Chapter 69 Shaving the Balloon
Sun Erga grinned, revealing a row of big white teeth.
He had long found these two foreign devils an eyesore.
Turning around, he pulled a red latex balloon from under the counter, puffed out his cheeks, and blew twice with a "whoosh-whoosh" until it was round and full, then tied the opening tight.
Immediately after, he took out a brush and stirred it in some soapy water.
On the thin surface of that balloon, he applied a thick layer of white foam.
The surrounding crowd fell silent instantly, everyone craning their necks.
What was this for?
A magic trick?
Lin Xi lifted the foam-covered balloon with his left hand, as if holding a fragile bomb.
His right hand gripped that matte black "red star whirlwind."
"The hardest thing to shave in this world isn't steel wire."
Lin Xi's voice wasn't loud, yet it carried clearly throughout the venue.
"It's this thing."
"As you all know, the thickness of a latex balloon is less than 0.03 millimeters."
"If there's even a tiny burr on the foil, or if the motor vibrates just a little too much..."
He made an "explosion" gesture.
"Bang."
Hans gave a cold laugh, crossing his arms.
"Grandstanding."
"Shaving a balloon with a razor? Even the highest-precision prototype in Braun's laboratory wouldn't dare play like this."
"Young man, blow a boast too big and it's bound to pop."
"If your motor really has twelve thousand RPM."
"The centrifugal force generated would instantly deform the foil, and the balloon would undoubtedly explode!"
Vandersa also shook his head: "This is just Chinese cleverness, a circus trick."
Lin Xi didn't even lift an eyelid.
He gave a gentle push with his thumb.
Click.
The switch turned on.
The expected "buzzing" vibration and roar did not occur.
No vibration.
No noise.
Only an extremely high-frequency sound wave filled the air.
"Ying—"
It was like the whistle of a jet engine starting up, yet suppressed within an extremely low volume range.
It wasn't harsh to the ears, yet it made one's scalp tingle.
It was a low murmur from a deep-sea ghost.
It was the breath of the Grim Reaper.
The disdainful sneer on Hans's face froze the moment this sound rang out, as if someone had pressed the pause button.
When an expert makes a move, one immediately knows if they have the skills.
As an expert in the field of mechanics, he understood all too well what this sound meant.
This was extreme rotational speed!
This was dynamic balance where even the slightest bit of excess vibration had been perfectly eliminated!
Before he could react, Lin Xi's hand had already moved.
The black shaver head pressed against the red balloon without any hesitation.
Zi—
An extremely faint cutting sound rang out—the friction between metal and foam, which was immensely satisfying to hear.
Everyone subconsciously narrowed their eyes, waiting for the sharp pop of the balloon exploding.
One second.
Two seconds.
No explosion.
That black razor was like a dancer gliding on ice, silky smooth.
Wherever it passed, the white foam instantly vanished, revealing the smooth, reddish latex surface beneath.
One lap, two laps.
Lin Xi's technique was startlingly fast, even carrying a hint of nonchalance.
In less than ten seconds.
The foam on the entire top of the balloon was shaved clean, without even a speck of foam left.
Yet that fragile red balloon still trembled gently in the breeze, completely intact!
Silence.
A deathly silence.
The merchants who had been mocking and ridiculing just moments ago now had their mouths hanging open wide enough to fit an egg.
Lin Xi turned off the switch.
That ghost-like whistling sound stopped abruptly.
He casually tossed the balloon into the air, letting it drift down between Hans and Vandersa.
"This is the 0.04mm Electroformed Foil."
Lin Xi looked at the two stunned men and said calmly:
"It's thinner than the balloon's skin, yet it can take in every speck of dust on the balloon without harming the host in the slightest."
"Mr. Hans, Mr. Vandersa."
Lin Xi pointed at their briefcases, the corners of his mouth curling into an elegant yet cruel arc.
"Now, please take out your proud Germany craftsmanship and Netherlands new products."
"And do two laps on this balloon as well?"
Hans's Adam's apple bobbed with difficulty, and he subconsciously covered the Braun razor in his pocket.
Did he dare?
He wouldn't dare even if given ten times the courage!
His own 0.08mm stamped steel mesh was full of serrations under a microscope.
Forget shaving a balloon; even when shaving a face, a little bit of force would draw blood!
Vandersa's face was even paler; although his Philips focused on comfort.
But the torque of the 2,800 RPM motor was too high, vibrating like a tractor; the moment it touched the balloon would absolutely be a disaster.
"Don't dare?"
Lin Xi chuckled, a bone-chilling coldness in his eyes.
"If you don't dare, then shut up."
"Don't bring your industrial trash to compare with our artwork."
In the livestream room, the bullet chat was already flooding the screen.
[Holy crap! Holy crap! My lack of education prevents me from saying anything more than 'holy crap' to conquer the world!]
[Is this the legendary "dancing on the edge of a blade"? I'm kneeling!]
[Hans: Who am I? Where am I? Why am I watching this next to a missile?]
[Vandersa: That... can I not eat the razor? Is it okay if I eat a balloon instead?]
[The Streamer's move directly materialized industrial precision! This is a dimensional strike!]
"Is it over already?"
Lin Xi suddenly turned his head to look at the still-dazed Sun Erga, his brow furrowing slightly.
"Erga, what are you standing there for? Bring that thing up."
"Ah? Oh! Coming!"
Sun Erga snapped out of it and ran back behind the display stand.
Amidst bewildered gazes, he actually came out carrying a pot of...
Cactus!
It was a top-quality Golden Barrel Cactus, thriving and covered in golden thorns!
Those dense, steel-needle-like hard thorns looked painful just to see.
The whole audience was dumbfounded.
What was he going to do now?
"Since I've demonstrated softness."
Lin Xi took the razor that had just "caressed" the balloon, his eyes suddenly turning sharp.
"Then I must show everyone what strength is."
Without changing the shaver head or the motor.
To be able to move as if on level ground on the world's most fragile surface, yet crush the hardest obstacles.
That is a true—industrial luxury.
Lin Xi didn't waste any words.
He started the motor again.
"Ying—!!"
Amidst that scalp-tingling high-frequency whistle, he pressed the shaver head firmly onto the Cactus!
No buffering!
Just head-on!
