220: When fighting ferocious beasts, choose the softest spot to attack.

When Ji Wuchang opened his eyes, he discovered that the sky had unknowingly turned dark.

He sensed his body, and a series of crackling sounds immediately resonated from head to toe; his cultivation base had improved slightly once again.

If he maintained this speed, it would take him at most half a month to Breakthrough to the third level of the Purple Mansion Realm.

Ji Wuchang stood up and walked out of the room, finding the outside world plunged into pitch-black darkness.

He raised his hand and looked into the distance, but there was no sign of the Old Academy Head anywhere, nor was there any aura of life besides his own.

Ji Wuchang was slightly stunned, feeling that the atmosphere was somewhat eerie.

He decided to look around; after all, having arrived at a new place, he should get to know his surroundings a bit.

He stepped out of the room, and after only three or four steps, he suddenly felt the hair all over his body stand on end.

He turned his head with difficulty to take a look, only to see a Vicious Beast several zhang tall, covered in scales, staring at him intensely.

This Vicious Beast had four massive feet, each the size of a round dining table.

Although it was night, there was a crescent moon in the sky. By the moonlight, he could see long, pitch-black, curved hook-like claws on the four massive feet.

The Vicious Beast opened its mouth, revealing a row of ghastly white teeth, looking exceptionally terrifying.

Ji Wuchang's scalp tingled. He didn't recognize what kind of Vicious Beast this was, but one look told him it was not to be trifled with.

"Academy Head, help!"

The sound of wind and thunder rang out as Ji Wuchang's body turned into a series of afterimages, bolting toward the distance because the Vicious Beast was only a few zhang away from his door.

"Roar!"

A terrifying roar erupted from the Vicious Beast's mouth. Ji Wuchang's attempt to flee enraged it, and it moved its four massive feet to give chase.

Boom!

The ground shook violently; it was the sound of the Vicious Beast stepping on the earth. With every step, a large chunk of the ground caved in.

Despite its massive size, the Vicious Beast was incredibly fast, and its body emitted a terrifying pressure.

For some reason, this pressure fluctuated, sometimes at the fourth Rank, sometimes the fifth Rank, and occasionally even stronger.

Ji Wuchang continuously used the Wind-Thunder Void Step, hoping to stall for time and wait for the Academy Head to rescue him.

But in the blink of an eye, the time it takes for half an incense stick to burn had passed, and there was still no sign of the Academy Head.

Ji Wuchang and the Vicious Beast raced around one after the other, keeping Ji Wuchang's nerves highly strung.

At this moment, Ji Wuchang grew anxious. Knowing that relying on others was worse than relying on himself, he realized he could only count on his own strength.

Ji Wuchang then decided he could no longer use the Wind-Thunder Void Step, as it consumed too much spiritual energy.

Without the slightest hesitation, he executed the Spirit Snake Step, his body moving like a swimming snake as he darted rapidly in all directions.

The Vicious Beast roared repeatedly, constantly lunging at Ji Wuchang in pursuit.

Just then, the crescent moon emerged from the clouds, and bright moonlight spilled down from the sky, coating the land and causing the ground to shimmer with a silver light.

The Vicious Beast roared, and its already massive body actually grew slightly larger.

In that instant, the Vicious Beast's pressure intensified, directly manifesting the aura of a fifth-Rank Vicious Beast.

Ji Wuchang's expression turned grim. Wasn't a fifth-Rank Vicious Beast equivalent to the Six Gods Realm?

He couldn't possibly deal with a beast of this Rank without borrowing Ji Yaoyao's power.

But he had just borrowed Ji Yaoyao's power a few days ago, and she still hadn't recovered. He naturally felt too embarrassed to ask again.

"Damn it, you're bullying me just because I arrived today, aren't you? Watch how I teach you a lesson!"

Ji Wuchang knew well that since the Academy Head wasn't here, blindly evading was pointless!

Since he couldn't hide, only one choice remained: fight it!

The pitch-black Netherworld Sword appeared. Ji Wuchang's lazy expression vanished instantly, replaced by a look of solemn killing intent.

Shadow Sword Kill, Autumn Wind Kill, Dark Moon Kill, Void Kill!

Ji Wuchang shouted fiercely, unleashing the four great killing moves of the Shadow Sword Art all at once. This was the first time he had ever used them like this.

Four sword glows slashed directly toward the Vicious Beast's eyes; he intended to blind it!

Without its eyes, no matter how big it was, it would just be something waiting to be slaughtered.

The Vicious Beast roared and lowered its head. The four sword glows slashed directly onto its skull, sending sparks flying in all directions.

Ji Wuchang felt a chill in his heart. This Vicious Beast's shell was unusually hard.

The four sword strikes he just used were enough to kill someone at the seventh or eighth level of the Purple Mansion Realm, but hitting the Vicious Beast was like scratching an itch.

The Vicious Beast seemed enraged by the four strikes. It roared and pounced at Ji Wuchang, raising a massive claw and slamming it down toward his head.

The massive claw whistled through the air like a sweeping gale, the wind so strong it made Ji Wuchang's cheeks sting.

Ji Wuchang's body blurred, leaving behind afterimages as he instantly vanished from the spot.

With a loud bang, the place where he had been standing was smashed into a massive crater by the beast's claw.

The Vicious Beast was furious that it hadn't even touched the hem of Ji Wuchang's clothes. It raised both claws and slammed them down hard toward him.

Ji Wuchang retreated like a ghost. The ten-thousand-jin boulder where he had just been standing was reduced to countless fragments.

"Silent Extinction Gloomy Light Slash!"

Ji Wuchang raised his long sword and slashed down. A gloomy light shot straight for the Vicious Beast's left eye, even faster than before.

The Vicious Beast raised its left hand, blocking its eye.

Accompanied by a piercing sound, Ji Wuchang's sword strike only left a scratch on the opponent's hand!

"Silent Extinction Gloomy Light Slash!"

Ji Wuchang raised his long sword again and slashed down, the sword light heading straight for the Vicious Beast's right eye.

Other places were impossible to attack; they were too hard, and attacking them would be a wasted effort.

The sound of wind and thunder rang out. As Ji Wuchang fought with increasing fervor, he unleashed the Green Sparrow Nine-Step Kill, every sword strike aimed at the beast's eyes.

For a moment, the Vicious Beast roared continuously, not daring to relax for a second.

Suddenly, Ji Wuchang's eyes spotted a perfect target. When the Vicious Beast stood up, it exposed its abdomen.

The abdomen was usually the weakest part of a Vicious Beast!

Ji Wuchang let out a cold laugh; he had found the perfect place to attack.

His right hand continued to slash out sword glows, aiming straight for the beast's eyes.

In his left hand, Six Small Swords appeared!

As his Divine Soul power surged, the Six Small Swords flew toward the Vicious Beast's abdomen like arrows from a bow!

The Six Small Swords whistled through the air, all of them piercing fiercely into its gut.

The Vicious Beast let out an earth-shattering roar and began rolling frantically on the ground.

Wherever the Vicious Beast went, the ground shook violently, and massive craters were smashed out by its body!

The Six Small Swords whistled as they flew back to Ji Wuchang's left hand. With a thought, he sent them straight for the beast's eyes.

The Vicious Beast rolled over, and the Six Small Swords struck its body, sending sparks flying.

The Vicious Beast stood up, frightening Ji Wuchang into quickly retreating ten zhang.

However, the Vicious Beast did not attack. It turned and bolted toward the distance with an awkward gait.

Seeing this, Ji Wuchang couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
