207: Pan Yuyao returned to her hometown
Within Zhang Yu's line of sight,
he could clearly see someone beside the wall of his villa.
There was a person wearing a hat and a mask, holding a shovel and other tools, digging something.
"Seriously, what is this person doing? What are they digging?"
Zhang Yu muttered to himself.
But looking at the person's tools, he figured they were probably just digging up dirt and couldn't be doing anything major.
So,
he didn't bother with it and returned to his bed.
He sprawled out on the bed.
It felt so comfortable.
Zhang Yu thought to himself.
He had been busy for a while, and it was hard-won to finally have some relaxing time.
It was the perfect chance to get some good rest.
So, he decided to take a shower and get to bed early.
He grabbed a towel and went into the shower. Halfway through, he heard something outside his room door.
A knock sounded.
The sound was very faint, and the showerhead was loud, so even with his excellent hearing,
it took a while for him to hear it after it had been knocking for a bit.
"Who is it?"
Zhang Yu shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Brother Yu, it's me." Pan Yuyao's voice came from outside the door.
"Is something the matter?"
It was so late; why was she looking for him?
"Brother Yu, could you open the door? I… I want to tell you in person." Pan Yuyao's tone was a bit timid.
"I'm taking a shower," Zhang Yu said.
"Ah? I'm sorry, I'll wait until later…"
"It's fine, just come in first."
Zhang Yu turned off the water, grabbed a towel, wiped himself off briefly, and wrapped it around his waist.
Then, he opened the door.
At the doorway, Pan Yuyao stood with her hands hanging by her lower abdomen.
She was looking down, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Come in and talk."
Zhang Yu gestured for her to enter and then closed the door.
"Brother Yu."
Pan Yuyao looked up at Zhang Yu with some embarrassment.
His robust chest and abdominal muscles made her face heat up and her heart race.
"Go ahead, what do you need me for?"
Zhang Yu sat down on the sofa.
"Brother Yu, something happened at home, and I need to return to my hometown tomorrow morning. I need to leave now, but there are no high-speed rail tickets left. Could you… could you take me?"
Pan Yuyao said, gathering her courage.
"Return to your hometown?"
Zhang Yu frowned; it seemed he didn't even know where her hometown was.
"Brother Yu, I'm from Jing City. It's a little over two hours from Jiangcheng…" Pan Yuyao snuck a glance at Zhang Yu. "If it's inconvenient, I'll find another way."
"It's fine. Who said it was inconvenient?"
Zhang Yu smiled. "However, you'll have to wait for me to get dressed."
Hearing this, Pan Yuyao's face turned even redder, as if something indescribable had just happened.
"You go wait outside first while I put on some clothes."
Pan Yuyao nodded, walked outside the room door, and waited anxiously for a while.
Then, she saw Zhang Yu walk out of the room, fully dressed.
"Let's go."
Zhang Yu said as he started heading downstairs.
"By the way, have you told Lu Hanxiao and the others?"
"I asked Sister Xiao for leave, but I didn't say I was going back to my hometown," Pan Yuyao said quickly.
"Alright then." Since she hadn't said anything, Zhang Yu didn't want to ask further.
Then he walked to the car on the ground floor.
"Get in."
Zhang Yu said.
Pan Yuyao looked at the car in front of her and suddenly remembered the time he had taken her for a drive by the river alone.
That restless hand…
As the memory flooded her mind, she appeared even more nervous and shy.
