474: It's a misunderstanding! It's all a misunderstanding!
“A piece of trash in the Heavenly Immortal Realm, to actually survive, your life must be hard indeed.”
Qi Sheng crossed his arms, chin slightly raised, sizing up Su Ming with the corner of his eye.
The contempt on his face was practically overflowing.
The few people around him also burst into laughter.
The way they looked at Su Ming was like watching a fat rabbit that had luckily escaped a hunter's trap only to run right back through the door.
As for Sword Thirteen, who stood beside Su Ming, whose Aura was ordinary, clothes were simple, and whose eyes even looked somewhat dull, they completely ignored him.
A guy whose spiritual power fluctuations were so weak they were practically negligible.
Furthermore, judging by his subservient attitude toward Su Ming, he was most likely just a servant.
In Black Crow City, where the strong prey on the weak, it was perfectly normal for powerful figures to have retainers handling miscellaneous tasks.
Therefore, they naturally regarded Su Ming as the one in charge.
“Kid, if you want to blame someone, blame your City Lord!”
“If he hadn't stolen our stuff, you wouldn't have ended up like this.”
One of Qi Sheng's subordinates stepped forward, intending to send Su Ming and the other man on their way with a simple flick of his finger.
However, facing all of this, Su Ming didn't even bother to lift an eyelid; he merely turned his head to look at Sword Thirteen beside him.
His demeanor was as casual as if he were in his own home.
“Senior Brother Thirteen, I’ll trouble you.”
After a pause, he added.
“Don't kill them yet. Leave a few alive. We just arrived here and don't know many of the rules. We can ask them for directions.”
“Alright.”
Sword Thirteen's response was just one word, simple and crisp.
He didn't even look at Su Ming; he just slowly raised his head.
His eyes, which had originally been as still as an ancient well, finally focused on Qi Sheng and the others.
He moved.
There was no earth-shattering eruption of Aura, nor was there any dazzling display of spiritual light.
He simply stepped forward.
Buzz—!
In an instant, the world seemed to freeze.
A terrifying pressure, capable of destroying heaven and earth, crashed down upon Qi Sheng and his companions like a collapsing mountain!
“Ugh!”
The sneer on Qi Sheng's face instantly froze, and a painful groan escaped his throat.
Immediately afterward, their legs went soft, and with a dull thud, they uncontrollably collapsed to their knees!
The few people behind him fared even worse; their faces turned paper-white, and their eyeballs bulged.
One of them even spat out fresh blood, instantly killed by the pressure exerted by Sword Thirteen.
The remaining people were filled with terror.
Terror!
It was the most primitive form of suppression, stemming from a higher life level, making it impossible for them to even conceive of resistance.
Qi Sheng struggled to lift his head, using all his strength just to clearly see the figure slowly walking toward them.
How could that be a mere servant!
That was clearly a deity walking among mortals!
“An Immortal Sovereign?”
His teeth were chattering violently, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between them.
“Holy shit!”
When did an Immortal Sovereign expert arrive in this godforsaken place, Black Crow City?
And he actually ran right into one?
Qi Sheng wished he could slap himself twice right then and there.
Unfortunately, there were no do-overs.
Cold sweat trickled down his temples, bringing a chill and an itchy sensation, but he didn't even dare to lift a hand to wipe it away.
Until this moment.
If he still didn't understand, then his hundreds of years of life had been lived in vain.
These two fiends in front of him weren't soft targets from Black Crow City; they were clearly two fierce Dragons crossing the river!
Especially Sword Thirteen, who hadn't spoken a word, was actually an Immortal Sovereign expert.
He knew he was finished.
This time, he had truly kicked an iron plate (hit a snag).
“Big Brother!”
Qi Sheng's Adam's apple bobbed, and he forced out a smile uglier than a cry, his voice dry and hoarse.
“Misunderstanding, misunderstanding! This is all a misunderstanding!”
“We were aiming for those bastards in Black Crow City! It absolutely has nothing to do with you two sirs!”
Su Ming watched him quietly, his eyes devoid of anger, holding only amusement.
This calmness terrified Qi Sheng more than any outburst of rage.
“Oh?”
Su Ming finally spoke, his voice neither hurried nor slow.
“Who was it just now who said they were going to kill us?”
“My memory isn't very good. Why don't you help me recall?”
Qi Sheng's face instantly crumpled, and both his legs were trembling.
“Sir, you must have misheard. The wind must be strong; you misheard!”
He wished he could kneel down and hug Su Ming's thigh.
“Even if you gave me a hundred times the courage, I wouldn't dare say such a thing to you!”
Su Ming chuckled softly and took a step forward.
Thump.
This step seemed to land directly on Qi Sheng's heart, making his entire body tremble.
“Don't be like that.”
Su Ming's tone was full of regret.
“I still prefer the arrogant look you had just now; it had a particularly strong Aura.”
“How about you try to recover it?”
Recover?
Recover your grandpa!
Qi Sheng cursed wildly internally, yet his smile became even more fawning, his facial muscles practically twisting into knots.
“Brother! My dear brother! I was blind and failed to recognize Mount Tai; I judged people with dog eyes!”
“You are a great person; just treat me like a fart and let me go!”
Su Ming stretched out a finger and gently shook it.
“Letting you go isn't out of the question.”
Qi Sheng's eyes instantly lit up, as if he had grasped a life-saving straw.
“We are new here and know nothing about the situation in the Chaotic Immortal Domain...”
Before Su Ming could finish, Qi Sheng immediately understood, slapping his own chest.
His face was practically screaming, “I understand.”
“I understand!”
“Brother, I understand!”
“From now on, I will be your living map, your pawn on the front lines!”
“In this Chaotic Immortal Domain, from the distribution of the top powers down to how many rats are in which hidden corner, as long as you want to know, I guarantee I will find out every detail for you!”
To save his life, Qi Sheng had completely thrown caution to the wind.
What was dignity, what was face, compared to his life?
Seeing his appearance, the amusement on Su Ming's face deepened.
“Oh? So, you are very useful?”
“Useful! Absolutely useful!”
Qi Sheng nodded vigorously, like a pestle pounding garlic.
Su Ming slowly said.
“Very well.”
“First, tell me about the distribution of powers in the Chaotic Immortal Domain. Whose strength is the greatest?”
Qi Sheng hurriedly shuffled half a step forward, then seemed to remember something, stopping himself abruptly and bending his waist even lower.
“Brother, the Chaotic Immortal Domain has three major top powers.”
“These three powers check and balance each other, forming a three-way standoff.”
Su Ming's eyes immediately brightened upon hearing this.
“Oh? Which three powers?”
Qi Sheng swallowed hard and lowered his voice.
“The City of Hope, the City of Chaos, and the City of Sin.”
“These three forces have been fighting each other for thousands of years, yet none can defeat the others, which is why the current situation has formed.”
Su Ming rubbed his chin, deep in thought.
“The City of Hope?”
He chuckled softly, his laugh tinged with amusement.
“In this damned place, someone actually dares to call it the City of Hope?”
