83: Seeking a blessed land
After Lu Yang entered the inner sect, his first priority was to find an Immortal Cave for a long-term residence.
He had already planned it out; the Immortal Cave he needed was by no means a temporary resting place, but a Foundation capable of supporting long-term Cultivation, Alchemy, and the cultivation of spirit plants.
This place had to be quiet and stable, far from the main thoroughfares where Inner Sect Disciples traveled, and capable of housing more than three Quiet Chambers for dedicated Cultivation. Each chamber needed pre-carved grooves for setting up Formations to ensure he would not be disturbed while Cultivating.
Furthermore, there had to be an independent Pill Refining Room with enough space to accommodate a Pill Furnace, medicine shelves, and a workbench. The floor had to be tamped and level, and the walls needed to withstand high temperatures, facilitating his intensive study of the Dao of Alchemy and the refining of various Medicinal Pills.
Most crucially, there had to be sufficiently open ground near the Immortal Cave with deep soil and even Spiritual Qi penetration, enough to Cultivate at least three mu of Spirit Fields to grow the various spirit plants needed for Alchemy. Additionally, the Spirit Fields needed to be near a water source for easy irrigation and maintenance.
With these detailed requirements, Lu Yang traversed the various mountain gates, valley streams, and cliffside Spiritual Lands of the inner sect. At every location, he carefully surveyed the concentration of Spiritual Qi, the terrain layout, and the surrounding environment, while also inquiring with the duty Disciples about land prices and transfer conditions.
However, Immortal Caves that met the requirements for the number of Quiet Chambers and the specifications of the Pill Refining Room were often located in the core areas of the inner sect. Not only were the prices exorbitant, but the space was also extremely cramped; most were carved into the mountainside with only a small clearing outside, leaving no room at all to develop Spirit Fields.
On the other hand, areas at the foot of mountains with gentle slopes and the potential for Spirit Fields were often near Marketplaces or training grounds, making them noisy and crowded. Furthermore, the underground Spiritual Vein branches there were weak, and the Spiritual Qi was thin and dissipated, falling far short of the requirements for Cultivation and spirit plant cultivation.
Searching in this manner for nearly half a month, during which he spent many Spirit Stones gathering information and renting temporary Immortal Caves, he still failed to find a place he liked.
Finally, through the introduction of a Disciple who spent his years wandering the inner sect dealing in information, Lu Yang turned his gaze toward the prototype of a Blessed Land hidden on the edge of the inner sect, which had not yet been claimed by any major mountain gate.
The geography of this place was unique, surrounded by three towering peaks that formed a natural barrier. The entrance was hidden and hard to find, and three underground Spiritual Veins converged in a surging flow. The total amount of Spiritual Qi was exceptionally abundant, and the mist lingering in the mountains carried a faint spiritual rhythm.
However... this Spiritual Qi was quite peculiar. It was not dominated by a single attribute like gold, wood, water, fire, or earth as in ordinary Spiritual Lands. Instead, the Five Elements Spiritual Qi were heterogeneously interwoven, mixed together like a spilled palette, with subtle attribute collisions occurring from time to time as they flowed.
Although each type of Spiritual Qi was present, none were pure or prominent enough. Constrained by one another, the Qi appeared mediocre and chaotic, making it difficult for Cultivators with a single Spiritual Root to absorb it efficiently.
For this reason, those sects that sought pure, single-attribute Spiritual Veins to facilitate the Cultivation of their core Cultivation Techniques looked upon this place with utter disdain, leaving it abandoned and idle. It was not even listed in the inner sect's registry of Spiritual Lands.
This seemingly heterogeneous and mediocre flaw, in Lu Yang's eyes, instantly transformed into an unparalleled advantage!
What he possessed was the Six-attribute Mixed Spiritual Root, which was viewed almost as Trash in the cultivation world. In addition to the Five Elements, he also had a trace of a rare Space Spiritual Root. To him, the pure Spiritual Qi of ordinary Spiritual Lands was like unbalanced nutrition; absorbing and converting it was twice the effort for half the result, extremely inefficient, and prone to causing an imbalance of Spiritual Qi within his body.
But the Spiritual Land before him, with all Five Elements present, a mixed aura, and hidden spatial fluctuations, was practically tailor-made for him!
Heterogeneous? No, this was exactly the balanced nutrition his multi-attribute Spiritual Root required! This mixed Spiritual Qi was the perfect soil for him to absorb and convert simultaneously, avoiding the overabundance of any single-attribute Qi!
Without much hesitation, Lu Yang made a prompt decision. He took out the Spirit Stones he had saved over the years and sold several batches of Medium Grade Medicinal Pills he had previously refined at a discount. Having gathered a huge sum, he purchased this "chicken rib" land—tasteless to eat but a pity to discard in the eyes of others—officially bringing it under his name.
Standing at the summit of the peak, looking down at the mist-shrouded land where Spiritual Qi flowed, a burning light flashed in his eyes.
He knew that this place of mixed Five Elements and hidden mysteries was the perfect starting point for him, a six-Spiritual Root Cultivator, to bide his time like a hidden Dragon and accumulate strength for a future breakthrough!
.
After Lu Yang bought this Blessed Land of mixed Five Elements, he immediately set about renovating it.
First, he set up various Spirit-Gathering Formations to organize the chaotic Spiritual Qi, ensuring that while the Five Elements coexisted, they flowed in an orderly fashion, making it particularly suitable for his mixed Spiritual Root.
Subsequently, he opened several Quiet Chambers, built a dedicated Pill Refining Room, and used Breathing Earth to Cultivate a Spirit Field at the confluence of Spiritual Qi.
Under the joint renovation of him and Mu Wanqing, in just a few short days, this neglected land was transformed into a Foundation that perfectly met Lu Yang's needs.
The abundant yet mixed Spiritual Qi had instead become an advantage, with Quiet Chambers, a Pill Refining Room, and Spirit Fields all fully equipped.
With the Immortal Cave completed, the Five Elements Spiritual Qi flowed unceasingly under the organization of the Formations.
Standing within it, the five-attribute Spiritual Root inside Lu Yang's body resonated strongly with this mixed Qi, and his absorption efficiency far exceeded what it had been before.
Feeling a sudden inspiration, he pointed his fingers like a sword, his spiritual power penetrating the stone as he carved four vigorous characters onto the lintel of the Immortal Cave:
"Five Spirits Grotto-heaven."
This name not only referred to the convergence of the Five Elements' sources but also carried the meaning of the beginning of the Dao's laws.
This place would be the Foundation for his exploration of the Dao exclusive to mixed Spiritual Roots...
