166: Chapter 166 New Classmates, Let's Play a Little Bet to Liven Up the Fun?

"Sparring?" Lu Chen picked at his ear, looking like he hadn't woken up yet.

"Not interested. I just arrived, I haven't adjusted to the jet lag yet, and I want to sleep."

This remark nearly made Long Tao laugh out of anger.

Traveling from Magic City to the capital by high-speed rail only takes a few hours, what kind of bullshit jet lag is that?

This was clearly a blatant show of disrespect!

"Don't be like that, Student Lu Chen." The smile on Long Tao's face turned cold.

"At the Martial God Academy, it's best not to refuse the kindness of your seniors. Otherwise, your days ahead might not be very easy."

The few lackeys behind him stepped forward. One by one, they rubbed their hands and cracked their knuckles, the sound popping sharply.

That malicious aura had already locked onto Lu Chen. The atmosphere instantly froze.

"Oh?" Lu Chen finally straightened his posture. He scanned the group, his gaze pausing for half a second on each person.

They were all Third-Grade Warriors with reasonably robust vitality. At Magic City Martial Arts University, they would have counted as minor experts.

Unfortunately, in his eyes, they were no different from kindergarteners.

"Threatening me?" Lu Chen chuckled. "Fine, since you are all so sincere, I'll play along with you."

"But, just fighting is so boring. How about we add a wager?"

Hearing the word "wager," Long Tao and his lackeys exchanged glances and laughed. They were afraid this kid wouldn't take the bait. As long as he dared to fight, they had plenty of ways to deal with him.

Now this kid was actually taking the initiative to ask for a wager? Was he tired of living?

"Haha, interesting!" Long Tao laughed loudly, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world.

"Sure! You name it, what do you want to bet? Money? Treasures? Or martial arts techniques? As long as you dare to say it, we dare to accept!"

In his view, someone like Lu Chen, who came from such a poor place, probably hadn't seen anything good in his entire life. Anything they brought out would be enough to stun him.

"Those things are too tacky." Lu Chen shook his head and held up a finger. "Let's bet credits."

"Doesn't your Martial God Academy measure everything with credits? As it happens, I just arrived, and I'm quite curious about this stuff."

Credits? Long Tao was stunned for a moment, then laughed even harder. Was this kid an idiot?

At the Martial God Academy, credits were a lifeline! More valuable than spirit stones! Exchanging for martial arts techniques, using training rooms, attending lectures by masters, and even eating three meals a day required credits.

It could be said that without credits, one couldn't take a single step in the Martial God Academy.

This group of aristocratic children received a large amount of credits from their families every month to help them grease palms and purchase resources.

Yet Lu Chen, an exchange student, only had a pitiful starting balance of one hundred credits. He actually dared to use credits to gamble?

"Sure!" The Pompadour interjected eagerly. "How much do you want to bet? One hundred credits? We'll take that bet!"

"Don't go crying to the teachers if you lose!" The others chimed in.

"Betting one hundred credits against him is basically bullying him!" "Exactly, isn't this just giving it away for free?"

Watching their smug faces as if they had already won, Lu Chen spoke slowly. "One hundred credits? Not enough. If we're going to bet, let's make it bigger."

He paused, then pulled out his student card and waved it in front of everyone. "If I lose, all the credits the school issues to this card over the next month will belong to you."

"Including mission rewards, various subsidies, everything."

Once these words were spoken, the whole place went quiet. Everyone looked at Lu Chen as if he were a madman.

All the credits for a month? That was a massive wager.

For a freshman, the first month's credits were crucial; they were the key to laying a good foundation.

If he lost them all, his month would basically be ruined. He would only be able to eat the worst nutritional meals, live in the worst dormitory, and wouldn't even be able to enter the basic training rooms. How was that any different from dropping out?

Long Tao's expression became playful. He had originally just wanted to give Lu Chen a warning and humiliate him, and that would have been enough. He hadn't expected this fish to swim onto the hook itself. And to strike so hard, at that.

"Are you sure?" Long Tao narrowed his eyes. "This is what you said yourself, don't go back on your word later."

"When have I, Lu Chen, ever gone back on my word?" Lu Chen yawned. "Now, it's time to talk about your wager. I can't be the only one betting, right?"

"Easy!" Long Tao patted his chest, acting bold and heroic. "If you lose, we take the credits. If we... if we lose..." He stammered.

He hadn't even considered the possibility of losing. An F-rank Talent piece of trash fighting seven or eight Third-Grade Warriors? It was impossible, even if you thought about it with your toes.

"If you lose..." Lu Chen finished the sentence for him. He pointed to his dilapidated dormitory. "See that? Room 303."

"From now on, you will be responsible for the cleaning of my dormitory. You must clean it once a day, and it must be spotless. That includes taking out the trash, doing laundry, and also..." Lu Chen thought for a moment. "Bringing me food. Three meals a day, delivered to my door. This request isn't too much, right?"

Silence. Deathly silence. The faces of Long Tao and his lackeys turned green instantly.

Cleaning? Taking out the trash? Doing laundry? And fucking bringing him food? What did he take them for? Servants? Menials?

Who were they? Young masters from the various major aristocratic families in the capital! Existences who could walk sideways in the Martial God Academy! Usually, others served them; when was it ever their turn to serve others?

This wasn't just humiliation. This was rubbing their faces into the dirt!

"You're fucking looking for death!" The Pompadour was the first to lose his temper, roaring as his vitality exploded, ready to charge forward.

"Stop!" Long Tao reached out and blocked him. His face was so gloomy it could drip water. He stared at Lu Chen and asked word by word, "Are you serious?"

"Of course." Lu Chen shrugged, looking innocent. "What? Can't afford to lose? Or are you saying you think you'll lose?"

"Bullshit!" Long Tao was thoroughly enraged. His reason had been burned away completely by anger.

If he didn't beat this ignorant bumpkin until he knelt and begged for mercy today, he would write his name, Long Tao, backwards!

"Fine! I'll take the bet!" Long Tao gritted his teeth and squeezed the words out from between them.

"If you can walk out of here standing today, our group of brothers will be your full-time nannies from now on! But if you lose..." Long Tao's eyes became fierce.

"I won't just take your credits, I also want you to crawl between my legs every day! How about it? Do you dare?"

More and more students gathered to watch the spectacle. Although the C-Block dormitory was remote, it wasn't uninhabited. Hearing the commotion, many people poked their heads out to look.

When they heard the details of the wager, they all gasped. Playing for such high stakes? This was trying to ruin someone completely!

Everyone's eyes focused on Lu Chen. They wanted to see how this seemingly ordinary exchange student would react when faced with a challenge that staked his dignity. Would he chicken out, or would he stand his ground to the end?

Under everyone's gaze, Lu Chen just lazily yawned. He pointed at the burliest guy behind Long Tao, a man nearly two meters tall with bulging muscles, looking like a bear.

"Don't waste time." Lu Chen's voice wasn't loud, but it clearly reached everyone's ears.

"All of you come at me together. If I lose, the credits are yours, and my dignity is yours too. If you lose..." Lu Chen grinned, revealing a row of white teeth. "You'll be responsible for the cleaning of my dormitory from now on."

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole crowd erupted in an uproar.
