77: Insect eggs and Ganoderma lucidum

After receiving instructions from the System, Mu Feng headed towards the secret room on the left.

He quickly arrived at a vast medicinal field through the secret room.

This medicinal field was enormous, more than ten times larger than his own, which greatly excited Mu Feng.

However, the next second, he was dumbfounded.

Although this medicinal field looked very large, it was completely bare, without a hint of green.

He didn't know if the Immortal Cave's owner had moved all the spiritual plants when he left, or if the Immortal Cave had been dilapidated for too long, leading to a lack of Spiritual Qi and the death of all the spiritual plants.

Mu Feng looked depressed; he had anticipated it for nothing.

"Damn, even the breathing earth was dug away."

A thief does not leave empty-handed. Since he didn't find any spiritual plants, Mu Feng wanted to dig up all the breathing earth in the medicinal field.

Such a large medicinal field—if all the breathing earth were dug up, it would be a huge income.

However, he didn't expect that the other party not only moved all the spiritual plants but also took the breathing earth with them.

They left nothing for him, which made Mu Feng even more depressed.

"Forget it, the next secret room will be better!"

After comforting himself, Mu Feng prepared to leave the medicinal garden.

Just then, a red prompt appeared before his eyes.

"Didn't you notice a Yin Spirit Mushroom hidden in the far corner?"

"Hmm?"

"There's a Yin Spirit Mushroom here?!"

Mu Feng was first stunned, then overcome with boundless ecstasy!

He remembered that the Yin Spirit Mushroom was an important Material for refining Soul Cleansing Pill.

He had been searching for it before but had no leads.

He didn't expect to encounter it here!

"Alright, alright, no wonder the System prompted him to enter this medicinal field first. So there was a deeper meaning. He almost missed it."

Following the direction given by the System, Mu Feng quickly moved towards that spot.

"Where is it? I don't see it."

Upon reaching the designated spot, Mu Feng scanned the corner with his eyes but found nothing.

Unwilling to give up, he used his Divine Sense to scan again, but still found nothing.

"You're truly foolish. A Yin Spirit Mushroom, naturally, hides in a place where it can't see light. Dig up that protruding mound in the corner."

The red prompt appeared again.

"Protruding mound?"

Mu Feng glanced around and indeed found a slightly protruding mound in the corner.

If it weren't for the System's prompt, most people wouldn't have noticed it.

He quickly dug up the protruding area.

Soon, a Ganoderma lucidum with black flowers on its head and an equally inky black appearance appeared before Mu Feng's eyes.

"Found it!"

Mu Feng happily pulled out the Yin Spirit Mushroom.

"Name: Yin Spirit Mushroom"

"Age: Five hundred years"

"Description: A type of Ganoderma lucidum that prefers to grow in cool, dark places. Its appearance is as black as ink, and the flowers on its head have the effect of concealing Divine Sense."

"Effect: Mostly used for refining Medicinal Pills related to the Divine Soul."

"So it has the effect of concealing Divine Sense. No wonder!"

After reading the Yin Spirit Mushroom's description, Mu Feng nodded.

He had wondered why he hadn't detected its presence even after scanning with his Divine Sense multiple times.

Now, everything made sense.

After using his Divine Sense to scan the surroundings again to confirm there were no other protrusions, Mu Feng happily left the medicinal garden with the Yin Spirit Mushroom.

Back in the main hall, Mu Feng was no longer conflicted this time.

He entered the secret rooms in order, from left to right.

Entering the second secret room, this room was much smaller compared to the medicinal field, roughly only one-third the size of the medicinal field.

It was empty, with only a few broken cabinets placed there.

Mu Feng looked at it several times but couldn't figure out what this secret room was used for.

"This is a secret room for storing Spiritual Insects and spiritual pets. Go check the cabinet on the right; perhaps you'll find something."

A red prompt appeared before Mu Feng's eyes.

"The cabinet on the right?"

Mu Feng nodded and walked over as instructed by the System.

After rummaging through the cabinets, he finally found three sealed pottery jars inside.

The bottom of one of the jars was already broken.

Mu Feng glanced at it and found nothing inside.

"System Reminder: Spiritual Insect Jar x1"

"System Reminder: Spiritual Insect Jar x1"

"Spiritual Insect Jar: A jar specifically used for storing Spiritual Insect eggs."

"For storing insect eggs? Spiritual Insect eggs!"

Mu Feng's heart stirred.

He remembered that once his Immortal Cave was upgraded to an Intermediate Immortal Cave, a dedicated secret room for Spiritual Insects and spiritual pets would be opened.

At that time, he would likely need to cultivate these Spiritual Insects and spiritual pets.

After all, this was a great asset!

If he could cultivate these Spiritual Insects, he would no longer fear group battles.

Imagine releasing a large swarm of Spiritual Insects to assist in a group battle; the enemies would surely be shocked!

However, the idea was beautiful, but the reality was harsh.

When Mu Feng opened the Spiritual Insect Jar, he found that the insect eggs inside had lost their vital signs due to being stored for too long.

"System Reminder: Dead egg x8"

"Dead egg: The egg of a certain Spiritual Insect, but the larva inside has lost its vital signs."

"Dead?"

Mu Feng was a bit depressed.

Unwilling to give up, he opened another Spiritual Insect Jar and found it was the same as the first jar—all dead eggs.

"System Reminder: Dead egg x10"

"Alright, I anticipated it for nothing."

He put all the dead eggs back into the Spiritual Insect Jar.

Mu Feng, his interest waning, placed the jars into his Storage Pouch.

Since he had come all this way, even if it was useless trash, he would take it.

What if this thing was useful later?

Mu Feng knew how to comfort himself. With that thought, he felt much better.

Before leaving, Mu Feng habitually scanned the secret room with his Divine Sense a few times.

Suddenly, he discovered several cocooned insect eggs hanging behind the cabinet, faintly emitting signs of life, though very weak.

"What is this?"

"Live insect eggs!"

Mu Feng was overjoyed!

The aura of these insect eggs was faint and almost imperceptible. If he hadn't carefully examined them with his Divine Sense, he would never have discovered the existence of these insect eggs behind the cabinet.

He flipped the cabinet over.

Mu Feng scooped them up with his hand, and all the insect eggs were in his grasp.

"System Reminder: Spiritual Insect egg x5"

"Spiritual Insect egg: The egg of a certain Spiritual Insect, requiring a rich Spiritual Qi environment to hatch."

"They're alive, indeed!"

Mu Feng was overjoyed.

Although he didn't know what kind of Spiritual Insect these eggs belonged to, their ability to survive in such a place for so long showed their tenacious vitality.

As for why there were live insect eggs behind the cabinet, Mu Feng guessed they had escaped from the Spiritual Insect Jar with the broken bottom.

They hadn't died after all this time, so it seemed their fate was not to perish.

Mu Feng gathered the dead eggs from the previous two Spiritual Insect Jars together.

Then, he placed these live insect eggs into the empty Spiritual Insect Jar, planning to hatch them slowly back at his Immortal Cave.

After checking several times with his Divine Sense and confirming nothing was left behind, Mu Feng left the Insect Room.

He walked into the last secret room.
