8: Nirvana Training Camp Incident

Four hours quietly passed amidst everyone's anticipation and excitement, and the spaceship landed steadily at Blood City airport.

Looking out the spaceship's porthole, three other spaceships were already parked at the airport.

Including the one from Feng City, students from four cities had already arrived in Blood City.

At this time, buses arranged by Blood City were neatly parked at the edge of the airport.

Each bus was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating fifty people.

Teacher Zhou Xingchen systematically led one hundred junior high students from Nirvana Martial High to two buses.

These buses would go directly to the training camp, a mere half-hour drive from the airport.

When the training camp was first built, it was planned on a massive scale to accommodate 100,000 people.

Therefore, the arrangements for 50,000 students to move in and 50,000 staff members to maintain the training camp were meticulously calculated; everything proceeded in an orderly fashion without any errors or omissions.

The entire training camp was enormous, covering an area of five kilometers in diameter.

At this stage, the training camp alone accounted for one-third of Blood City's main urban area.

The training camp was meticulously divided into 14 sections, with the mysterious blood origin throne as the center, and a one-kilometer radius around it forming the core area.

Here, 53,300 independent cultivation rooms stood, each occupying 40 square meters and thoughtfully equipped with an independent bathroom.

Among them, the 8th to 10th ring areas were specifically designed for second-tier martial artists, with 30,000 independent cultivation rooms.

The 5th to 7th ring areas were suitable for third-tier martial artists, with 20,000 independent cultivation rooms.

The 2nd to 4th ring areas were prepared for fourth-tier martial artists, housing 3,000 independent cultivation rooms.

And the innermost 1st ring area was reserved for fifth-tier martial artists, with only 300 independent cultivation rooms.

Beyond the core area, there was also a thousand-meter-wide middle ring area.

Various fully functional buildings were constructed here, along with a bustling commercial street.

The commercial street was filled with a dazzling array of goods, making it convenient for students to purchase all necessary supplies.

The outermost three-kilometer circular area was evenly divided into 12 sections.

Numerous residential buildings were constructed here, half of which served as student dormitories and the other half as staff dormitories.

The student dormitories in the training camp were all single rooms, providing students with relatively independent space.

Lin Chen's dormitory was in Room 1111, Building 9, Feng City District, and his classmates who came with him all lived in Building 9, on floors 11 to 15, with 20 rooms per floor.

After Lin Chen saw his dormitory and tidied up a bit, he went out to look for Zhou Heshan.

When Lin Chen found Zhou Heshan, he discovered that he was already chatting animatedly with Lin Fan, enthusiastically preparing to organize classmates for a dinner gathering in the middle ring area.

After all, it was everyone's first time leaving Feng City and coming to such a strange and novel place, so naturally, they all wanted to go out, explore, and taste the unique local delicacies.

It must be said that Zhou Heshan truly lived up to his reputation as the most knowledgeable about gossip; even though everyone was new to this training camp, he was as familiar with it as if he were a native, arranging everything for his classmates perfectly and considering every aspect.

Compared to Lin Fan, Zhou Heshan seemed more like the class monitor who could rally everyone with a single call.

However, at this moment, everyone was immersed in novelty and excitement, and no one paid attention to these details.

Everyone sat around the dining table, enjoying Blood City's unique blood-based cuisine.

The unique flavor spread on their tongues; it was everyone's first time tasting it, and they were instantly deeply attracted, becoming somewhat infatuated with this distinct deliciousness.

After dinner, the classmates dispersed in twos and threes, ready to explore the middle ring area and discover this novel place.

Lin Chen, however, preferred quiet and was not keen on wandering around, so he found an elegantly decorated beverage shop, ordered a cold drink, and sat leisurely inside, waiting for Zhou Heshan to return from gathering information.

After about half an hour, Zhou Heshan finally returned.

But he wasn't alone; Oriental Red Sleeve, Lin Fan, Wang Ranran, Li Weijun, Dongfang Li, Zhou Heming, and several other classmates also walked into the beverage shop with him.

Seeing that everyone's expressions were not very good, Lin Chen couldn't help but ask with confusion.

“What's wrong, everyone?”

Zhou Heshan said with a serious expression.

“Brother Chen, we just heard some inside information: someone used their connections to reserve positions in the inner ring.”

“Ah?”

This news was like a bombshell, catching Lin Chen off guard.

Zhou Heshan continued: “I heard they're not from our side, but from a more distant city. The specific information is tightly sealed, and we've tried everything but can't find out.”

Lin Chen quickly pressed him.

“Roughly how many positions have been taken?”

Zhou Heshan frowned deeply and replied.

“I heard there are a thousand positions.”

Lin Chen had originally thought there would be at most a few dozen positions, but he never expected the number to be so large, which was more or less inappropriate.

“I'll ask my grandfather to see what's going on. You all should also ask your elders at home to see how this matter will be handled later.”

Lin Chen quickly made a decision.

Everyone nodded in agreement and immediately began contacting their elders at home, eager to know what exactly was happening.

Their Feng City had always strictly adhered to the rules and had not used connections for their younger generations.

But if people from other cities openly broke the rules and grabbed resources, this was undoubtedly intolerable.

The establishment of Blood City received significant contributions from 12 surrounding cities, so the training camp, built around the blood origin throne, allocated 3,000 participation slots to each of these 12 cities.

The 12 cities contributed, and now it was time to see the returns. If other cities that did not contribute sent people to seize benefits, especially by breaking the rules, such behavior was intolerable, and it was even more so a violation of the rules to occupy benefits.

“Grandfather, I've arrived at the training camp. I just finished eating and gathered some information. They say a thousand spots in the inner ring have been reserved. Please investigate, Grandfather, if this is true.”

Lin Yuan's expression also turned grim upon hearing this.

“Chener, I haven't paid too much attention to the training camp matters. I'll ask your third uncle to investigate. You children must not act rashly.”

“Grandfather, I understand. We know what's important here.”

Lin Yuan hung up the call, and Lin Chen actually felt relieved.

There's no smoke without fire; since Zhou Heshan could get this information, it meant there was a nine-out-of-ten chance that something was wrong.

The elders of the other four families were also unclear about this matter and stated that they would investigate and later tell them the truth.

Everyone present was a third or fourth-generation descendant of their respective families, and if nothing unexpected happened, they would all manage a portion of the family's assets in the future, so they were trained according to the requirements for family heirs.

They could more or less mobilize a part of their family's strength. While their families would investigate, they would not remain idle either; this could be seen as a test.

Investigating the truth of this matter, if an individual could uncover something, they would grow more or less.

Therefore, everyone present began to take action.

Zhou Heshan and Zhou Heming contacted classmates they knew to inquire about how widely this matter had spread.

Oriental Red Sleeve and Dongfang Li contacted the manager of the Dongfang Auction House here in Blood City to see if there was any special information from the auction house.

Wang Ranran contacted her cousin who worked in the Blood City Lord's Mansion. Her cousin held a high position in the education system and could be connected to the training camp, perhaps having unexpected news.

Li Weijun did not look for connections in Blood City but instead contacted his uncle who worked in the Qingshan City Guard.

Qingshan City was one of the nearby cities that had not aided Blood City, and the atmosphere there was not very good; taking more than one's share was practically a label.

Lin Chen had the same idea as Li Weijun; he chose to contact his second uncle who was expanding the business territory in Ice City.

Ice City was also one of the cities that had not aided Blood City, and it was not far from Blood City. It had a seventh-tier family with strong family influence; the general atmosphere could only be described as normal, with a touch of nouveau riche flair.

After everyone contacted their respective people, they explained the current situation.

The interests involved in this matter were not small.

Most of the second-generation family leaders were only at the fourth or fifth tier of cultivation, and the blood origin throne could still affect them.

There were three thousand fourth-tier positions and three hundred fifth-tier positions.

These positions, led by Feng City and the other 12 cities, had not been tampered with and were all open to students.

If the reserved positions were for students, that would be one thing, but if they were not for students, this matter could cause a huge commotion, and it was even possible for lives to be lost.
