541: Drifting on the long river of time and space

“You’ve come…”

A faint sigh reached Young Master Chu’s ears, sending shivers down his spine and making it difficult for him to distinguish which figure was speaking.

Young Master Chu wanted to speak, but he didn't know what to say or what to ask.

“The darkness is about to break out. There isn’t much time left there.”

“You are a variable in this world.”

“Hurry up.”

Words that Young Master Chu couldn’t comprehend echoed, and when he wanted to ask questions, he found that he couldn't speak, he couldn’t say anything.

Young Master Chu then discovered with horror that he seemed to be standing on a long river of time and space flowing through eternity, with these three figures sitting and playing chess within it, though one figure seemed to be missing.

As if they were waiting for someone.

“Are they talking to me?” Young Master Chu couldn’t help but wonder.

He saw one of the figures, presumably the Azure Dragon, salvaging something from the long river of time and space, seemingly grasping a terrifying 'darkness creature,' but even such a formidable darkness creature was reduced to nothingness before that figure, utterly obliterating all traces.

One after another, darkness creatures were pulled out by the three figures; Young Master Chu couldn't even remember how many they had retrieved.

Until a certain moment, the three figures stopped simultaneously, rose, and left that eternal river of time and space…

The surroundings became empty, and Young Master Chu didn't know what to do.

Retreat? There seemed to be no path.

Go forward? That spatial-temporal chess game?

While Young Master Chu was contemplating, his body inexplicably moved forward, stepping into that spatial-temporal chess game.

With just one glance, Young Master Chu browsed through fragmented pieces within the long river of time and space, learning many things, while also feeling an immense heaviness and dizziness in his brain.

It seemed he was so incredibly exhausted that he unconsciously fell into a coma.

Eastern Wilderness!

The Archaic Luo Family began to undergo dramatic changes; the anomaly that had originally pierced through the Luo Family's ancestral land, causing the space where the Luo Family resided to collapse and countless spatial-temporal rifts to appear, began to subside.

The rifts were slowly recovering and disappearing, and the Luo River, which had been pierced through, returned to its original space.

This sight filled all the high-ranking members of the Luo Family with joy.

“That’s great, Chu Ying must have resolved the Luo River anomaly!” Luo Shuihan was also extremely surprised to see this scene.

Feng Ming Hua Yuan said, “At this rate, all those chaotic and disordered spatial-temporal rifts will disappear within a few days.”

“Chu Ying must have found Second Sister by now; we just have to wait for them to come out.”

Luo Shuihan’s small face was filled with joyful excitement.

However, in the next three to five days, neither Chu Ying nor Luo Ruyan emerged from the Luo River, which made her a little nervous again.

“He won’t be in trouble; he carries the fortune of this world. If he dies, this world will also fall silent,” Feng Ming Hua Yuan said.

In the Luo River.

Chu Ying felt as if he had fallen into the long river of time and space. He was drowsy, rising and falling, finding it difficult to locate himself in the swaying long river of time and space.

It seemed his spiritual consciousness had fallen in.

And it seemed that countless spatial-temporal images were impacting his Soul, causing him to fall into a coma repeatedly.

Until a certain moment, he heard a gentle calling voice in his ear:

“Senior Brother Chu?”

“Young Master Chu?”

“Chu Ying?”

In a daze and confusion, Chu Ying awoke, looking at the woman who seemed very familiar but whose memory he couldn't pinpoint. He couldn't help but ask, “Is this lady…?”

“I am Luo Ruyan.”

Luo Ruyan nodded and spoke softly. She was also extremely surprised to find Chu Ying in the long river of time and space.

Originally, she was trapped in the spatial-temporal chessboard, but then she saw the bewildered Chu Ying also stepping into it, though Chu Ying seemed unable to see her.

After that, Chu Ying's spiritual consciousness was swept into the long river of time and space, and Luo Ruyan also couldn't maintain her composure, falling in as well.

However, the two did not initially fall into the same section of the long river of time and space, but only met much later.

Unlike Chu Ying’s drifting, Luo Ruyan basically just fell in and didn’t drift with the current, so she wasn’t impacted by a large number of spatial-temporal memories on her Soul and could maintain a clear mind and consciousness.

Soon after, she found Chu Ying.

“Luo Ruyan…”

Chu Ying looked bewildered. He felt that he knew this name, but his brain was too swollen and hazy, with too many fragmented images, so he couldn't immediately find the relevant memories.

“It’s alright if Senior Brother Chu can’t remember me for now; this is the long river of time and space.”

“I’m afraid it will be difficult for us to get out.”

Luo Ruyan gently comforted Chu Ying, her face slightly bitter.

Chu Ying was somewhat silent; just as he was about to say something, his head reeled again, and he fainted once more.

In the vast long river of time and space, only Chu Ying and Luo Ruyan drifted.

Gradually, a cold wind began to blow through the river.

The temperature dropped sharply; this was a cold current capable of freezing time and space, which neither flesh nor Soul could withstand. Even a Great Saint would suffer losses here!

“Spatial-temporal cold current…” Luo Ruyan gave a bitter smile, her expression somewhat despairing. As a daughter of the Luo Family, she also cultivated spatial power, so how could she not know the terror of the spatial-temporal cold current?

At the critical moment of life and death, Chu Ying's consciousness, on the contrary, became clear. He propped open his heavy eyelids:

“Lady Ruyan…”

“Senior Brother Chu is finally awake?” Luo Ruyan smiled, somewhat tragically beautiful: “It’s just a pity that we’re both going to die here.”

“The spatial-temporal cold current freezes everything; time and space will be static, shattered by the cold, and once frozen, both Soul and body will decay, dying under the power of time.”

She had no regrets in her heart, only too many unfulfilled wishes.

“We won’t die.”

Chu Ying’s expression was firm. He hesitated for a moment, then suddenly pulled Luo Ruyan into his embrace.

Luo Ruyan was also very weak, and with Chu Ying's pull, she completely fell into his arms. Luo Ruyan gazed at Chu Ying's face and softly said,

“Senior Brother Chu, actually, when I was in the Supreme Mystery Holy Land, I already liked you, but your eyes only held that childhood sweetheart Holy Daughter.”

Chu Ying's gaze was gentle, and he softly said, “It’s not too late now, Lady Ruyan. Perhaps I’m about to offend you.”

Chu Ying sighed lightly and recounted what he had seen and heard after entering the Luo River earlier.

And now, the only way to protect him and Luo Shuihan from having their Souls frozen and shattered in the spatial-temporal cold current was to Cultivate the Yin Yang Life and Death Scripture together, through the union of Yin and Yang.

“Although it’s a bit taking advantage of the situation…” Chu Ying gave a wry smile.

“Senior Brother Chu, I am already very grateful that you could come in and save me.” Luo Ruyan gently raised her jade hand and placed it on Chu Ying’s lips.

She whispered softly, “Since Senior Brother Chu is already with my Sister, I suppose he wouldn’t mind adding me.”

Luo Ruyan already had a special affection for Chu Ying, and in this situation, she naturally wouldn't refuse; instead, she savored such a profound love affair before the crisis of life and death.

“Ruyan…”

The two gazed at each other, Chu Ying held her in his arms, leaning down to kiss her lips.

Their fingers intertwined, using the power of Yin and Yang to resist the invasion of the spatial-temporal cold current.
