he opened it, someone rushed in and kissed him, and the two ended up in a passionate embrace.

In his memory, the person wore a red dress, had flaming red lips, and a slender figure. It had to be Wang Jiayi without a doubt.

At this moment, a stack of red bills on the bedside table caught Yang Chen’s attention.

He quickly flung off the blanket to take a closer look at the situation, and that was when he noticed the bedsheet.

"Damn!" Yang Chen muttered softly, feeling genuinely surprised.

Wang Jiayi was indeed generous, leaving her entire month’s allowance behind.

The other employees were stunned, thinking that the new boss must be an older man, considering no young person could possibly have the wealth to buy an entire mansion for 2 billion.

However, the new boss was indeed this young, likely a second-generation wealthy individual.

Chen Zhichao quickly opened a drawer, took out a large envelope, and respectfully handed it to Yang Chen.

"Mr. Yang, all your items are inside. Please check them, and if there’s any issue, I’ll resolve it for you immediately." Chen Zhichao said courteously.

Now that Haisang Mansion belonged to Yang Chen, all the management office staff had to be mindful of his sentiments.

If Yang Chen did not want to work with them, they would all have to leave.

That’s why Chen Zhichao was so polite to Yang Chen.

Yang Chen believed the system’s rewards wouldn’t have any errors, so there was no need to check.

So he replied, "No need, I trust Manager Chen is a straightforward person who wouldn’t meddle with my things. I’ll need your continued assistance to help manage the Haisang Financial Mansion."

Chen Zhichao immediately burst into laughter, quickly calling all the employees together to bow in salute to Yang Chen.

"Everyone, say together, ’Hello, President Yang.’" Chen Zhichao said loudly.

"Hello, President Yang!" The employees shouted in unison.

Yang Chen smiled and nodded, saying, "No need to be so formal. Continue working as usual, everyone. Manager Chen, report to me the leasing situation of 1506-1508."

Chen Zhichao quickly called someone to pull out the lease information for 1506-1508 for Yang Chen to see.

The tenant’s name was Zhang Jingyan, with the lease expiring at the end of the month.

Zhang Jingyan was the unruly boss who promised Yang Chen a 20% commission but reneged, claiming it was too high.

And now that their lease was almost up, why not seize the opportunity to put pressure on him?

"Manager Chen, come with me to see them." Yang Chen ordered.

Chen Zhichao didn’t know what Yang Chen intended, but as long as he complied with the boss’s instructions.

As they stepped out of the elevator, Chen Zhichao received a call.

"President Yang, I’m sorry, can I take this call before going in?" Chen Zhichao asked.

Yang Chen nodded and said, "Go ahead, I’ll go in first."

"Okay, okay. I’ll come right in to find you after the call." Chen Zhichao said respectfully.

Yang Chen nodded, lifted his head, and walked into the Jingyan Advertising Company.

At this moment, the former colleagues were discussing in the employee group whether Yang Chen would come to ask for his salary.

And then, Yang Chen walked in.

The receptionist, Xiaoli, smiled and asked quickly when she saw Yang Chen, "Yang Chen, you really came to ask for your salary, huh?"

"Asking for the salary that I’m owed—why wouldn’t I?" Yang Chen replied with a smile.

Xiaoli whispered, "I heard from President Zhang and Manager Li that they’ll only settle your basic salary, and won’t even give you the basic commission. Unless you obediently come back to work, they’ll consider giving you the basic commission. As for the 20% commission you mentioned, without a written agreement, forget about it."

Yang Chen chuckled and said, "I never take advantage of others, but I also don’t let others take advantage of me. Call Zhang Jingyan and tell him I’m here!"

Xiaoli nodded and dialed Zhang Jingyan.

Yang Chen walked into the office, raising his voice, "Everyone’s busy, huh!"

As soon as the former colleagues heard Yang Chen’s voice, they immediately turned to look at him.

"Yang Chen, you really came back to ask for your salary."

"Do you think you’ll be able to get it?"

"Just ask for the basic salary. Don’t be too greedy, or you might end up with nothing at all."

Chen Yu immediately whispered, "Bro, don’t be like that. Let’s leave some room."

Yang Chen chuckled and said, "Leave room? For what? Zhang Jingyan has already lost face. Why should I save any for him?"

Li Yuan fumed, pointing at Yang Chen and cursing, "Bastard! Watch your words, or you’ll regret it!"

Yang Chen rolled his eyes at Li Yuan and said, "What the hell do you think you are? Can you make decisions for Zhang Jingyan? Does your attitude represent his attitude? You’re just an employee too, what are you showing off for in front of me!"

The former colleagues gasped, Yang Chen was truly bold.

The receptionist, Xiaoli, hurried to calm Yang Chen, advising him to speak kindly.

Li Yuan’s face flushed red with anger, opening and closing his mouth, at a loss for words.

At this moment, Zhang Jingyan came out with a stern face.

"Yang Chen, what do you take this place for? Is this the place for you to shout and even insult others?" Zhang Jingyan said with a grave expression.

Yang Chen chuckled, "Oh, here you are. I thought you wouldn’t come out. I told you clearly when I left yesterday that I’d be back for my salary today. So, what’s the deal? Are you ready?"
