212: Blood God Palace Headquarters

"A World-destroying calamity?"

Mo Tianxiao was shaken; he felt that something was not quite right.

"Don't joke around. What World-destroying calamity? Why would it happen in our era of all times?"

"Besides, shouldn't Ascension only happen when one's cultivation base reaches a certain point? How can people undergo Ascension in a group?"

Zhou Muxi's words reminded Mo Tianxiao of what Huang Miaoyin had said back in the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains. Although Ascension did seem to have some dangers, when Huang Miaoyin spoke of it, it didn't sound like such a big deal.

Why did it become a World-destroying calamity when it came from Zhou Muxi?

Zhou Muxi looked serious. "Once a Cultivator can no longer suppress their cultivation base and chooses Ascension, it will trigger the Tides of Heaven. Power with more complete laws will pour into the Xuanhuang World, and Cultivators at the Quasi-Emperor Realm will be unable to control their cultivation base and will step into the Emperor Realm."

"Once they enter the Emperor Realm, they will face the terrifying Ascension Tribulation. Those with insufficient foundations or those nearing the end of their lifespan have a high probability of perishing under the Ascension Tribulation.

Only by passing the Ascension Tribulation can one open the Gate of Ascension and travel to a world with more complete Daos, which is what we call Ascension."

Mo Tianxiao hadn't expected Zhou Muxi to know so much about Ascension.

"But what does this have to do with a calamity for the Xuanhuang World? What impact does their Ascension have on the world?"

Zhou Muxi shook her head slightly. "There are very few records regarding the World-destroying calamity of the Ancient Golden Age, but based on inferences from ordinary Ascension Tribulations, this calamity concerning the safety of the Xuanhuang World is related to the legendary Gate of Ascension."

"Regardless of what the true calamity is, as long as we hold the power of the Blood God Palace in our hands, our chances of surviving the calamity will greatly increase.

Although it's called a World-destroying calamity, it doesn't mean it can truly wipe out all the Cultivator Legacies in the Xuanhuang World. Otherwise, the current Xuanhuang World wouldn't exist."

Zhou Muxi was extremely optimistic; she didn't believe a World-destroying calamity that only existed in legends would destroy the Great Zhou Dynasty.

Mo Tianxiao wasn't worried either. "Whatever. It hasn't happened yet anyway. Maybe the records in the ancient texts are just meant to be scary."

If there really was some World-destroying calamity, he could just hide under the heaven-reaching divine tree in the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains. That big shot must have gone through countless tribulations and surely had plenty of experience.

"Let's talk about the matter at hand. We should take over the Blood God Palace first."

Zhou Muxi gave a playful smile and looked at Mo Tianxiao. "You seem quite interested. Are you also interested in the Blood God Palace?"

Mo Tianxiao nodded without hesitation. "The number one assassin organization in the Xuanhuang World—of course I'm interested. And have you forgotten? Because of you, I've become the next blood child. That means I'll be qualified to become the controller of the Blood God Palace in the future."

Zhou Muxi giggled. "If you can help me successfully take control of the entire Blood God Palace, I'll change the rules and hand the position of the next Blood God directly to you."

"Sister Muxi, don't joke with me. I might take you seriously."

"Do you think I'd lie to you? What I just said is true. As long as you one day break through to the Saint King Realm, I guarantee I will yield the position of the blood god to you."

A calm smile rested on Zhou Muxi's face; she didn't seem to be joking with Mo Tianxiao.

Mo Tianxiao was stunned. "Sister Muxi, you're quite generous. But who can say for sure about these things? Let's wait until you become the Blood God first."

The two looked at each other in silence.

The cloud piercing shuttle was extremely fast. In just a few days, it had crossed the Western Regions and arrived at the Extreme Western Land.

After arriving at the Extreme Western Land, the cloud piercing shuttle tore through space. It no longer traveled at full speed but instead headed unhurriedly toward the depths of the Extreme Western Land.

Below was a vast expanse of white. The entire land was covered in thick snow, with no other colors or living creatures in sight.

On the Flying Boat, Mo Tianxiao and the others even felt the circulation of Spiritual Qi within their bodies slow down slightly.

"No wonder no Cultivators are willing to come to a place like this."

Mo Tianxiao murmured to himself.

The temperature in the Extreme Western Land was likely as low as over a hundred degrees below zero. Forget ordinary people; even Cultivators with low cultivation bases wouldn't be able to withstand such freezing cold.

Furthermore, the Spiritual Qi in this place was incredibly thin, making it completely unsuitable for cultivation.

"With the Blood God Palace establishing its headquarters in a place like this, can those assassins even have good cultivation resources?"

Zhou Muxi didn't explain, only smiling faintly as she said, "You'll know when we get there. We're still a long way from the Blood God Palace headquarters."

Seeing this, Mo Tianxiao didn't ask further but silently memorized the entire route they had taken.

Meanwhile, Huang Xiaoyao and the others were curiously blowing out puffs of air, looking at the snowy white landscape below. Snow was falling from the sky, and when the snowflakes landed on the cloud piercing shuttle's protective shield, they could even freeze the energy for a moment.

On this trip, besides the four people with Mo Tianxiao, Zhou Muxi also brought two masked Saint-level Assassins, one of whom was Xietu, whom Mo Tianxiao and the others had met before.

In this manner, with the speed of the cloud piercing shuttle, the group traveled for a few more days until they saw a brand new sight. Ahead of the snowy white boundary was a vast expanse of pitch black, stretching endlessly as far as the eye could see.

At first glance, Mo Tianxiao thought he had reached the core area of the Chaotic Star Sea. After carefully scanning with his Divine Sense, he realized it wasn't black seawater but a desert—an endless desert paved with black sand.

At the boundary between the snowy white cold and the scorching desert, a massive tavern stood out prominently. It was almost identical to the Blood God Palace branch taverns Mo Tianxiao and the others had seen in the Central Divine Land.

"This place is amazing!"

Huang Xiaoyao could hardly believe it. As the cloud piercing shuttle stopped, she reached out her hands and stood on the boundary line, feeling the starkly different temperatures on either side, feeling incredibly astonished.

Yun Sangyi also had her mouth slightly open, curious about this place.

As a woman from a native prominent Family in the Western Regions, Yun Sangyi had naturally visited the Extreme Western Land before. However, since there was nothing but a vast expanse of white, she hadn't ventured deep. She hadn't expected such a place to exist.

Great Dragon Ao stood with his arms crossed, completely uninterested in these places. They weren't even as interesting to him as the dragon toys from the Mortal world.

"Is that the Blood God Palace headquarters? Just a small tavern?"

Although Mo Tianxiao was curious about the terrain, his main concern now was whether that small tavern below was truly the Blood God Palace headquarters.

For the number one assassin organization in the Xuanhuang World, was their base really this shabby?

Zhou Muxi put away the cloud piercing shuttle and slowly descended to the ground. "Follow me and you'll see."

The group followed Zhou Muxi to the tavern entrance. It was very quiet inside. Upon pushing the door open, they found only a mere dozen or so people divided into two groups, drinking separately.

Hearing the noise, they all turned to look at Zhou Muxi and the others.

The old man at the counter's eyes lit up when he saw Zhou Muxi. "Muxi, you're here."

Zhou Muxi looked at the old man and cupped her hands. "Uncle Li."

The old man, whom Zhou Muxi called Uncle Li, looked at the people behind her, finally settling his gaze on Mo Tianxiao. "The person you chose is him, right? Tribulation Crossing Peak, just like the other two."

Uncle Li nodded and said, "Except for the two of you, the rest should stay here and rest. They won't be able to help anyway."
