378: Qin Dynasty
Wagering means placing bets on multiple sides.
Whether it was Zhang Huai or Little Lion, both were the results released after big shots behind the scenes had placed their bets.
As the object of these bets, Ye Su could consume a vast amount of resources.
However, these things would ultimately affect the weight of whether he was worth investing in.
---"Martial Dao."
Ye Su nodded.
The Martial Dao system within Calamity Chaos was clearly much stronger.
The Martial Dao system, led by the Extreme Realm, was the embodiment of extreme combat power.
Learn it.
Naturally, he had to learn it.
"Good, since you've made up your mind, I'll start making arrangements for you."
Zhang Huai said.
Then, in the next second.
Ye Su was thrown directly into a Grass Grid World.
Vaguely, Zhang Huai's voice drifted over;
'Don't worry, I'll help you continue with your and Lu Yiyi's fraud plan.'
Ye Su nodded.
Zhang Huai was being a real friend, essentially buying him some time.
"Martial Dao, pfft---"
Suddenly.
Before Ye Su could even see what this world looked like, Little Lion's sneer came from above his head.
"Senior, what do you mean by that? Isn't Martial Dao the orthodox path?"
Ye Su asked, fishing for information.
Little Lion shifted positions and said;
"Martial Dao is an orthodox path, but someone is already at the top."
"It's good for you to learn it, after all, it's the foundation of combat power, but..."
"Ultimately, you'll have to carve out a path of your own."
His own path?
"What do you mean? The Ascension Path, Martial Dao—they're all orthodox paths, aren't they? Can't I take them?"
Ye Su asked.
"The five paths of Ascension Path, Martial Dao, taboo, Fate, and sequence are already full. You need to walk a sixth path."
"Of course, it's still far too early for you. For a little guy who hasn't even touched the rules yet, understanding what a 'path' is is still a long way off."
Little Lion was clearly just looking for entertainment.
Large-scale, massive spoilers.
Causing unrest among the chosen ones just to watch the various big shots lose their composure.
As for being held accountable afterward.
It laughed.
It knew how to suck up to the right people.
It didn't care at all.
Ye Su was dumbfounded.
Indeed, being spoiled like this made his scalp tingle.
The things Little Lion spoke of were an unknown distance away from him.
He didn't know whether knowing such things at this stage was a good or bad thing for him.
But...
Ye Su also had his own little notebook.
He didn't dwell on the future; he just recorded this information directly in his notebook.
For now, it was better to first acquire the Martial Dao of Calamity Chaos.
Looking up, this was a desolate world.
The ground was a scorched yellow.
Turbid suspended particulate matter floated in the air.
Moreover, these suspended particles made his skin sting slightly.
'Post-nuclear war?'
'A wasteland world?'
Ye Su was stunned.
How could such a world have a Martial Dao system?
Soon.
Ye Su landed.
Instantly, the ground surged as a flesh aberration burst from the surface and lunged at him.
It looked like an earthworm or something similar.
Ye Su drew his saber.
A casual slash.
He cut it down instantly.
After the flesh aberration earthworm, dozens of meters long, was killed, its chunks of meat had only just hit the ground.
Ye Su heard the sound of hearts beating violently dozens of meters away.
And--- "Hiss--- so powerful."
"That was a Level 2 flesh aberration, yet it was killed in a single strike."
"I think I saw Saber Qi; is it possible he's a successor of the Ancient Martial Arts?"
"Probably. Maybe he's an inspector sent by the Empire to find talented emissaries."
"Then we..."
"Hey, Black Tooth, do you want to die!"
---And then.
Ye Su saw a child of about ten years old run out from behind a rock and rush toward him.
Ye Su narrowed his eyes.
He activated Flesh and Blood Power.
'Hmm, the flesh and blood are fine, just some minor aberrations.'
'No spiritual energy, and no blessing from the power of Heaven's Will.'
'There is a slight sensation of True Qi, but it's very mixed and sparse.'
Appraisal complete.
Not someone with hidden combat power; he could interact with them.
A soft huff came from Little Lion above.
It vanished from Ye Su's perception.
But when Ye Su reached out slightly, he could still feel it, though Little Lion swiped at his hand.
It seemed.
Little Lion didn't want to get too involved in this special Grass Grid World, so it hid itself.
"Excuse me, are you an emissary of the Empire?"
The child named Black Tooth looked at Ye Su with sparkling eyes.
Ye Su shook his head but then said;
"I need some information. What do you want? We can trade."
Grass Grid Worlds were timelines.
Ye Su knew this.
Therefore.
He would not easily resort to killing or coercing the Human Race.
Because doing so could cause massive disasters due to the nature of the timelines.
"Then can I pick up some of the meat from this Level 2 aberration?"
Black Tooth said;
"If I can, I can take you to our village."
"Okay."
Ye Su nodded.
Black Tooth's dark little face lit up with joy, and he quickly called out to the people behind him.
Immediately, a large group of children ran over and began picking up chunks of the aberration's meat.
They seemed very familiar with this operation.
They cut away the horrifyingly mutated parts and only collected the good meat.
After a while.
"Sir, we're ready. Please come with us to the village."
Black Tooth said.
And so.
Ye Su followed Black Tooth and the others, walking in one direction.
On the way.
"Aren't you afraid I'm a bad person, bringing a stranger home like this?"
Ye Su asked.
It indeed seemed a bit unreasonable.
Black Tooth nodded though;
"We're not afraid. The Empire said long ago;"
"In this world, humans are a community with a shared future; we must unite to forge ahead through hardships."
"After the great war, although the Empire was defeated, emissaries still come every so often to teach us how to practice Ancient Martial Arts and take away those with Talent."
Ye Su was surprised.
Then.
They began chatting, and he learned about the situation in this Grass Grid World.
This was a unified world.
A great war had occurred decades ago.
And what the Empire faced were 'Demonic Beasts' whose purpose was to devour, destroy, and erase.
"They're Chaos Beasts."
Little Lion interjected.
The war lasted for several years, and in the end, the Empire was ruined.
However, the 'Demonic Beasts' didn't have it easy either; they were mostly wiped out and eventually went into hiding, engaging in a long war of attrition with the Empire.
During the great war, the terrifying wills of the powerful experts remained on the planet's surface, clinging to the dust, which created this wasteland-like style.
Ye Su looked up at the gray, hazy sky.
'The wills of the powerful, like radiation, haven't dissipated after all these years? They can even make my skin sting slightly?'
'A single war turned a planet into a wasteland?'
'What kind of Martial Dao is this!'
His eyes were opened.
No wonder Zhang Huai threw him into this world.
There really was something to this world.
Thus.
Ye Su and Black Tooth chatted even more enthusiastically.
Finally.
Ye Su learned the name of this Empire;
Great Qin!
