54: After a short rest, an unexpected exposure occurred.
Arriving at the bedside, Su Yun didn't explain as he looked at An Yuyao's confused eyes.
He carried An Yuyao onto the bed.
Then he pulled the bed curtains closed, concealing the bed.
"What we need to do now is recharge our energy."
Su Yun observed that An Yuyao probably hadn't slept much all day, so she was in low spirits.
Furthermore, she was currently just a Mortal woman with ordinary physical strength.
When they escaped the An Family in the middle of the night, a lack of stamina would be fatal.
"Yuyao, you should sleep first!"
"I'll listen to you, but you have to hold me while I sleep."
"Alright."
Seeing An Yuyao's coquettish expression, Su Yun could only step forward and gently embrace her as they lay on the bed together.
He originally wanted to watch the movements outside from the window to prevent being discovered.
However, with his keen perception, he could clearly hear the movements outside even from the bed.
Feeling the warmth of his embrace, An Yuyao gradually drifted off to sleep.
Feeling An Yuyao's fragrant and soft body, Su Yun also relaxed... Six hours later, it was already the middle of the night.
At this time, the entire An Family had become silent, with only the occasional sound of Guards' patrolling footsteps.
Su Yun also opened his eyes from his rest and saw that An Yuyao was sleeping soundly.
He pinched her small face with his hand and whispered in her ear:
"It's time to wake up, Yuyao!"
"Mmm~"
An Yuyao opened her eyes and stared blankly at the top of the bed as if she hadn't quite come to her senses yet.
"Yuyao!"
"Su Yun! I didn't oversleep, did I?"
"No."
"We should get ready to leave!"
An Yuyao finally snapped out of it, her face turning red as she reluctantly left Su Yun's embrace.
Then, she got out of bed and took off all her jewelry, placing them on the table.
"Yuyao, what are you doing?"
"These are all things they gave me after I came to the An Family."
"I'm leaving the An Family, so these things don't belong to me."
"That's why I'm leaving them here."
As An Yuyao spoke, she walked over to the dressing table.
She opened a drawer at the bottom of the dressing table and took out a cloth bundle.
Su Yun also rose from the bed, looking at the cloth bundle with curiosity.
Seeing Su Yun's curiosity, An Yuyao directly opened the cloth bundle.
Inside was a piece of clothing with relatively ordinary decorations.
There were no magnificent patterns, nor were there any jewels or jade inlaid in it.
"This is a dress I embroidered myself before."
"I'll put it on now, tell me if it looks good!"
After saying that, An Yuyao walked gracefully behind the screen and began to change her clothes.
Su Yun only heard the sound of rustling clothes, and before long, An Yuyao emerged from behind the screen.
If An Yuyao was a noble and beautiful Young Miss before, she was now a charming and lovely girl next door.
The pale yellow dress suited her exceptionally well, with several exquisite small flowers embroidered on it.
"It's very beautiful, and very cute!"
Hearing Su Yun's praise, An Yuyao lowered her head shyly.
Ever since she expressed her feelings to Su Yun, she had become easily embarrassed.
Especially when hearing praise from the person she liked.
"Alright, we're heading out."
"Yuyao, have you taken everything you need?"
"I've got everything; I'm only taking this dress I made myself."
Seeing that An Yuyao was fully prepared, Su Yun nodded.
Then he tiptoed to the door of the Bedchamber.
Under the cover of night, the figures of a dozen or so Maidservants could be vaguely seen in the courtyard outside the Bedchamber.
Although there were far fewer people than six hours ago, they were still guarding every exit of the courtyard.
If he were alone, it would be easy to leave, but to bring another person, he had to take action.
"Yuyao, I'll go out from the roof first and knock out those Maidservants."
"Wait until I call you before you come out."
"Okay, Su Yun, be careful. Safety is the most important thing."
Su Yun nodded, then with a light step, he jumped directly onto the wall and climbed under the roof.
An Yuyao's heart almost jumped out of her chest as she watched from below, fearing that Su Yun might accidentally fall.
Su Yun lifted a roof tile and, with a swift movement, leaped out through the gap in the roof.
Under the cover of night, Su Yun quickly determined their positions based on the Maidservants' breathing.
He directly crushed the tile into several pieces, then flipped off the roof and into the courtyard.
Using the night as cover, he aimed at his targets and sent the tile fragments flying.
Soon, several Maidservants were struck in the neck by the fragments and fainted on the spot.
Several Maidservants standing further away noticed the unusual situation and hurried forward to check.
This gave Su Yun just the opportunity he needed.
His hand flicked rapidly, and a few more fragments knocked down several more Maidservants.
Seeing that things were going wrong, the remaining two Maidservants wanted to shout for help.
As a result, Su Yun emerged from the shadows and directly knocked them both out.
After finishing this, he slowly breathed a sigh of relief.
As expected, this body with a Mortal setting was still too weak; his stamina had been significantly depleted after just a few moves.
Dealing with these Maidservants was easy, but dealing with a large group of Guards would be somewhat difficult.
Su Yun looked around, and after ensuring nothing was missed, he returned to the outside of the Bedchamber and called softly:
"Yuyao, you can come out now."
"Su Yun, you aren't hurt, are you?"
An Yuyao immediately opened the door and rushed out upon hearing Su Yun's voice.
She touched various parts of Su Yun's body with her hands, only breathing a sigh of relief after seeing that he was fine.
"I'm fine, I'm not hurt. Let's go quickly. If we delay too long, those Guards will come!"
"Okay."
Su Yun then led An Yuyao out of the courtyard and walked through a small alley within the An Family.
Neither of them spoke, quietly walking toward the main gate of the An Family.
Fortunately, in less than half an incense stick's time, the two arrived near the main gate.
In the grass, Su Yun signaled for An Yuyao to hide there first.
Then he leaned out and moved into another patch of grass.
"Why is the main gate so heavily guarded?"
Su Yun saw that there were now over twenty Guards at the An Family's main gate.
When he had sneaked in during the afternoon, there were only four or five Guards.
It seemed the plan to leave through the main gate could not be accomplished.
If he were alone, leaving would be easy, but now that he was with An Yuyao, this path was no longer viable.
"It seems we'll have to go check the back gate!"
Su Yun helplessly returned to the grass where An Yuyao was hiding.
He pulled An Yuyao and quietly left the main gate, arriving at a relatively remote Pavilion in the An Family.
"Su Yun, what's wrong?"
"I'm afraid we'll have to go to the back gate. There are too many people at the front, and many Guards are watching the walls surrounding the entire An Family."
"It doesn't matter, I'll follow you wherever you go!"
An Yuyao clenched her fists with a look of determination.
"No time to lose, let's set off now!"
"Okay!"
Just as Su Yun led An Yuyao out of the Pavilion, noisy sounds came from the distance.
"Someone come quickly! The Second Miss has been kidnapped by a Thief!"
A Guard shouted, and the entire An Family instantly became lively.
