Sage’s eyes scanned his status panel. There were no significant changes, except that his expression points had risen from zero to ten.
Raising an eyebrow, he asked the system, "What are experience points for? Is it to help me level up and get stronger?"
His heart raced with excitement at the thought. If that were true, he wouldn’t need to worry about his talent being labeled as trash; leveling up could make him stronger.
[ No Host. ] The cold voice echoed in his mind.
His excitement quickly fizzled out. His face twitched slightly as he pressed on, "Then what does it mean?"
[ Host, experience points are earned to level up your identity rather than directly making you stronger. ] The system replied coldly.
"Level up my identity? What do you mean...? Oh, I see." Sage realized that the identity section labeled him as a "Guild Rookie," which clarified the system’s meaning.
"But what do I gain from this identity? Do I get any buffs or something?" Sage inquired again.
[ I can’t reveal specifics, but each time your identity levels up, you will gain certain benefits. ] The system responded after a brief pause.
Sage rolled his eyes in frustration. "Why all these vague answers? Can’t you just be straightforward? Ugh, I hate this kind of thing."
Shaking his head with a light smile, he turned his attention to the Adventurer Guild Status Panel.

---------
He scanned the interface and noted a few updates: there was now one active guild member and thirty-six gold coins in guild funds, though he remembered having thirty-seven before using one for breakfast.
Sage rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he studied the Guild Rank section, now marked as F. "According to the system’s earlier message, I need 100 Reputation Points, 100 Gold Coins, and one registered member to rank up."
His gaze shifted to the Active Members and Guild Funds sections, narrowing his eyes in concentration. "I’ve already completed one requirement with my Active Members count, and I currently have thirty-six gold coins. That means I only need sixty-four more to fulfill the Guild Funds requirement."
He sighed softly, acknowledging that accumulating Reputation Points would be a slower process.
"The gold coins should come easily enough if three to five people register as Adventurers or commission some missions," he mused, tapping his fingers lightly on the desk. A smile crept onto his face.
"But with Gregor’s help, I think it won’t be long before those Reputation Points start rolling in." A wide grin spread across his features.
One of Sage’s main motivations for wanting flyers was to quickly gather Reputation Points. With these flyers promoting the Guild, something that is new and unique in this world, he believed they would attract attention and spark conversations.
The system indicated that it didn’t matter whether the Guild’s reputation was good or bad; as long as it was famous, he could earn Reputation Points.
This aspect thrilled Sage because it meant he didn’t have to focus solely on creating a positive image for himself or the Guild.
Chuckling softly to himself, he muttered under his breath, "Do I need to unleash my excellent PR skills or maybe even stir up some bad rumors about the Guild?"
He understood how fame worked all too well, coming from 21st century Earth where people sought validation online. People often went to great lengths for notoriety; after all, what better way is there to gain fame than through rumors? Bad news travels faster than good news.
Sage squinted as various ideas raced through his mind. "Looks like I’ll need to shake things up with my PR abilities. But first, some preparations are in order, I just need one big opportunity."
A sly smile crept onto his lips as he thought about letting Gregor do what he does best and allowing his plans to unfold naturally. Before long, this place would be buzzing with activity.
Leaning back in his chair and crossing one leg over the other, another thought struck him: what Gregor had mentioned earlier about how Warriors had been oppressed and exploited so much that giving away their hard-earned resources had become second nature.
He realized this could work in his favor; if Adventurers didn’t have to hand over their loot or treasures upon completing missions, they would feel immense gratitude towards the Guild, almost like divine mercy.
"And me...I might just become a saint in their eyes." Sage grinned wickedly. After all, he didn’t need those loots anyway, why not leverage this situation so that Warriors felt grateful and revered towards the Guild?
Although he understood that not everyone would express gratitude or reverence for the Guild, he shrugged it off.
Sure, there might be a few dissenters, but they would be vastly outnumbered by those who did worship the Guild. After all, the majority always holds the power of the vote.
Sage tapped his knees thoughtfully. "Once the Guild acquires some dungeons, how will people react when they discover that the loot from these dungeons doesn’t need to be surrendered?"
A wicked grin spread across his face. "They’ll go absolutely ballistic! That moment will become a defining event for the Guild. People will see it as a divine blessing, a force sent to combat the evil dragons represented by the Nobles. And I, Sage Alistair, will be hailed as humanity’s hero, the last Saint to vanquish those malevolent dragons."
"Hahahahahaha!"
His laughter echoed in throughout the empty Guild Hall, a sound of pure, ambitious glee.
Cough! Cough!
He laughed so hard that he choked on his saliva, his face turning slightly red as he patted his chest.
"Ahem! Let’s not get ahead of ourselves," he said with a deep breath.
Standing up from his chair, he stretched his limbs and made his way to the entrance. By then, the sun was high in the sky, bathing him in warm light and bringing a satisfied smile to his face.
Patting his stomach, he muttered under his breath, "Time for lunch."
With that thought in mind, he closed the doors of the Guild and strolled toward Mama Arya with hands in pockets and a tune on his lips, his steps felt light as if he were floating.
