17: Chapter 17 Training Through Hunting

The fierce tiger drinking by the river had extremely high vigilance and discovered them in an instant.

It let out an angry roar, gave up drinking, and with a turn of its lithe body, lunged toward Gao Feng, who posed the greatest threat.

"Loose arrows!" Gao Feng gave the order.

On the rocks above, Luo Qin, Luo Qi, and the others had long since drawn their bows and nocked their arrows.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" Five feathered arrows, accompanied by sharp whistling, cut through the sky and headed straight for the fierce tiger.

The fierce tiger twisted its body nimbly in mid-air, dodging most of the arrows, but one still grazed its hind leg, leaving a trail of blood.

Driven by the pain, the fierce tiger became even more ferocious.

But at this moment, Big Fool had already rushed up from the other side, roaring, wielding those great hammers, and smashing down with the force of ten thousand jun!

The fierce tiger sensed a fatal threat and dared not take the blow head-on, forced to abandon its attack on Gao Feng and scramble to the side in a panic.

"Boom!" The iron hammers smashed into the ground, sending gravel flying and leaving a terrifying pit.

Opportunity!

"Kill!" Seeing this, the ten soldiers ambushed on both sides immediately charged out with shouts, their steel blades glinting coldly in the sunlight, and according to the tactics they had practiced countless times, hacked fiercely at the fierce tiger's flank.

However, the plan was perfect, but reality was harsh.

After all, these new recruits were facing such a ferocious beast for the first time.

When the fierce tiger's eyes, filled with violent intent, swept over them, several people's legs instantly went weak, and they felt dread in their hearts.

A new recruit on the right flank, due to excessive nervousness, was a beat slow with his strike. The fierce tiger seized the opening, and with a powerful sweep of its tiger tail, lashed out at his chest like a steel whip.

"Pfft!" The new recruit screamed, spat out blood, and flew backward. Fortunately, he was protected by simple leather armor, or he would have been disemboweled on the spot.

The formation instantly fell into a moment of chaos.

Gao Feng's eyes narrowed. He immediately abandoned his frontal assault, his figure flickering as he appeared at the side of the fierce tiger. His steel blade whistled as he hacked fiercely at its waist, forcing it to abandon the pursuit and thereby saving the new recruit.

The battle fell into a stalemate for a time.

The ferocity and tenacity of the fierce tiger exceeded everyone's imagination.

Just then, Luo Qin, from her high vantage point, once again displayed her god-like archery skills.

She held her breath, her eyes sharp as lightning, and the moment the fierce tiger landed from a pounce, she decisively released the bowstring.

"Swish!" This arrow was fast, accurate, and ruthless!

It struck the fierce tiger's left eye dead on!

"Awoo—!" The fierce tiger let out an earth-shattering, miserable howl, and blood instantly blurred its vision.

Driven by excruciating pain, it became completely crazed, biting and lunging indiscriminately at friend and foe alike. Its massive body also developed a huge opening due to the loss of an eye.

"Big Fool, smash it!" Gao Feng seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and let out a clear, explosive shout.

Upon hearing Gao Feng's order, Big Fool did not hesitate, a trace of excited red light flashing in his eyes.

He swung those heavy iron hammers again, using all his strength, and smashed them down fiercely onto the head of the still-struggling fierce tiger!

"Bang—!" This time, it was no longer a dull thud.

It was a teeth-grinding, crisp sound, like a watermelon exploding!

That arrogant fierce tiger's massive head had been smashed by this hammer blow, its skull shattered, and red and white brains mixed with blood splashed everywhere like a watermelon!

The massive body collapsed to the ground, convulsed violently twice, and then completely ceased all signs of life.

This bloody and shocking scene left all the new recruits stunned, followed by an outburst of heavy breathing from those who had survived the ordeal.

Although the first combat hunt was a success, it also exposed a multitude of problems.

That evening, Gao Feng gathered everyone who had participated in the hunt for a serious post-battle review.

He pointed out everyone's mistakes without mercy and emphasized the huge advantage that long-range weapons like bows and arrows could provide in mountain warfare.

Looking at the plain, unremarkable ox-horn bow in Luo Qin's hands, his desire for long-range attacks became even stronger.

The next day, Gao Feng set aside his status as Stockade Master and found Luo Qin, who was practicing in the training field, to formally ask her for archery instruction.

This gesture left Luo Qin flattered, and the surrounding soldiers were even more impressed by this Stockade Master who was not ashamed to ask for advice.

"Stockade Master, you... you are flattering me too much. How can I, with my meager skills, dare to teach you..." Luo Qin held her bow, at a loss, her pretty face slightly flushed.

Gao Feng smiled and said, half-jokingly and half-seriously, "The capable are teachers. In archery, you are my teacher. What, is Teacher Luo unwilling to accept this dull-witted student?"

This "Teacher Luo" made Luo Qin's heart tremble. Both shy and embarrassed, she quickly waved her hands, "I dare not, I dare not. If the Stockade Master wants to learn, Qiner will certainly teach everything she knows."

However, the scene that followed dealt a heavy blow to Luo Qin, who was the "teacher."

Gao Feng's Aptitude was truly terrifying.

Relying on his past life as a top sniper, his absolute control over wind speed, distance, and trajectory prediction, as well as his super-strong physique and terrifying vision modified by the spirit spring space.

He picked it up extremely quickly.

From missing the target and hitting off-center in the beginning, within half a day, he could already hit every shot within fifty paces!

This inhuman speed of progress was so fast that Luo Qin went from initial surprise to numbness midway, and finally, looking at Gao Feng's focused profile, a hint of indescribable frustration and... admiration, which she herself had not even noticed, appeared in her eyes.

In the process of teaching, the two inevitably had more close contact.

When Gao Feng's posture was incorrect, Luo Qin would muster the courage to step forward and offer gentle guidance.

When she stood behind him to help him adjust his draw, the intense masculine scent on Gao Feng, mixed with a faint smell of sweat, made her breathing somewhat disordered.

And Gao Feng would also, after her careful instruction, sincerely praise her, "You really teach well; I feel like I've found the knack."

This simple praise always caused a hint of sweetness to ripple in Luo Qin's heart.

The atmosphere between the two, amidst the repeated vibrations of the bowstring and the unintentional touches, quietly warmed up and became somewhat subtle.

That night, Gao Feng sent someone to call Luo Qin to his residence, saying there were some matters to discuss.

When Luo Qin walked into Gao Feng's room with a mix of apprehension and curiosity, she found him just sitting quietly at the table drinking water.

"Stockade Master, you were looking for me?" Luo Qin asked softly.

Gao Feng looked up, staring at her with burning eyes. He didn't speak, just reached out his hand toward her.

Luo Qin's heart skipped a beat, and she instantly understood the meaning in those eyes.

Her cheeks instantly flushed bright red, her heart pounding like a deer, but looking at that broad and powerful hand, she hesitated for a moment, and finally, submissively and slowly, placed her own slightly cool little hand into it.

Gao Feng pulled hard, drawing her into his arms.

After several bouts of passion, Luo Qin was already exhausted, curled up in the crook of Gao Feng's arm, panting softly, and fell into a deep sleep.

But Gao Feng felt no drowsiness.

He immediately sank his consciousness into the spirit spring space.

However, the scene before him made his brows knit slightly.

The spirit spring space had not changed at all.

Whether it was the area of the land or the size of the spring, it was exactly the same as when he had entered last time.

He recalled the situation a few days ago when, after being intimate with Su Yue, the spirit spring space had similarly undergone no changes.

"It seems... only the first time with each woman can cause the spirit spring space to change?"

This discovery left him feeling both slightly disappointed and yet resigned to it as a matter of course.

If it could grow infinitely, that would be too Heaven-Defying.

He looked at Luo Qin, who was sleeping peacefully in his arms, his eyes devoid of much lust, but instead filled with calm calculation.

"The Four Luo Sisters, there are still Luo Shu and Luo Hua left... Luo Shu is proficient in mathematics, and Luo Hua excels in painting; both are rare talents... In a few days, should I go after Luo Shu first, or Luo Hua?"

The corners of his mouth curled into a playful arc.

"Hmm... having both together is not impossible..."
