17: Sword Heart and Sword Bones

Looking at the unresponsive small silver sword in his hand, Qin Feng thought of the countless novel tropes he had read in his past life. He hesitated for a moment, but eventually used that rusted dagger to make a light cut on his fingertip, squeezing out a drop of bright red blood that dripped onto the blade of the small silver-white sword.

The moment the drop of blood touched the blade, a sudden change occurred!

The drop of blood did not slide off; instead, it was instantly absorbed as if by a sponge! Immediately following that, the small silver-white sword suddenly erupted with a soft yet brilliant silver radiance, illuminating the entire dim room!

Swish—!

The light flashed and vanished. Qin Feng felt the weight in his hand disappear as the small sword transformed into a streak of light, instantly sinking into the right side of his chest!

"Ugh!" A warm current flooded into his limbs and bones. It wasn't a violent surge of energy, but rather soft and warm like a hot spring, permeating every inch of his flesh and every bone. He clearly felt a tingling itch from the wound on his back as the pain rapidly diminished, and the stagnant blood and Qi within him due to his heavy injuries became smooth and lively once more.

An indescribable sense of comfort spread throughout his body, as if a thousand-pound burden had been lifted, or as if his entire body had been washed and tempered. He involuntarily sat down cross-legged, immersing himself in this wonderful transformation.

After an unknown amount of time, the warm current gradually subsided. Qin Feng slowly opened his eyes, feeling refreshed. His sight and hearing seemed much sharper, his body was filled with strength, and his injuries had mostly healed!

He hurriedly unbuttoned his robe and looked at his right chest. On the skin of his chest, there was now a life-like silver-white small sword emblem about the size of a thumb's fingernail. The lines were simple yet mysterious, as if it had naturally grown there.

He impatiently opened his character panel.

[Name: Qin Feng]

[Age: 16]

[Rank: Early Stage Martial Apprentice]

[Talent: Sword Heart (Elementary), Sword Bone (Elementary)]

[Status: Internal Injury (Rank 1) (Continuously recovering, expected to fully heal within two days)]

[Remarks: Possesses the raw jade of the Sword Dao; comprehension of sword techniques is greatly increased, and the physique is more suitable for carrying Sword Dao True Essence.]

"What?! My internal injuries are almost healed? And I've directly broken through to the Early Stage Martial Apprentice?!" Qin Feng was both surprised and delighted. What shocked him even more was the newly added [Talent] column!

Sword Heart! Sword Bone!

This small silver sword was actually a peerless treasure capable of changing one's talent and Foundation! A Golden Legend truly lives up to its reputation!

"This small white sword... what exactly is its origin?" Qin Feng stroked the emblem on his chest, his heart full of shock and curiosity. The effect of this thing was simply Heaven-Defying!

Early the next morning, Qin Feng woke up early feeling full of strength. He could barely feel any pain from the wound on his back, his internal breath circulated smoothly, and his state was better than ever before.

He habitually refreshed the System intelligence.

[(White) Huichun Medical Hall reopens today after being closed for several days. Many old patients have come upon hearing the news, forming a long queue outside the hall. Doctor Chu and Xiao Chun are extremely busy.]

[(White) While working at the Drunken Immortal Tower, Qin Yongnian (Second Uncle) broke several dishes in succession due to his distracted state of mind. He was publicly scolded by the manager and had his wages docked.]

[(White) The sealed dry well at the deepest part of Old Well Alley in the west of the city has a malevolent aura residing within it. Ordinary Martial Artists will easily feel uneasy when approaching; it is recommended to stay away.]

Seeing the first two items, Qin Feng frowned slightly. Huichun Medical Hall being busy was expected, but it seemed Second Uncle had made mistakes because he was worried about him; he would have to visit when he had time. As for the third item... malevolent entity? A dry well? Qin Feng's heart chilled. It seemed that besides Martial Artists, there were also some extraordinary and mysterious things in this world; it truly was not peaceful.

He stopped thinking about it and went to the small courtyard to practice that Basic Sword Art once again.

This time, the feeling was completely different!

Holding a wooden stick (he still didn't dare use the Azure Edge Sword), as soon as he assumed the stance, he felt his mind become clear and empty. He achieved a natural understanding of the power-exertion methods and footwork transitions described in the sword art. As he swung his arms, his blood and Qi flowed naturally, perfectly aligning with the sword moves. Straight thrust, horizontal slash, vertical chop—these three simplest basic sword moves actually brought about the faint sound of wind in his hands, revealing a sharp and precise intent.

After practicing only three or four times, he felt he had completely mastered this set of Basic Sword Art, reaching the Realm of "Perfection upon entry"! He could even vaguely perceive the subtle points that could be improved or connected.

"Is this... the benefit of Sword Heart and Sword Bone?" Qin Feng stopped his movements, feeling the blood and Qi rushing through his body and the faint connection established with the wooden stick in his hand. A surge of uncontrollable wild joy rose in his heart.

This didn't directly grant him immense power, but it opened a shortcut door to the Peak of the Sword Dao for him! Its value was far above a Profound Rank sword manual or a Sharp Weapon!

A Golden Legend is truly terrifying!

His path as a Martial Artist, because of this mysterious small silver sword, had truly established its most solid and precious Foundation.
