"You don't feel any pain right?" she asked with a surprised expression.

"Nothing, it's actually quite soothing," Alex said with a smile and a notification came up.

Martha and Mary let go of Alex as he wasn't in pain they were supposed to hold him down when he starts to struggle but nothing happened, Jessica turned around to mix more potions so she could continue with the experiment.

"Je..." Alex wanted to call out to her but his head felt heavy, his tongue bitter and all his strength sapped away, instead of sharp pains that were visible the crystal was starting from Alex's insides.

He wasn't able to open his mouth to speak or raise his hands to give signals that something was wrong.

The girls weren't paying any attention to him anymore and Mary was already sitting on the ice as she was tired of standing, all of them thought Alex's body was either compatible with the crystal or it was different in humans than in animals.

When a beast crystal is swallowed by an animal, the animal begins to vibrate furiously and convulse and eventually dies, but after much trial and error, Jessica found a way to stabilize the crystal.

Alex's hands were tied and even if they were loose he wouldn't be able to raise them, his consciousness was slowly beginning to fade as he struggled to keep his eyes open.

Alex felt his insides melting and he couldn't let out a single sound till he finally lost consciousness.

"Next we'll have to fill your body..." Jessica stopped as she turned around.

Alex lay on the chair with his eyes closed and a tiny drop of blood on his lips, his head had dropped to the right side and immediately Jessica screamed.

"NO NO NO, THIS WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN..." Jessica shouted as she grabbed

"What's wrong," Mary asked as she stood up, immediately she saw Alex she stumbled backward and lost balance causing her to fall, Martha on the other hand stood there with her eyes widened.

Jessica opened Alex's mouth and poured two health potions down his throat in hope that Alex was still alive but even after both of the potions entered his body, Alex didn't move an inch.

"Is he dead, how is that possible?" Martha asked with a shaky voice.

Jessica's face turned pale immediately and she stumbled backward and collided with her table, she knew Alex was dead and she was the one responsible for his death, even if no one finds out she would have to bear the guilt.

Jessica's breathing became heavy and at that moment an idea flashed in her mind and she placed her hands on Alex's chest.

"The crystal, we can bring him back, move away and do as I say" Jessica shouted and both of the girls moved away from Alex.

Jessica hurriedly mixed a light blue potion with the health potion in front of her, she added a drop of another yellow potion turning the potion pitch black, both of the girls had to cover their noses as the potion had a disgusting stench.

Jessica couldn't care about the smell of the potion when the crystal in Alex's body could die out any second if she doesn't go through with what she was doing.

"What that?" Martha asked.

"A deadly poison, I need you now, take all the health potions and assist me" Jessica spoke as she carried the black potion to Alex.

"You said it was poison, do you want to feed it to him?" Mary asked.

"Yes, he's already dead so it won't matter as long as we get it right we would definitely bring him back," Jessica said as she opened Alex's mouth and fixed the potion on his lips.

"What do you want us to do with the potions?" Martha asked.

"I need you for two things, after I pour the potion in his body, pour all the health potion we have and after that I want you to infuse Mana in his body," Jessica said to the girls.

"Mana...you know we are not healers right," Mary said.

"Just do as I say" Jessica shouted and both of the girls obeyed.

Jessica took a deep breath and mumbled some words before pouring the black liquid inside Alex's body, immediately Mary and Martha poured all eight of the health potions left.

"Now"

Mary and Martha placed both of their hands on Alex and infused Mana into his body, they were both seasoned mages so both of them possess a large amount of Mana in their core.

"How long would this take?" Martha asked after a while.

"Keep going," Jessica said as she placed her ears on Alex's chest, Alex still wasn't breathing but the crystal in his body was still active.

"I don't think I can last much longer" Mary spoke with sweat already covering half of her face as she kept infusing Mana in Alex's body.

Unlike Martha who had an affinity to fire, Mary was good at space magic making her able to create portals and teleport herself and others to a marked location. Mary's Mana was already running low but she tried her best and infused more Mana.

"Stop" Jessica shouted and Mary fell to the ground.

"Is he awake?" Martha asked breathing heavily.

"No...but he's supposed to come back. Wake up..." Jessica shouted in tears and used her right hand to hit Alex's chest and immediately he coughed out the black liquid.

"Are you alright?" Martha asked immediately.

"I'm fine and what is this disgusting liquid in my mouth" Alex complained.

Jessica fell on the ground and broke into tears, before the tears were just falling down her cheeks but now she was crying.

"Why is she crying, what's wrong?" Alex asked still surprised about what was happening, Jessica was crying, Martha was extremely tired and Mary already passed out due to exhaustion.

Alex looked around surprised, to him he just lost consciousness for some seconds and the girls brought him back but to them, it was a different situation.

The system alerted Alex and series of notifications appeared before him.
