202: Chapter 201 Elemental Resistance Maxed Out! Why is this monster so hard to beat? Luckily, there's Little Light.

Lin Feng took a deep breath and brought his hands together in front of his chest.

It wasn't eight-colored light, but two—crimson flames in his left hand and ice-blue frost in his right. Two completely opposite elemental energies spun, collided, and fused in his palms.

Ice and fire were mortal enemies in the hands of ordinary Cultivators; when they met, either the fire was extinguished or the ice melted. However, before the Fusion Talent, they were forced to coexist and compress within the same energy framework, finally forming a brand-new energy form—Cold Flame.

The temperature of Cold Flame wasn't just ordinary low temperature; it was an extreme low-temperature armor that froze from the inside, while the fire continued to burn at high temperatures on the inner side of the ice layer.

When this state was shattered by an external force, the internal high temperature would be released instantly, producing explosive damage several times stronger than pure fire element alone.

Lin Feng had tried ice-fire Fusion before, but the consumption was too great, the precision requirements too high, and the success rate unstable.

But now, his precision in elemental control was on a completely different level. He suppressed his aura to the minimum, compressed the ice and fire energies to the extreme, and then pushed his hands forward. A sphere of light, blue with a hint of red, shot out from his hands and slammed into the Void energy core on the monster's chest.

The Cold Flame didn't explode; instead, it first froze the vein-like patterns around the core. The ice-blue light spread rapidly along the vessels, freezing all the conduits around the core into ice in an extremely short time.

The monster's body stiffened abruptly. It looked down at the layer of ice shell rapidly spreading across its chest, letting out a confused low growl from its mouth.

The next second, the high-temperature flames inside the ice shell were instantly released—the ice shell was burned through from the inside, crimson firelight shone through, and the entire core area was engulfed by the Cold Flame implosion.

The monster let out a deafening roar as a basin-sized charred hole was blown into its chest, with grayish-white mist surging frantically out of the opening.

"Cold Flame is effective!"

Xiao Guang cried out in surprise.

"It's effective, but the damage isn't enough."

Lin Feng stared at the hole in the monster's chest, which was slowly healing.

The Cold Flame had indeed broken its defense, but the muscle tissue at the edge of the hole was regenerating at a speed visible to the naked eye—this monster's regenerative ability was on a completely different level compared to the small Fusion monster from before.

The Void energy core in its chest hadn't suffered fatal damage and was still pulsating.

The monster was clearly enraged by the Cold Flame.

It stopped attacking the light net trapping it and opened its mouth instead, gathering a dark purple energy ball—not the Void shockwave the small humanoid monster had spat out, but an Annihilation Breath that was larger, brighter, and spinning faster.

The energy ball spun rapidly, emitting a piercing whistle, as the free Void energy in the surrounding air converged toward its mouth.

Xiao Guang's Six Harmonies Heaven-Sealing Array already had cracks after absorbing two claw strikes; hit head-on by the Annihilation Breath, it shattered directly into a sky full of golden light spots.

Xiao Guang let out a muffled groan, his body swaying. His hands still maintained the seal-forming posture, but the golden light at his fingertips had dimmed considerably.

"Lin Feng, fifteen seconds. After that, I can only open the Taixu Defensive Formation; my mana isn't enough to dual-wield the attack Formation anymore."

"Fifteen seconds is enough."

Lin Feng brought his hands together again, this time with three elements—the earthy yellow power of the earth flowed into his left palm, crimson fire condensed in his right, and as the two forces fused, he also drew the purest light element from his Meridians to join them.

The heaviness of the earth power suppressed the tyranny of the fire, while the high temperature of the fire scorched the edges of the light element. The three energies collided frantically in his palm, forming a tri-colored light sphere that constantly expanded and compressed.

On the surface of the light sphere, the three colors were still spinning independently, but the edges had begun to fuse into a chaotic-colored halo—it wasn't stable yet, but it was enough.

The light sphere flew out, slamming into the healing hole on the monster's chest.

The earth's gravity field first suppressed the monster's movements, causing its healing process to pause briefly.

The fire followed closely, scorching the muscle tissue at the edge of the hole to prevent further regeneration.

Finally, the light element penetrated into the interior of the Void energy core and detonated inside.

The monster let out a roar more painful than before. The hole in its chest was blown deeper, the grayish-white light inside the core began to flicker unsteadily, and the frequency of the vessel pulsations dropped significantly.

It was working.

Lin Feng seized the opportunity to fire off several Fusion skills in succession—a light-fire composite Explosive Flame, an ice-earth composite Ice Rock Spike, and he even tried a wind-thunder composite Thunderstorm Tornado.

Each Fusion skill caused varying degrees of damage to the monster, and it finally began to retreat.

But at the same time, Lin Feng's mana was also depleting rapidly.

The mana consumed by Fusion skills was several times that of ordinary skills. Every time he activated one, he had to forcibly draw three different attributes of energy from his Meridians and fuse them together, placing a heavier burden on his body than expected.

He stole a glance at his attribute panel—his mana consumption had exceeded half, and although the monster was heavily injured, the light from the core in its chest still hadn't gone out.

"Just how tough is this thing?"

He couldn't help but curse under his breath.

The monster also seemed to realize that this human was not easy to deal with.

It stopped its attack and stood in place. The Void energy core in its chest suddenly accelerated its rotation, and a dark purple energy shockwave erupted from the core, spreading in all directions.

Lin Feng deployed his Taixu Shield just in time—the shockwave slammed into the light shield, making it shake violently and causing fine cracks to appear on its surface. The aftermath of the shockwave pushed him back several meters over the rubble-strewn ground, his boots plowing two shallow grooves into the earth.

The remaining shards of glass curtain walls in the surrounding ruins were shattered by the shockwave, raining down a clattering shower of glass.

When the shockwave dissipated, Lin Feng lowered his Taixu Shield and looked at the monster.

He suddenly remembered something.

When his parents entered the Void Corridor six years ago, what was their Rank?

According to Master, his father, Lin Zhan, was a combat-specialized Explorer with high affinity for dual attributes; his mother, Su Wan, was a data analyst and healer, skilled in ice-attribute attacks and battlefield analysis.

With the two of them cooperating, could they have defeated a Fusion monster of this level?

He was walking the same path as his parents—perhaps these ruins beneath his feet were the very route they had taken back then.

Perhaps this office building was the stronghold they chose to station themselves in while avoiding the Void Beast swarms.

Perhaps they had pushed open the same glass door, climbed over the same collapsed wall, and hidden in the same corner in the same posture, watching those Void Creatures wander in the darkness outside.

But he had the dragon slaying sword and the taixu sword, the star gauze armor, the capsule ship and Storage Pouch given by Master, Xiao Guang's Formations, and Xiao Jin's vigilance.

What did his parents have back then?

His father had a sword given by Master—of similar quality to the dragon slaying sword.

His mother had a combat notebook she had compiled herself, which recorded detailed data analysis of every battle.

They didn't have the Void Holy Beetle that could spray Soul-Confusing Incense, the ten-thousand-year-old artifact spirit proficient in Taixu Formations, the little golden tower that could automatically perform Alchemy, or the star gauze armor that could absorb impacts.

Yet they survived in the Void Corridor for a long time—not days, not weeks, but all the way from the peripheral city ruins deep into the interior, until they were not far from the circular building.

If this Fusion monster really was a guardian, and if what it was guarding really was related to his parents' clues—then he had to defeat it first to find out what was hidden in the office building.

"Xiao Guang, use the Six Harmonies Heaven-Sealing Array again. Not the miniature version this time, use the full version. I need a longer control duration."

Xiao Guang didn't ask why; he just nodded.

He took a deep breath and flew into mid-air, his hands forming seals faster than ever before.

Densely packed golden light lines shot from his fingertips, weaving into a massive light net in the air. Every strand of light was as fine as hair but as tough as steel wire. After spinning twice in the void, the light net suddenly expanded, opening in all directions like a slowly closing cage.

This time, he held nothing back—the full version of the Six Harmonies Heaven-Sealing Array required a larger one-time investment of mana, and during its maintenance, it couldn't be flexibly repaired like the miniature version.

But he knew Lin Feng needed time—absolute, undisturbed time.

The monster sensed the closing golden light lines in the surrounding space and raised its battle-axe to cleave the light net.

But this swing didn't go as it wished—the light net didn't break.

It wasn't because the light net had become stronger, but because Lin Feng had already used the cover of the light net to reach its back, and the dragon slaying sword slashed fiercely into the hollow of its left knee from a reverse angle.

Also at the joint of the carapace, the monster's left leg buckled, and the battle-axe nearly flew out of its hand.

It turned in rage and swept its tentacles, plowing a deep trench through the ruins. Several pieces of broken rebar were whipped away like noodles under the pressure of the tentacles, striking distant building wreckage and kicking up sparks.

Lin Feng had already dodged to its right. The taixu sword stabbed diagonally from his waist, silver-white runes leaving traces wherever the blade passed, slicing through the carapace at the joint connecting the right arm's battle-axe and the shoulder—that was also a weak point where Void energy had solidified.

The monster's arm was nearly severed.

It roared toward the sky, and the energy vortex generated by the high-speed rotation of the Void core in its chest sucked in all the rubble within a radius of dozens of meters.

Rubble, dust, glass shards, and broken vine fragments all suspended in mid-air, spinning around the core before suddenly exploding outward.

Lin Feng tried to dodge, but the fragments were too many and too fast. Although the Taixu Shield blocked most of them, several vine fragments as sharp as blades still grazed his left arm and ribs.

The star gauze armor absorbed the impact, but the Void energy contained in the fragments made half his arm go numb.

Xiao Jin poked his head out from Lin Feng's right shoulder and spat a cloud of Soul-Confusing Incense at the monster. The golden mist enveloped the monster's head, causing its eyes to roll briefly.

Although the control time was less than a breath, it was enough to safely move Xiao Guang out of the tentacles' attack range.

The Void Stone Scorpions on the periphery were still watching and hadn't come forward, only tightening their encirclement.

Xiao Jin's antennae stood high, and its six legs scraped the ground back and forth, letting out urgent chirps—it was warning Lin Feng that those Stone Scorpions weren't afraid to attack, but were waiting for the monster and Lin Feng to both be exhausted.

They had abandoned the rescue when the humanoid monster was captured earlier, but this one was clearly of a higher Rank in the core area—they didn't retreat, but instead surrounded the entire office building area in a seamless encirclement.

"Lin Feng, thirty seconds!"

Xiao Guang shouted.

The Six Harmonies Heaven-Sealing Array had completely locked down the space around the monster. The pressure of the full version made it impossible for the monster to swing its axe or lash its tentacles anymore; it could only continuously use Void energy shockwaves to wear down the light net.

Lin Feng knew this was his chance for the final strike.

He plunged the dragon slaying sword into the ground and brought his hands together in front of his chest.

Not three elements, not four—eight-colored light surged from his palms simultaneously.

This time, he didn't strive for balance but consciously adjusted the ratio of the eight elements—adding twenty percent more light element, compressing the dark element to its minimum, and increasing the concentration of the earth and fire elements.

He was attempting to use all-element Fusion to create an energy combination that could counteract the neutralization effect of Void energy.

The energy collided, repelled, and was forcibly fused in his palms.

A tearing pain came from his Meridians—the load of all-element Fusion on the Meridians was too great, an order of magnitude higher than the Law of Heaven and Earth. But unlike the Law of Heaven and Earth, which required sustained Meridian support, all-element Fusion was a one-time instantaneous burst. As long as he could blast the energy out before his Meridians collapsed, the cost of the instant strain would be much lighter than the consequence of broken Meridians.

The eight-colored light sphere spun and compressed rapidly, and he pushed his hands forward.

The light sphere slammed into the Void energy core on the monster's chest, and the eight-colored light exploded all at once.

The shockwave sent rubble flying across the entire street, glass curtain wall shards from the office building poured down like rain, and several rusted steel structural frames let out overburdened creaks.

After the dust settled, visible cracks appeared on the Void energy core in the monster's chest for the first time.

It staggered back several steps, the tentacles on its left arm dragging powerlessly on the ground, and the battle-axe in its right arm finally flew out of its hand, smashing into the ruins of a building and crushing half a wall to powder.

But it still hadn't fallen.

Lin Feng rested his hands on his knees, gasping for breath.

His mana consumption had exceeded most of his reserves, and his Meridians throbbed with pain.

The damage from the eight-element Fusion had exceeded the load his Meridians could bear. Although it was only a brief instant, the consumption was indeed too high.

He stood up, pulled the dragon slaying sword from the ground, and walked toward the monster.

Just then, a faint sound suddenly came from deep within the office building—not the roar of a Void Creature, nor the crumbling of building wreckage.

It was the crisp sound of metal being touched.

Lin Feng stopped in his tracks.

The Storage Ring he had picked up earlier was still lying quietly inside his void mithril ring.

Perhaps opening this Storage Ring would reveal some clues!
