Section 139

"Hmm, Ji Wuye?"

A cold glint flashed in Li Chengping's eyes, and a sneer curled at the corner of his mouth.

"Fine then, I'll meet this so-called 'Powerful Minister of Han' and see what he's truly made of!"

Several days later.

The border of Han.

The blazing sun hung high in the sky, and yellow sand filled the air.

Li Chengping's motorcade finally arrived at the Han border.

"Halt! This is the border of Han. Who goes there? Stop immediately for inspection!"

The border soldiers, holding long spears, blocked the path. Their expressions were arrogant and their tone unfriendly.

Yingge pulled back the carriage curtain and stepped out, holding a command medallion which she handed to a soldier.

"By order of my Lord, I have come to welcome a distinguished guest. Why haven't you cleared the way yet?"

The border soldier took the medallion and looked at it closely. His expression changed instantly, replaced by a fawning smile.

"So it is Lord Ji's medallion! We were blind not to recognize your status. Please forgive us, Excellency. We'll clear the way immediately!"

The soldiers immediately cleared the road, bowing and scraping with utmost respect.

The motorcade passed through the border smoothly and traveled without further obstruction to the capital of Han, Xinzheng.

The Welcoming Guest Pavilion.

As the highest-standard guesthouse in Xinzheng, it was naturally the best place to receive distinguished guests.

After settling the motorcade, Yingge took the initiative to go and inform Ji Wuye.

"Please wait a moment, Prince. I will go inform my Lord. I'm sure once he learns of Your Highness's arrival, he will be overjoyed and come to welcome you personally!"

"Mhm, go on then."

Li Chengping nodded indifferently, his gaze shifting toward a building across from the pavilion named [Zi Lan Xuan].

Zi Lan Xuan was exquisitely decorated and possessed an elegant style; one could tell at a glance it was no ordinary establishment.

"Zi Lan Xuan... Quicksand?"

Li Chengping's lips curled slightly, a trace of amusement flashing in his eyes.

He had long heard that the Quicksand organization in Han was quite powerful and mysterious.

It seemed that this Zi Lan Xuan was the nest of the Quicksand organization.

Very well, he could take this opportunity to test their strength.

Just as Li Chengping was lost in thought, a clamor approached from the distance.

"Hahaha! Prince Xia has arrived in person; my humble territory is truly graced by your presence!"

The voice was coarse and the tone arrogant, filled with an insufferable air of domineering pride.

Following closely, a burly man in armor with a fleshy face charged in aggressively, leading a group of soldiers.

The burly man was none other than the powerful Han minister, Ji Wuye.

As soon as Ji Wuye entered, he saw Li Chengping sipping tea in the center of the hall, with Yingge standing to the side.

When he saw Yingge acting so respectfully toward Li Chengping, his anger flared instantly. He pointed at her and cursed loudly.

"You useless servant! Didn't I tell you to welcome the guest? Is this how you welcome a guest? Huh!?"

Ji Wuye was fuming, spittle flying everywhere as if he wanted to swallow Yingge whole.

Yingge's delicate body trembled in fear, and she quickly hid behind Li Chengping, shivering piteously.

Li Chengping put down his teacup and looked up at Ji Wuye, a playful smile on his lips.

"You must be General Ji Wuye? Truly... an extraordinary bearing."

"Prince Xia? Heh! I didn't expect you to be such a wet-behind-the-ears brat!"

Ji Wuye's nose was in the air, incredibly arrogant, not taking Li Chengping seriously at all.

He swaggered over to Li Chengping and looked down at him with a contemptuous tone.

Yet Li Chengping maintained a calm smile throughout, as if Ji Wuye were merely a buffoon in his eyes, not worth getting angry over.

He casually picked up his teacup and took a light sip, his movements elegant and his demeanor leisurely, as if he were completely detached from the noisy environment.

Seeing Li Chengping ignore him, Ji Wuye's rage intensified. He slammed his hand on the table and roared.

"Hey! Kid! I'm talking to you! Are you deaf!?"

"Or are you so scared by my Aura that you can't even speak? Hahaha!"

Ji Wuye laughed arrogantly, losing himself in his own triumph as if he already held all the cards and had Li Chengping right where he wanted him.

However, at the height of his laughter, something unexpected happened.

*Slap!*

A crisp sound echoed throughout the hall.

Li Chengping suddenly raised his hand and slapped Ji Wuye hard across the face.

The smile on Ji Wuye's face froze instantly, replaced by unbelievable shock and fury.

He clutched his burning cheek, his eyes wide as he stared at Li Chengping as if he had seen a ghost.

"You... you dare hit me!? You actually dare hit me!?"

Ji Wuye's voice trembled and he spoke incoherently, clearly completely stunned by Li Chengping's slap.

He, Ji Wuye, was the Great General who dominated the Han court. Below only one person and above ten thousand, when had he ever suffered such humiliation?

Furthermore, to be slapped in public by an unknown brat?

This was an absolute disgrace!

"What if I hit you?"

Li Chengping slowly stood up and walked toward Ji Wuye, his eyes cold and his tone icy.

"Not only will I hit you, I will... make you kneel!"

"Presumptuous! In your dreams!"

Ji Wuye let out a roar, about to resist, but Yingge was one step ahead, kicking him hard in the back of his knees.

*Thud!*

Stung by the pain, Ji Wuye's knees buckled, and he fell uncontrollably to the ground.

"My Lord said to kneel, so you must kneel obediently!"

Yingge's tone was cold and her gaze sharp. Gone was her previous weakness; she had become incredibly assertive, her presence fully unleashed.

Ji Wuye looked at Yingge in disbelief, then at the cold-faced Li Chengping. The shock and anger in his heart had reached their peak.

"Unacceptable!"

Ji Wuye's roar sounded like a broken bellows.

The fat on his face twisted and deformed from his rage.

"Bitch! You dare betray me!?"

Hearing this, a trace of disdain flashed in Yingge's seductive eyes.

"Betrayal?"

Her red lips parted, but the words she spoke were freezing cold.

"Ji Wuye, you think far too highly of yourself."

"From beginning to end, I, Yingge, have only ever been loyal to the strong!"

"And you? You're just a corpse in a tomb. Do you really think you're worthy of my loyalty?"

As she spoke, Yingge looked at Li Chengping with infatuation. Her tone instantly became as gentle as water, even carrying a hint of fanaticism.

"The Prince's Divine Might is unparalleled; he is the true Dragon Son of Heaven. It is my honor to serve him!"

These words made Ji Wuye even more furious, nearly causing him to cough up a mouthful of blood.

"Bitch! You... you..."

He sputtered for a long time without being able to form a coherent sentence.

The fire in his chest was almost enough to burn him to ashes.

Li Chengping looked at Ji Wuye's exasperated state, his lips curling into a playful smile.

"General Ji, it seems you aren't much of anything in the eyes of your subordinates."

"Tsk tsk, how truly pathetic."

"Shut up!"

Ji Wuye roared like a wounded beast.

He struggled to stand, only to find his knees seemingly welded to the floor, unable to move an inch.

That invisible pressure continued to pin him down firmly, leaving him paralyzed.

The Aura of death surged like a tide, instantly overwhelming him.

Fear began to spread through his heart.

"Prince."

Yingge looked at Li Chengping with seductive eyes, her voice sweet and carrying a hint of flattery.

"How about letting me handle this kind of trash?"

She licked her red lips, a bloodthirsty light gleaming in her eyes, as if she couldn't wait to strike.

Li Chengping raised an eyebrow, looking at Yingge with great interest.
