47: Section 47

Many secretly envied Chu Mo’s good luck.

However, they didn’t show it on their faces; instead, they praised him, saying it was a Heaven-bestowed Sword Intent, and even Heaven believed True Disciple Chu was suited for the Dao of the Sword.

For a time,

hosts and guests alike enjoyed themselves, pushing the atmosphere in the hall to its peak.

“Clap!”

Just then, a violent slamming sound suddenly rang out.

Everyone subconsciously turned their heads, only to see the young Martial Artist sitting beside the Third Prince stand up, his face flushed red.

Seeing this scene,

everyone, including Elder Cangming, frowned.

“Mr. Zhang, what are you doing?!”

Beside him, the Third Prince whispered, trying to get Zhang Fan to sit down.

But Zhang Fan seemed not to notice at all.

That Sword Intent…

was actually obtained by Chu Mo?!

He looked at Chu Mo with disbelief, almost not trusting his own ears.

“What’s wrong?”

“Is Your Excellency dissatisfied with me?”

Chu Mo lightly sipped his tea and said calmly.

“True Disciple Chu, please be magnanimous. My Mr. Zhang can’t hold his liquor and is probably drunk.”

The Third Prince quickly stood up, apologizing, “I’ll have someone send him down to sober up!”

With that, he waved his hand, preparing to have Zhang Fan escorted away.

“Was I speaking to you?”

Chu Mo glanced at him indifferently.

His voice was calm, and his expression was serene.

But when these words left his mouth, everyone in the hall felt their hearts suddenly tremble.

At this moment,

everyone knew that True Disciple Chu was about to get angry.

“True Disciple Chu, is there… is there some misunderstanding here? This person is named Zhang Fan, and he is also from Taichu Holy Land…”

The Third Prince suppressed the fear in his heart and still wanted to explain for Zhang Fan.

But Chu Mo didn’t even look at him.

He merely fixed his gaze on Zhang Fan.

At this moment,

Zhang Fan was very angry in his heart.

He wanted to question Chu Mo, asking why he snatched the Opportunity that belonged to him.

But facing the other party’s seemingly calm yet immensely oppressive, sword-like gaze, those questioning words simply couldn't be uttered.

How could he say it?

Should he directly say that the Sword Intent in that cave was originally his Opportunity?

Once those words were out,

everyone would probably think he had gone mad and was deliberately trying to pick a fight with Chu Mo. In that case, he would not only antagonize Chu Mo but also implicate his friend, the Third Prince.

Therefore, at this moment,

though his fury raged, and his jealousy and anger erupted like a volcano, his clenched fists hung tightly.

But after struggling for a long time,

he still lowered his head dejectedly: “I, I was just drunk, I didn’t mean to offend True Disciple Chu!”

As soon as these words left his mouth,

he felt his Heart-Nature deflate, and his entire being became muddled.

“Since you’re drunk, then go sober up, lest you lose composure and face in the hall.”

Chu Mo lightly sipped his tea and said indifferently.

“Yes.”

Zhang Fan left the hall, dispirited and crestfallen.

After he left,

an elderly man couldn't help but reprimand, “Your Highness, it’s not that this old subject oversteps, but I must say a few words to you now. Tonight’s banquet is for a distinguished guest like True Disciple Chu, how could you bring in such a clumsy young man!”

The old man was an old courtier. Although he only held the title of Loyal and Brave Earl, he had served two dynasties and commanded great prestige, so the Third Prince dared not slight him.

“Indeed, it’s said this person is someone Your Highness recently befriended, and his background is unclear!”

“It’s fortunate this person didn’t offend True Disciple Chu, otherwise, it would have truly caused a great disaster!”

“Your Highness, please never act like this again!”

Some other elders in the hall also spoke, their words filled with reprimand and complaint.

“Uncles and elders, your teachings are correct. This Junior will bear them in mind.”

Facing a thousand fingers pointing at him, the Third Prince said with trepidation.

“Enough, Your Highness didn’t do it intentionally. Everyone, don’t let a small interlude spoil your enjoyment.”

At this moment, Chu Mo spoke, helping the Third Prince out of his predicament.

The Third Prince looked at Chu Mo gratefully.

If Chu Mo hadn’t said those words,

after today, this matter would surely reach his imperial father’s ears, and he would inevitably be severely punished.

But now,

although he would still be reprimanded, at least through True Disciple Chu’s intervention, it was clear that the other party didn’t mind.

This was a blessing in misfortune.

However,

as soon as he thought that this trouble was brought by Zhang Fan, he couldn't help but feel a little resentful.

This Zhang Fan!

He had thought that the other party’s demeanor and speech were quite impressive, so he wanted to bring him to see the world.

But who knew that as soon as he came in, he would cause such a big problem for him.

Fortunately, True Disciple Chu didn’t hold it against him.

Otherwise, even he would have been implicated.

The Third Prince was somewhat annoyed.

Chapter 42: Terrifying Fate, Interested in Helping Me?

On the other side,

after leaving the hall, Zhang Fan stood in the courtyard.

Suddenly, a night breeze blew, and he shivered, abruptly waking up from his previous dazed state.

What did I just do?

Why was I jealous of a woman I had never met, and why did I act so inappropriately?!

Recalling his actions in the hall,

he felt a deep sense of regret.

He didn’t understand why his Heart-Nature, which he had always been so proud of, had suddenly become so erratic recently.

First, he was irritable and unable to cultivate after witnessing the other party’s promotion to True Disciple.

Now, he felt jealous because the other party was holding a young girl in his arms.

Then, he even lost his composure in public and was driven out of the hall.

“Zhang Fan, Zhang Fan, what’s wrong with you lately?”

“In important matters, maintain calm Qi. Have you forgotten all this?”

He blamed himself.
