169: Chapter 98, An Unexpected Clue
Frost Nova.
Liu Qing led Gong Tian as they struggled to search for clues.
They had even resorted to using soul-searching and empathy abilities.
All just to find that potentially existing clue!
However, after searching so many places, they still couldn't find any long-haired water monkeys that had seen that beam of white light.
The two of them walked across the land of Frost Nova like beggars.
Besides Frost Nova, there were no other habitable planets in the vicinity.
The Young Master had come out for a trip, bringing his friends here to explore the exotic.
At this moment, Liu Qing bitterly hated that Young Master he had never met. Why did you have to come here?
"What terrifying existence killed you all?"
"Leaving you without even the time to react, unable to even send out a distress signal!"
They had already traveled across more than half the planet, yet still hadn't found any creature that had witnessed the destruction of the Young Master's ship.
But they had to keep searching; this was the only habitable planet around.
And they were the only ones who could have possibly seen it.
"Liu Qing, I'm so tired. Can we rest for a bit and continue later?"
Gong Tian panted as he slumped to the ground, looking at Liu Qing, shouting as if he wished he were dead.
Liu Qing was the same, incredibly haggard, looking like a savage.
His entire being radiated exhaustion.
The two sat on the ground carelessly, tacitly leaning back-to-back to provide each other with some support.
"At this rate, when will it ever end?"
"Searching aimlessly, we're like headless flies. It's too exhausting, I feel like I'm going to die!"
Gong Tian murmured in a low voice, and soon began to snore.
Liu Qing's mouth twitched, but he didn't even have the strength to smile.
It was mostly mental exhaustion; seeing no hope, he had originally thought narrowing the scope would make it easy to search.
Who knew that the people of Frost Nova were all shut-ins who stayed under the ice layer and never came out for a breath of air.
Let alone looking up at the starry sky.
They had searched for many long-haired water monkeys, but none had seen the Young Master's spaceship.
Both felt incredibly desperate, not knowing where to go next.
In the vast Frost Nova, were they really going to search every creature on the planet?
Thinking of that number made their scalps tingle, and a deep sense of despair welled up from the bottom of their hearts.
This was an impossible task.
But if they went back, they would face the pursuit of Wolf Head, and with their small stature, they really couldn't escape.
Their wives and children were still over there; how could they escape?
Even if they wanted to escape, where could they go?
The bone-chilling cold and the endless ice fields made Liu Qing afraid to sit there for too long, or they would turn into ice sculptures.
They weren't natives of this place who could endure the harsh cold.
"Wake up, Gong Tian, wake up, don't sleep!"
Liu Qing pushed Gong Tian hard, but Gong Tian wouldn't wake up, still snoring away.
He touched Gong Tian's forehead, and it was burning hot.
"You... damn it, you actually have a fever!"
Liu Qing angrily slapped him; at a time like this, when they were already tired, having to deal with an extra burden was annoying.
Gong Tian was slapped awake, opening his eyes groggily.
"Why did you hit me?"
As soon as he spoke, Gong Tian was startled by his own voice.
His throat was hoarse, as if something was blocking it.
"Get up, don't sleep anymore, hurry up and circulate your Qi to recover your body, don't f*cking die here!"
Gong Tian didn't dare to delay; if he were any slower, something big would definitely go wrong. With such a strong body, how could he catch a cold?
The two supported each other and stumbled to the back of Frost Nova, where a small town appeared before their eyes.
This was one of the few buildings they had seen that was exposed above ground.
The two looked at each other and immediately bolted toward it.
Entering the town, they discovered that although there were no hot meals, there was normal food, unlike before, where they had only been eating frozen food.
It made them feel chilled to the bone.
They each ordered four servings of ice fish jelly and devoured them.
Every serving was emitting cold air.
But it was much better than the Ore-like food from before; at least it wasn't that frozen.
While blowing out cold air, they stuffed it into their mouths vigorously.
The small shop was full of long-haired monkeys—well, they couldn't really be called long-haired; the monkeys here had short hair.
It seemed they were a different breed from the ones on the other side.
Fortunately, the two of them could still understand the language they were speaking.
"Mo, is that thing you picked up earlier still usable?"
"Heh, don't even think about it. That thing fell from the sky; it was a gift from the heavens to me. It fell at my feet, and I won't sell it!"
Mo looked at Sen opposite him cautiously.
"Fine, fine, if you won't sell it, you won't sell it. But can you at least take it out and let us see it?"
"Yeah, take it out and let everyone see what makes you treasure it so much!"
The monkeys nearby jeered.
This put Mo in a difficult position; he was naturally an honest monkey.
Liu Qing and his companion kept their heads down, eating the ice fish jelly, ignoring their banter.
But when Mo took out his treasure, Gong Tian suddenly widened his eyes, his face full of shock.
He rubbed his eyes, afraid he had seen wrong.
He looked again at the small box in Mo's hand.
It made him freeze in place, his lips trembling, staring fixedly at that small box.
Liu Qing finished two servings of ice fish and looked up to see the shocked Gong Tian, asking curiously.
"What are you looking at? Not eating?"
"Liu Qing, Liu Qing, look behind you. Isn't that the Young Master's most beloved treasure chest?"
Gong Tian said in a trembling, low voice; he didn't dare to speak loudly for fear of startling the other party.
The clue that had appeared with such difficulty would run away.
Liu Qing followed his gaze, and then his eyes widened too.
He turned back and exchanged a look with Gong Tian, both seeing the joy in each other's eyes.
"Don't rush, don't rush. Wait until we get out, to a secluded place before we talk!"
Liu Qing pressed Gong Tian's hand and said softly.
The two ate their food normally, but their peripheral vision constantly glanced at that Mo and the treasure chest.
Mo opened the treasure chest, and everyone looked into the chest together.
"Wow! Spirit Stones, it's actually Spirit Stones!"
"Mo, you're rich! So many Spirit Stones, enough for you to eat for a lifetime; you could even marry ten wives!"
"You have enough money to buy a house too. Mo, don't forget us old friends!"
"Looking from the outside, the box is so small, but I didn't expect the space inside to be so big!"
"Yeah, it's packed with so many things. What is this book?"
"And what are these little bottles holding? They wouldn't be poison, would they?"
Someone reached out to grab those items, but Mo slapped their hand away.
"These are all mine, don't get any ideas!"
"Oh, Mo, we won't take yours, we just want to look. We won't keep it. Can you lend me that book for a few days? Just for a few days!"
He looked at Mo with a longing expression.
But Mo shook his head resolutely.
"You borrowed my things before and didn't return them; you still haven't returned them to this day. I don't trust you!"
Mo looked at him with a distrustful gaze, which annoyed him greatly.
"Then... this time I will definitely return it. I'll leave my Spirit Stones with you as collateral, how about that?"
"No, this is mine, I don't trust you!"
Mo kept repeating this, forcing that monkey to the point where he was about to roar at the sky.
"I'm going home, I'm not playing with you all anymore! You are all bad people!"
Mo slammed the treasure chest shut, then hugged the box, stood up, and walked outside.
