99: Chapter 99 People from the Yan Family Arrive

The corpses of Ruan Xingqiao's Family of three were simply discarded in the mountains and forests outside the city.

In a few hours, wild beasts would smell the blood and arrive.

If Yin He had died out here, there might have been a chance of discovering some clues.

After all, he was an Instructor of the martial arts academy.

The place where he died was not too far from Meifengshan Martial Arts Academy.

However, Ruan Xingqiao's Family were people from Qianqiu Mountain.

Qianqiu Mountain was thousands of miles away from here.

Even if someone found some rotten clothes or scraps of fabric, no one would guess it was their Family.

Moreover, Ruan Xingqiao's Family had come here in secret this time.

Ruan Xingqiao and her Family had actually thought things through quite clearly.

Although Yan Chenzhou of the Yan Family had lost all face because of Li Yuan, and the entire Yan Family was even affected,

the Yan Family's first choice was not to kill Li Yuan.

People with a New Wood Physique were not easy to find.

Yan Chenzhou was now in his thirties, and they had been looking for a Medicine Tester for him since he was in his teens.

In over ten years, there hadn't been a single lead.

Having finally encountered Li Yuan, how could they be willing to just kill him?

Since the Yan Family's reputation was destined to be affected and damaged,

then they absolutely could not easily let go of this opportunity for Li Yuan to be a Medicine Tester.

If something happened to Li Yuan and he died, brainless people would think the Yan Family did it.

But many major powers, including the Yan family members, would know that someone else was behind it.

Ruan Xingqiao's Family didn't want to provoke a behemoth like the Yan Family over this matter.

Their status in Qianqiu Mountain was already unstable; how could they dare to provoke the Yan Family?

After the minor matter of the Ruan family ended, Li Yuan continued to cultivate peacefully in the martial arts academy.

The remaining opportunities to search corpses were also all arranged within these few days.

Currently, Li Yuan enjoyed the treatment of the most Core Disciple in Meifengshan Martial Arts Academy.

Rankings like Grade A or Grade B no longer held any meaning for Li Yuan.

Li Yuan's strength was no longer comparable to the current generation of academy Disciples.

Even Yan Chenzhou admitted he was inferior, and other academy Disciples had long since given up the idea of comparing themselves to Li Yuan.

In the academy, Li Yuan now decided for himself how to cultivate and which direction to take.

None of the elders in the academy would offer suggestions to Li Yuan.

For a top-tier Genius, there were very few suggestions people at their level could provide.

Even if the Geniuses' martial Dao Realm was temporarily inferior to these Instructors,

the cultivation methods of a Genius were truly far removed from those of ordinary people.

Following what the Instructors said might actually hold them back.

So these Instructors were also quite sensible and preferred to let go.

Li Yuan was truly very idle and free in the academy now.

After about twenty days of such peaceful life, trouble from the Yan Family arrived.

Meifengshan Martial Arts Academy received the news in advance.

The Yan Family would come to Meifengshan Martial Arts Academy in five days to discuss matters.

The subject of the discussion was to have Li Yuan serve as a Medicine Tester for Yan Chenzhou.

Reasonably speaking, after that series of previous events, the Yan Family shouldn't have been so thick-skinned.

Even if they had such thoughts, they wouldn't dare to be so blatant.

The world still operates according to a basic sense of reason.

This reason might be far-fetched, but it must exist nonetheless.

After receiving the news, Li Yuan immediately asked about the reason.

He obtained the information from the academy elders.

The Yan Family's visit this time was based on the claim that they had obtained the consent of the military commander Li Yuan belonged to.

In other words, the Yan Family had gone to talk with the garrison commander of Yingyang Pass.

By obtaining a written document from the Yingyang Pass military, they could be said to have reclaimed a sense of justification.

"Li Yuan, the academy finds this matter very difficult to handle right now.

Academy Disciples are technically only here to study.

Strictly speaking, the academy can only offer you suggestions and guidance.

Your ultimate placement is still with the frontline army of Yingyang Pass.

Since the Yan Family obtained written consent from the military, Meifengshan Martial Arts Academy, by rule, can only comply with their demands..."

Li Yuan listened to the Instructors' explanation.

He had a general idea of what was happening in his heart.

The Yan Family was experienced in such schemes; they had found an opportunity to seize the moral high ground for themselves.

If Yan Chenzhou didn't go to be a Medicine Tester for Li Yuan, the Yan Family had a perfect excuse.

This was an arrangement by the power behind Li Yuan, agreed upon by the military superior at Yingyang Pass.

It wasn't that the Yan Family wanted to break their word or refuse to keep their promise.

It was simply that the elders behind Li Yuan requested the Yan Family not to do that.

Not only did they not need Yan Chenzhou to help Li Yuan test medicine, but they also wrote a letter and stamped it with a seal.

On the contrary, the letter required Li Yuan to go and be a Medicine Tester for Yan Chenzhou.

In other words, the previous competition had completely lost its effect.

"Instructors, are you sure that Yingyang Pass gave the Yan Family a written document?"

Li Yuan spoke to confirm.

Hearing this, the Instructors hesitated for a moment but still nodded.

"It should be true; the Yan Family has no reason to lie about this.

The academy has already sent someone to Yingyang Pass; it will be confirmed in a few days.

From the existing evidence, it seems those at Yingyang Pass took benefits from the Yan Family..."

Li Yuan nodded upon hearing this.

The Yan Family was a top-tier aristocratic Family in Da Shun and even had a Ninth-Grade Supreme backing them.

Under such circumstances, it was only too normal for those in the City Lords Mansion of Yingyang Pass to abandon him.

Although the current City Lord, Wang Jiuxing, had been promoted because of him,

what Wang Jiuxing saw was that mysterious powerhouse, not Li Yuan himself.

"The Dean's intention is for him to go and talk with the Yan Family.

Previously, the Yan Family promised to compete in talent and potential, but now that they've lost, they're looking for all sorts of strange excuses.

At worst, both sides can take a step back.

When the time comes, he shouldn't come looking for you, and we won't require him to test medicine either."

Li Yuan, however, shook his head upon hearing this.

"I appreciate the Instructors' kindness.

But since the Yan Family has gone to such lengths, they won't give up so easily.

If we go to negotiate these terms, it will instead give them an opportunity to push even further."

Seeing that Li Yuan did not agree, the Instructors couldn't help but sigh.

"During this upcoming period, you must absolutely not wander around.

The Yan Family is very likely to use force.

If they kidnap or seize you, and they have the document from the Yingyang Pass military in their hands,

the academy will have absolutely no way to intervene."

The Instructors were truly worried about Li Yuan now.

What they feared most was precisely this situation.

Once Li Yuan fell into the Yan Family's hands, Meifengshan Martial Arts Academy wouldn't even be able to find a reason to step in and help.

For these elders of the academy, there were also many things they didn't understand.

Li Yuan's current performance was so outstanding.

In the future, there was great hope for him to reach the Eighth-Grade.

The academy elders couldn't understand why the commanders of Yingyang Pass would betray Li Yuan like this.

But on second thought, it seemed they could understand.

The military is different from a Family.

Li Yuan's outstanding strength might lead him to compete with them in the future.

He might even snatch their positions and status in the future.

This was completely different from a Family.

Since the Yan Family provided so many benefits, why would they help Li Yuan resist?
