179: Chapter 179 Interstellar Front

Along the way, all the Students who saw them would stop in their tracks immediately.

Then, with eyes filled with reverence and adoration, they would gaze respectfully at Wang Pingan.

The scene felt just like an ancient emperor going on an inspection tour.

Wang Pingan felt completely uncomfortable being watched like that.

He now deeply missed his original identity as a "little transparent" person, when he could wander around campus as he pleased.

Soon, the two arrived in front of the Principal's office, which was filled with an aura of majesty and solemnity.

Instructor Shi Yan pushed the door open and led Wang Pingan inside.

Inside the office, apart from the elusive Principal of Xuanyuan University, there were also over a dozen big shots whose auras were as vast as the abyss, clearly the highest-ranking members of the academy.

Seeing Wang Pingan enter, those dozen pairs of sharp gazes, capable of making any Eighth-Rank Venerable tremble with fear, landed squarely on him.

It was as if they wanted to see right through him, from the inside out.

Wang Pingan's heart skipped a beat.

But the expression on his face remained unnervingly calm.

He knew these big shots must have come for the matter regarding the "Universe Law Fragments."

"Student Wang Pingan, sit."

Sitting in the main seat was the Principal of Xuanyuan University; with white hair and beard, a kind face, and looking just like a grandfather next door, he smiled gently at Wang Pingan.

His voice was full of affinity, making people feel as if they were bathed in a spring breeze.

Yet, from those eyes—which looked cloudy but were actually deeper than the stars—Wang Pingan felt a terrifying pressure that made even him feel a palpitation of the heart!

This seemingly harmless Old Principal was definitely an old monster with unfathomable strength!

"Hello, Principal. Hello, Instructors."

Wang Pingan did not dare to be the least bit arrogant and respectfully bowed to everyone present.

Only then did he sit down on a chair to the side.

"Student Wang Pingan, in this invitational tournament, you have rendered an immortal service for our Xuanyuan University."

The Old Principal's voice was filled with gratification and praise.

"Your name now resounds throughout the entire Human Federation."

"You are the most dazzling new star our Xuanyuan University has seen in two thousand five hundred years!"

"Therefore, following a unanimous resolution by our academy's highest committee, we have decided to give you an additional special reward."

As the Old Principal spoke, he took something out of his storage ring.

It was a card made of an unknown golden metal, as thin as a cicada's wing, and filled with a sense of technology...?

"There are five million credits in this card."

The Old Principal handed the golden card to Wang Pingan.

"Consider it a small token of our academy's appreciation for you, our 'great contributor'."

Five million credits?!

Wang Pingan's eyes lit up instantly.

Although he wasn't lacking in pay-to-win points right now, these credits were good stuff!

With these five million credits, he could go to the Exchange Center and buy more good things!

"Thank you, Principal! Thank you, Instructors!"

A heartfelt, incredibly bright smile appeared on Wang Pingan's face.

He accepted the golden card without any hesitation.

After coming out of the Principal's office, Wang Pingan let out a long sigh of relief.

He felt as if he had just taken a trip through the gates of hell.

While complaining in his heart, he walked quickly in the direction of his Heaven Character Number One Villa.

Just as he was about to leave the teaching area, Instructor Shi Yan's tall figure appeared silently behind him once again.

"Wang Pingan."

Instructor Shi Yan's voice returned to its usual coldness and seriousness.

"Instructor? Do you have something else?" Wang Pingan's heart "skipped a beat," and he quickly stopped in his tracks.

"Follow me."

Instructor Shi Yan didn't say anything more, just led him to a nearby, empty virtual training room.

He waved his hand.

A three-dimensional star map, filled with an aura of iron, blood, and slaughter, appeared before the two.

On the star map, countless points of light were flickering.

One area was marked in blood red.

"This is the frontline where our Human Federation battles with alien races."

Instructor Shi Yan's voice was cold and devoid of any emotion.

"Although our human civilization has entered the interstellar era with vast territories, in the even broader, dark depths of the universe, there also exist countless powerful alien civilizations that harbor hostility toward us."

"War has never stopped."

"It's just that those cruel battles mostly take place in the distant interstellar frontiers, unseen by ordinary people."

"Countless martial artists like your parents are using their own flesh and blood to build an indestructible Great Wall of steel for the peace and tranquility of the rear."

Instructor Shi Yan's gaze landed on Wang Pingan.

"And now, you are also about to become one of them."

"According to the joint regulations of the Federal Military and major martial arts academies, all martial artists who have reached the Fifth-Rank or above must fulfill their 'military service obligations'."

"Starting next year, you must spend at least one month every year going to the interstellar frontline to engage in actual combat with those alien races!"

"What you will face will no longer be these flowers in a greenhouse at school, but real, cunning, cruel alien races that possess all kinds of bizarre abilities!"

Instructor Shi Yan waved his hand.

On the star map, two images of alien races, filled with hideous and evil auras, appeared.

One resembled a human, but its entire body was covered in fine, black scales that shimmered with a chilling light, and it had a flexible, whip-like snake tail—it was the Serpent People Clan!

The other had a vertical, evil eye on its forehead that shimmered with a strange red light—it was the Three-Eyed Clan!

"The Serpent People Clan has flexible bodies, extreme speed, and are skilled in melee combat, deadly poisons, and genetic modification technology."

"The Three-Eyed Clan has powerful spirit, is skilled in energy manipulation and long-range strikes, and their fleet is the most troublesome opponent for our Federal Navy."

"These two races are currently the two main enemies of our Human Federation."

"On the frontline battlefield, their Sixth-Rank, Seventh-Rank, and even Eighth-Rank powerhouses are everywhere."

"The mortality rate there exceeds ten percent."

"A mortality rate exceeding ten percent?"

Wang Pingan looked at the two images of alien races on the star map and listened to Instructor Shi Yan's cold and cruel words, devoid of any emotion.

He knew that Instructor Shi Yan was absolutely not fear-mongering.

He was also not a naive, inexperienced greenhorn.

He was very clear that although he was currently the undisputed "Great Demon King" among his peers, looking at the entire universe and that vast, boundless interstellar battlefield filled with unknowns and dangers, his bit of strength was probably not worth a damn.

"Damn, it seems I still can't get cocky." Wang Pingan silently warned himself in his heart.

"It seems my strength is still far from enough."

He took a deep breath, and in his pitch-black eyes, a trace of the purest desire for power was reignited!

"Instructor, I understand." He nodded solemnly at Instructor Shi Yan.

"I will not let you down."

"Hmm." Instructor Shi Yan watched his eyes instantly become firm, and a faint, imperceptible smile of satisfaction appeared on his face.

This was the effect he wanted; he wanted to use this most direct way to knock down a peg or two this little monster who had become so strong that he was somewhat "lawless," to let him understand that there is always someone better out there, and to make him put away the laziness and slackness that came from being "invincible."

"Very good." Instructor Shi Yan nodded.

The lesson was over, and his goal had been achieved.
