62: Wuhan University system, points.
The two continued walking further into the campus.
After entering the main gate, a student-like person approached.
After confirming Li Ziyu's identity, he handed Li Ziyu a silver bracelet.
Li Ziyu took it, and Ma Chao, standing beside him, explained in a timely manner:
"Student Li Ziyu, this bracelet is like your student ID; it represents your identity at Modu Martial Arts University."
"It contains your points and your personal information at the university."
"Our university operates on a point system."
"At Modu Martial Arts University, all expenses, whether for meals or using the university's training rooms, require points."
As Ma Chao spoke, he gestured for Li Ziyu to put the bracelet on his hand.
Li Ziyu nodded and fastened the bracelet onto his wrist.
The bracelet was entirely silver-white, made of an unknown material, and its surface shimmered with flowing light, making it quite beautiful.
When he put it on, Li Ziyu felt a slight prick in his wrist, like a needle jab.
Ma Chao said with a smile:
"This bracelet was made using Great Xia's latest genetic technology. After you put it on, it will collect your blood."
"It's like an identity binding; from now on, this bracelet is exclusively yours!"
Li Ziyu nodded, and then Ma Chao smiled again and said:
"It shows the points you have in Great Xia. You can check how many points you have."
"Points can be exchanged for great xia currency at a rate of one to ten thousand."
"You can check how many points you have."
As he spoke, a hint of curiosity appeared on Ma Chao's face.
When he first enrolled, he only had fifty points in his bracelet.
He was very curious about how many points Li Ziyu, the National Martial Arts Exam Top Scorer, had compared to when he enrolled.
It should be more than what I had when I enrolled, at least a hundred points, Ma Chao thought.
Upon hearing this, Li Ziyu nodded and tapped his right wristband a few times, and a number appeared.
500.
"Holy crap!"
"500 points, how do you have so many points?"
Ma Chao's eyes widened.
Li Ziyu had no reaction. If one point could be exchanged for ten thousand great xia currency, then five hundred points would be equivalent to five million.
It should be the five million great xia currency that Dean Zuo promised to reward him, directly converted into points.
He just didn't know why Ma Chao reacted that way.
"Of course it's a lot!"
"I didn't mention something just now: although points can be exchanged for great xia currency at a rate of one to ten thousand,"
"if you want to exchange great xia currency for points, the exchange rate is one hundred thousand to one!"
"In other words, you can exchange one point for ten thousand great xia currency, but if you want to use great xia currency to exchange for one point, it will cost you one hundred thousand great xia currency!"
"So, isn't it a lot? Five hundred points would be equivalent to fifty million if bought with great xia currency!"
Ma Chao's expression was exaggerated, and he clicked his tongue twice, looking envious.
Seeing Li Ziyu's confusion, Ma Chao explained again:
"The main thing is that at Modu Martial Arts University, you can only spend with points, but points can only be obtained by completing various tasks, breaking rankings, or achieving high places in various competitions!"
"But breaking rankings or achieving high places in various competitions is especially difficult."
"And doing tasks carries a certain level of risk."
"Many people from well-off families who are unwilling to take risks by doing tasks will exchange great xia currency for points to maintain their studies at Modu Martial Arts University."
Listening, Li Ziyu asked curiously:
"Does the university not issue points regularly?"
"It does, but that's only enough to maintain basic survival and cultivation."
"Tsk, anyway, I really envy you for having so many points!"
Ma Chao said enviously.
Li Ziyu nodded.
It seemed he had gotten a good deal.
Li Ziyu could understand why Modu Martial Arts University implemented such a differential exchange rate.
Survival of the fittest, it both encourages students to improve and sharpens their practical combat skills through tasks.
It also generates revenue for the university.
Li Ziyu continued to follow Ma Chao.
It had to be said that Modu Martial Arts University was truly massive.
Not only was the main gate huge, but the area it occupied inside was also ridiculously large.
So large that he barely saw any students.
Li Ziyu followed Ma Chao from the obelisk at the main entrance for almost twenty minutes, yet they still hadn't reached the second building.
Of course, this was also because they walked slowly and didn't use Body Movement.
After walking for a while longer, Ma Chao stopped, walked over to a sign, and said to Li Ziyu with a smile:
"We're here!"
"The bus stop!"
...
Li Ziyu was speechless. No wonder there were no buildings around, only beautiful scenery with birds and flowers.
So they had walked for twenty minutes from the main entrance just to reach the bus stop?
Did they really need to take a bus for commuting within the university?
Just how big was Modu Superpower University anyway?!
Even Li Ziyu, who prided himself on being well-informed and composed, was too shocked to speak.
After a long pause, only two words came out of his mouth:
"Awesome!"
"Our Modu Martial Arts University covers an area of over fifty square kilometers, which is roughly equivalent to the size of an entire county outside."
"But the total number of people at our Modu Martial Arts University is just under ten thousand!"
"And that's even counting the number of external staff responsible for daily operations!"
"If you remove them, the true number of people at our Modu Martial Arts University is less than four thousand!"
On the self-driving, streamlined bus with panoramic glass on all sides, seven or eight students were sparsely seated.
In the aviation seats at the back of the bus, Ma Chao, while enjoying the seat massage, proudly introduced things to Li Ziyu.
Li Ziyu occasionally nodded, expressing his surprise.
It was too big.
An area of fifty square kilometers, with only about five thousand students and teachers combined.
On average, the occupied area per person reached an astonishing ten kilometers!?
And this was in Modu, the economic center of Great Xia, where real estate was incredibly expensive!
Tsk.
One could only say it truly lived up to its reputation as one of the top five Martial Arts Universities in the country.
It was just that extravagant!
Compared to the sheer size of Modu Martial Arts University, the self-driving bus he was currently riding in seemed less astonishing to Li Ziyu.
The unmanned bus continued to drive around inside the university.
Along the way, students got on and off.
Most of these students carried weapons and each exuded an extraordinary aura.
Li Ziyu observed from the expressions of the several groups of students who got on and off that those with smiles and anticipation on their faces were mostly new freshmen who had just arrived for registration.
Those with cold or calm expressions and carrying weapons were mostly older students from Modu University.
The bus stopped and started.
Every time they passed a building, Ma Chao diligently explained to Li Ziyu:
"That rounded building is our Modu Martial Arts University's Battle Skill Library. Generally, you go there to purchase and receive Battle Skills."
"Oh, right, Student Li Ziyu, Dean Zuo must have promised you Battle Skills before enrollment, didn't he?"
"You can collect them at the Battle Skill Library. Once I finish showing you around, you can go there yourself. You just need to swipe your bracelet."
Li Ziyu nodded, secretly making a mental note.
After settling in, going to the Battle Skill Library to exchange for Battle Skills was the first thing he planned to do.
"The hexagonal building next to the Battle Skill Library is our Modu Martial Arts University's Material Department."
"You can trade equipment and cultivation resources there. Most resources available on the market can be found in the Material Department, and the Material Department also accepts custom equipment orders from students."
"Also, the domed building next to the Material Department is the mission hall, where you can accept and issue missions."
"However, missions all have requirements for the strength of the person accepting them."
Ma Chao pointed to two more buildings and said.
Li Ziyu nodded, indicating he understood.
The bus continued for a while, and then several more students got on.
These students were dressed and carried themselves in a rather extraordinary manner.
After getting on, they haughtily scanned the bus, then found the most advantageous seats and sat down.
Li Ziyu also noticed that on the left sleeve cuff of each of their shirts, there was an embroidered design of two crossed swords with a shield below them.
After these few people got on, Ma Chao's expression became somewhat unpleasant and stiff.
However, Li Ziyu didn't notice.
His attention was completely drawn to a black tall tower that appeared in his line of sight ahead.
