49: Obtain divine equipment
Zhou Xing really didn't know much about equipment and weapons.
However, with the permissions promised by Bei Chen, Zhou Xing could directly access most of the Star City Watchers' data.
Turning on the equipment in his room, Zhou Xing typed in "equipment."
Instantly, a vast amount of information appeared before him on the holographic screen.
After reading through it, Zhou Xing realized the importance of divinity equipment.
Most Awakened Ones, whether they fought in close quarters or from a distance, primarily used energy condensation for their attacks.
For example, Zhou Xing could use energy to condense ice blades, ice spikes, ice spears, and the like.
However, for many Awakened Ones accustomed to close-quarters combat, a Divine Weapon could significantly amplify their attack strength.
The same attack, when unleashed through a Divine Weapon, would be even more powerful.
However, crafting Divine Weapons required very rare Divine-bearing Materials, making them extremely precious.
For many Awakened Ones used to long-range attacks, weapons were somewhat redundant.
But divine defensive equipment was vital for every Awakened One.
A good piece of Divine Battle Armor was equivalent to giving an Awakened One an extra life.
After resting for the night, the next day, Zhou Xing contacted Yun Feng to have her take him to the Weapon Forging Department.
As the saying goes, it's easier to get things done with connections; although Zhou Xing had an access card, anyone would naturally be wary of a new face.
Star City's Weapon Forging Department was located on the bottom floor of the Watchers Headquarters, hundreds of meters underground.
Pushing open the heavy alloy doors, a heatwave rushed toward them, and in the very center, a device resembling a forging furnace was in operation.
Robotic arms were currently performing their respective duties with precision, crafting various parts of weapons or battle armor.
Standing next to the forging furnace was a short old man with a graying beard.
He was shirtless, his muscles lean and powerful, and his skin was covered in mysterious patterns.
At first glance, he looked quite similar to the Dwarf Race Zhou Xing had heard of.
This race was best known for crafting equipment.
"Is that little Yun Feng? And this must be the Zhou Xing that fellow Bei Chen mentioned to me, right?"
The old man turned his head to look at them, but his hands didn't stop; his heavy hammer slammed down onto a piece of glowing red metal, sending sparks flying everywhere.
Yun Feng bowed: "Elder Tie, I've brought Zhou Xing here to select some suitable equipment."
Only then did the old man stop his work. He looked at Zhou Xing, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth. "Triple-element Fusion, and you've reached the Initial Control Stage. Especially being able to perfectly fuse the two opposing divinities of ice and fire—not bad. Star City hasn't seen a Genius like you in many years."
"Follow me."
He then led the two of them deeper into the Weapon Forging Department.
Passing through rows of shelves displaying various Ore Materials, the two followed the old man into a separate private chamber.
In the center of the chamber floated a set of silver-white battle armor, its surface gleaming, with various colored patterns faintly visible and interwoven.
"I've named it 'starfall'; it's one of my proudest works." Elder Tie took down the armor, looking at it as if it were his own child.
"Once activated, it can withstand a full-strength strike from the Late Stage of the Celestial Phenomenon Realm. A regular Celestial Phenomenon Realm expert wouldn't be able to break its defense within three minutes of going all out."
"As for those below the Celestial Phenomenon Realm, no one can break it. If it weren't for that fellow Bei Chen's repeated requests, and the fact that you have a Triple-element Fusion, I would never have given it to you so easily."
Both Yun Feng and Zhou Xing were shocked; they hadn't expected the armor's defense to be so exaggerated.
Elder Tie chuckled. "This is also because Bei Chen and I believe you can make it into the Special Training Camp. That way, our Star City Watcher Stronghold can receive more resource allocation."
Then, Elder Tie narrowed his eyes at Zhou Xing. "However, you must promise me one condition. As compensation, I will personally gift you a Divine Weapon suitable for your current use."
Zhou Xing pondered for a moment and looked at Elder Tie. "What condition?"
"Don't worry, I value your future; this condition won't make things difficult for you." Elder Tie waved his hand. "When the time is right, I will naturally tell you."
Seeing Yun Feng nod at him, Zhou Xing no longer hesitated. "Alright, I accept your condition."
The smile on Elder Tie's face widened. With a wave of his hand, the Divine Battle Armor turned into a streak of light, instantly covering Zhou Xing's body.
The entire set of Divine Battle Armor was made of an unknown material that automatically conformed to the user's body, feeling like an extra layer of skin without any discomfort.
Furthermore, Zhou Xing felt a close connection form between himself and the armor.
"You can give it a try," Elder Tie said.
With a thought from Zhou Xing, the starfall armor was instantly activated. The metal on its surface flowed like liquid, completely covering Zhou Xing and leaving only his eyes exposed.
"Even when not activated, it can automatically sense lethal danger and activate in advance," Elder Tie explained.
"However, after each activation, depending on the level of consumption, it needs enough divine energy crystals to recharge. But for normal situations, it's sufficient for now. Below the Celestial Phenomenon Realm, unless the opponent has a powerful Divine Weapon, it's impossible to break its defense."
Zhou Xing moved around; the armor didn't hinder his movements in the slightest.
"As for the weapon..."
Thinking of Zhou Xing's triple attributes, Elder Tie was also a bit troubled.
Leading the two out of the private chamber, he walked over to a shelf where weapons were stored.
At the very top sat a relatively large rectangular metal box.
After taking it down and opening it, Zhou Xing saw a piece of pitch-black metal lying inside.
The entire spear looked as if it were made from a single piece, its shaft covered in complex divine patterns.
"'judgment' is what I've named it. It's a synthesis of Memory Metal fused with various mysterious Materials. It has no restrictions on the type of divinity, and after it recognizes its master, it can change into various forms based on your thoughts."
Elder Tie took out the metal and tossed it to Zhou Xing. "Pour your divine power into it to claim ownership. Give it a try."
Zhou Xing caught the metal and poured his internal divine energy into it. Instantly, the entire piece of metal began to contract, change, and rotate automatically.
Then, with a thought from Zhou Xing, the metal instantly transformed into a short blade; with another change, it became a long spear.
Finally, Zhou Xing had it transform into a ring that wrapped around his wrist.
Knowing without a doubt how precious this metal called "judgment" was, Zhou Xing hurriedly bowed to Elder Tie in thanks.
"Hehe, as long as you like it. You'll discover its true power the more you use it in the future. No matter what kind of divinity it is, it can achieve an amplification effect."
Elder Tie said with a smile and a wave of his hand, though a trace of heartache flashed deep in his eyes.
He had originally intended to forge this metal into a weapon suitable for the Celestial Phenomenon Realm.
But considering the generous terms Bei Chen had promised him, Elder Tie decided to do him this favor.
Meanwhile, Yun Feng remained silent, her gaze fixed on a golden spear on the shelf...
