110: Star River Gate

Mu Yurou nodded forcefully, tears welling up in her eyes.

Lin Feng looked at the solitary Mu Yurou before him, then sensed the pain inside his body, which, though not eradicated, had significantly lessened. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "This place is not suitable for long stays. If Miss Mu has nowhere to go, I can escort you for a while."

He needed this soothing power, and leaving her alone in this perilous place was also not what he desired.

Mu Yurou wiped away her tears: "Thank you, Senior. Yurou... truly doesn't know what to do."

Her thoughts were simple; she only felt that although this savior's aura was cold, he was kind-hearted, completely unaware of the calculations in Lin Feng's mind.

Just then, a sound of rushing air suddenly came from the distant horizon, approaching rapidly.

Lin Feng immediately grew alert, his Divine Sense silently spreading out. Mu Yurou also looked up, gazing through tear-filled eyes.

Several streaks of bright white Escaping Light cut through the mist, landing lightly not far away.

The light receded, revealing five Cultivators, all uniformly dressed in pale moonlight-white robes, their cuffs embroidered with intricate star patterns in silver thread, appearing quite refined.

Lin Feng's gaze narrowed slightly. He had never seen the style of these robes, but judging by the circulation of spiritual light, they should be the uniform of a Sect.

The person leading them had a handsome face and smiling eyes, and his aura was harmonious, possessing the cultivation base of Foundation Establishment Mid-stage.

That person quickly surveyed the scene, stepped forward, and focused directly on Mu Yurou, cupping his hands in a salute toward her:

"Is this Bishui Palace's Fairy Mu? I am Yun Tianhe of the Star River Sect, specially ordered by my Revered Master to come and meet you.

We received a message from your Palace en route saying there might be complications on this trip. We traveled day and night, but unexpectedly, we still arrived a step late and startled the Fairy. I am truly ashamed."

When Mu Yurou saw the distinctive robes and heard the other party accurately state her Sect and identity, her tense mind immediately relaxed:

"So it's a Senior Brother from the Star River Sect. That's wonderful. Revered Master... she really did arrange for backup."

However, Lin Feng, standing aside, frowned slightly. This team appeared too coincidentally.

Moreover, beneath their spiritual energy fluctuations, there seemed to be a faint trace of deliberately suppressed, sinister Evil Qi. This Evil Qi was extremely subtle; if his Divine Sense had not far surpassed his peers, and if he hadn't just gone through a life-or-death battle, it would have been almost undetectable.

Yun Tianhe smiled and smoothly took over the conversation: "Fairy, don't worry. Before we left, the Sect Leader repeatedly instructed us to ensure the Fairy's safety and secure arrival at Moon Gazing Cliff."

As he spoke, his gaze naturally turned to Lin Feng, who was silent at his side, "And this Fellow Daoist is...?"

Lin Feng suppressed the doubts in his heart, his expression calm, and gave a false name, saying only that he was a passing Loose Cultivator.

Hearing this, the respect on Yun Tianhe's face intensified, and he solemnly cupped his hands again: "Fellow Daoist is highly righteous. I, Yun, thank the Fellow Daoist on behalf of Bishui Palace for the assistance. If it weren't for the Fellow Daoist, the consequences would have been unimaginable."

When Mu Yurou naively said, "It was thanks to this Senior who saved me," Yun Tianhe smiled and agreed, but the look he gave Lin Feng held an inexplicable meaning.

Mu Yurou was completely unaware and said to Lin Feng, "Senior, the Star River Sect and my Bishui Palace have been friendly for generations. With the Senior Brothers of the Star River Sect with us, we will be even safer."

Lin Feng was suspicious, but seeing Mu Yurou's trust, and lacking concrete evidence himself, he couldn't expose them directly and could only remain secretly vigilant.

After the groups merged, they flew low along the edge of the winding marsh.

Yun Tianhe controlled a Flying Sword, seemingly casually flying to Lin Feng's side, walking alongside him.

"Fellow Daoist displayed extraordinary skill just now. May I ask which immortal mountain you Cultivate on? Judging by your Cultivation Technique, it doesn't seem to be from a nearby Sect's lineage." Yun Tianhe's tone was relaxed, like casual conversation, but his gaze swept over Lin Feng, trying to catch every fluctuation of spiritual energy.

Lin Feng's expression was calm, the wine immortal gourd's speed did not decrease, and he responded indifferently: "A Loose Cultivator from the mountains and wilds, who accidentally obtained the legacy of a predecessor and Cultivated haphazardly. It's nothing worth mentioning."

Yun Tianhe chuckled, not pressing the issue further, and changed the subject: "For a Loose Cultivator to achieve this much, it shows the Fellow Daoist's extraordinary talent even more. But..."

He slightly changed his tone and lowered his voice, "The world is treacherous, and people's hearts are hard to gauge. Fairy Mu is simple-minded, so we must be extra cautious. I hope Fellow Daoist doesn't mind."

Lin Feng sneered inwardly, but his expression remained unchanged: "That is understandable."

After several probes, seeing that Lin Feng responded steadily and his aura showed no abnormality, a hint of disdain flashed in Yun Tianhe's eyes. He seemed to conclude that Lin Feng was merely an ordinary Loose Cultivator with good luck, not worth worrying about.

He stopped bothering Lin Feng and flew toward Mu Yurou: "Saintess, you must be startled. The cold Qi in this marsh is heavy. I have a 'Warm Sun Pill' here that can dispel the chill." He took out an exquisite jade bottle.

Mu Yurou quickly waved her hand: "Thank you, Senior Brother Yun, I'm fine."

Yun Tianhe did not give up. While handing over the Medicinal Pill, he sighed as if unintentionally:

"Alas, the Palace Master entrusted such a heavy responsibility to the Fairy, likely valuing the Fairy's innocent heart. However, the outside world is unlike the Palace. Some people seem to offer help, but who knows if they have ulterior motives? Saintess, you must be extra careful, and do not trust people easily." As he said this, he glanced at Lin Feng.

Mu Yurou followed his gaze and saw Lin Feng merely flying in silence. Recalling his decisiveness when he saved her and his composure throughout the journey, although she didn't believe Lin Feng was a bad person, Yun Tianhe's words were like a small pebble, stirring a slight ripple in the calm lake of her heart.

She lowered her head and softly replied, "Yurou understands."

Yun Tianhe seemed satisfied and said no more, simply directing the team to maintain vigilance and fly forward.

After flying for about an hour, a stretch of hilly terrain appeared ahead. The topography was complex, and the mist was a bit heavier than in the marsh area.

Yun Tianhe raised his hand to signal the team to stop. He controlled his Flying Sword and approached Mu Yurou: "Fairy, the terrain ahead is complex; there might be ambushes or Yao Beasts lurking. Everyone has consumed a fair amount of spiritual energy from continuous travel. It would be safer to rest here briefly, recover, and then proceed."

Mu Yurou did feel somewhat tired. She looked at the misty area ahead and nodded: "Senior Brother Yun is thoughtful. We will follow your suggestion."

The team slowly landed on a relatively flat clearing among the hills. The Star River Sect Disciples spread out to keep watch, while Yun Tianhe personally set up a simple early warning Formation around them.

Mu Yurou found a clean stone to sit on and began adjusting her breathing.

Lin Feng walked alone to a slightly distant dead tree and sat down, leaning against the trunk. He felt terrible at the moment. The burning pain in his Meridians was becoming clearer, like hot coals rolling inside, and cold sweat constantly seeped from his forehead.

However, just as he closed his eyes, attempting to focus his mind and calm his Qi, that familiar, even fiercer heat surged up from his Dantian, instantly sweeping through his entire body.

His body swayed, and he nearly collapsed beside the tree.

"Senior." Mu Yurou had been secretly watching Lin Feng. Seeing this situation, she cried out and rushed over without hesitation.

Ignoring the presence of others, she quickly formed hand seals. A soft, pure blue halo blossomed from her fingertips, and she gently pressed them toward Lin Feng's temples.
