1: Traveling through another world, starting with a 055 destroyer!
Cold, hard.
And an omnipresent, bone-deep salty smell.
Lin Feng suddenly opened his eyes, the dazzling white light instantly making him squint. Instead of the familiar city noise, a low, continuous, rhythmic rumble filled his ears, like the beating heart of some colossal steel creation.
He found himself lying on a narrow but neat single bed, covered by a dark green military blanket. The room's four walls were cold metal, and above his head were neatly arranged pipes and LED lights emitting a soft white glow. A small screen fixed to the wall flickered with complex charts and numbers.
“Where… is this?” Lin Feng struggled to sit up, his head throbbing as countless chaotic memory fragments surged into his mind like a tide.
Lin Feng, twenty-five years old, a programmer at a certain Huaguo tech company, was still working overtime last night to launch a damned project, then everything went black… and he woke up in this godforsaken place?
He threw off the blanket, his bare feet hitting the cold metal floor, a chill penetrating to his very core. He stumbled to a small porthole in the corner of the room and strained to look out.
The next second, he was struck by lightning, freezing in place.
Outside the porthole was an boundless, dark blue, raging sea! The sky was terrifyingly gloomy, thick lead-gray clouds hung low over the surface of the sea, and strong winds whipped up monstrous waves, fiercely crashing against… crashing against the steel behemoth he was on!
This was a ship! A modern warship of unimaginable size!
Its streamlined hull steadily rose and fell, cutting through the Raging Waves, and the massive bridge superstructure stood majestically. Most striking were the two sets of neatly arranged, eerily gleaming square launch cell covers – the Vertical Launch System (VLS)! Amidships, a sci-fi-looking naval gun turret pointed into the distance, flanked by close-in weapon systems and anti-ship missile launchers. A huge helicopter deck was faintly visible at the stern.
“055…” Lin Feng murmured to himself. As a half-baked military enthusiast, he recognized the highly distinctive silhouette of this ship. This was none other than the Huaguo Navy’s most advanced 10,000-ton class missile destroyer – the Type 055!
But how could he, a programmer, end up on a Type 055 destroyer? And from the looks of it, this giant ship was sailing alone in a storm-ravaged, unfamiliar sea!
Before panic could fully seize his mind, a cold, emotionless electronic synthesized voice abruptly sounded in his head:
[Host consciousness detected… Life signs stable… Binding conditions met…]
[“Deep Blue Hegemony” system activating…]
[1%... 15%... 50%... 100%!]
[“Deep Blue Hegemony” system activation successful!]

A torrent of information cascaded into Lin Feng’s consciousness. A translucent, technologically advanced virtual interface instantly unfolded before his eyes, clearly displaying:

“System? Commander?” Lin Feng sharply pinched his thigh, the sharp pain confirming this wasn't a dream. He had really transmigrated and was bound to an awesome-sounding “Deep Blue Hegemony” system, becoming the highest Commander of this steel beast of the sea!
A tremendous sense of absurdity intertwined with an indescribable excitement. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. His programmer's logical thinking began to operate: the primary task was to understand the current situation and take control.
Just then, a piercing alarm blared throughout the entire ship without warning!
*Woo—woo—woo—!*
Sharp, urgent, with a heart-tightening sense of urgency! Outside the porthole, the red rotating alarm lights on the bridge top and mast flashed madly, painting the gloomy sea surface with an ominous blood-red hue!
Lin Feng's system interface instantly switched, a prominent red radar scan occupying the center of the screen. Approximately 120 kilometers ahead of the green light representing Deep Blue 01, two hostile red flashing signal points were rapidly approaching! Their trajectories clearly showed them heading straight for Deep Blue 01!
[Warning! Unidentified high-speed targets detected approaching!]
[Distance: 118 km… 117 km… 116 km…]
[Speed: Mach 0.8… Mach 0.82…]
[Altitude: Sea-skimming flight!]
[Signal Feature Analysis: High probability of anti-ship missiles!]
[Threat Level: High!]
[Commander, please issue combat orders immediately!]
The cold system prompt echoed in his mind, every word like a heavy hammer striking Lin Feng’s heart. Storm, lone ship, sudden missile attack! Starting with hell difficulty!
Lin Feng's heart was practically pounding out of his chest, but a strange sense of responsibility belonging to a Commander and the power granted by the system suppressed his fear. He abruptly pushed open the cabin door and rushed out. In the corridor, the red alarm lights cast his running shadow, making it alternately long and short, and calm yet urgent commands came from the loudspeakers:
“Combat alert! Combat alert! All hands to Level 1 combat readiness! This is not a drill! Repeat, all hands to Level 1 combat readiness!”
“Anti-missile system online! Radar full-power scan! Electronic countermeasures system activated!”
“Damage control teams to stations! Medical teams on standby!”
Crew members in dark blue combat uniforms, with serious and resolute expressions, moved like precise gears, swiftly and orderly heading to their respective battle stations. When they saw Lin Feng, they instinctively stood at attention and saluted, their eyes filled with absolute trust and obedience—an embodiment of the 100% loyalty granted by the system.
“Captain!” A tall, stern-faced officer wearing lieutenant colonel epaulets hurried over. He was Gao Qiang, the Executive Officer and Combat Commander of this Type 055 large destroyer. “Two unidentified anti-ship missiles, high-speed sea-skimming, estimated to enter terminal penetration in 7 minutes! Enemy situation unknown! Please advise!”
Gao Qiang’s voice was steady and powerful, but a hint of solemnity lay deep in his eyes. Encountering sea-skimming anti-ship missiles right at the start was an absolutely deadly threat.
Lin Feng forced himself into action, feeling the steady power of the steel warship beneath his feet as it rode the waves, and sensing the clear battlefield situation provided by the system in his mind. He took a deep breath, his gaze as sharp as a knife, and issued his first combat order after transmigrating, and as Captain of Deep Blue 01. His voice was decisive and brooked no argument:
“Order: All hands to maximum combat readiness!”
“Fire control radar lock on targets! Prepare Standard-2 Block IIIB anti-air missiles!”
“Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) power-up and warm-up! Haihongqi-10 ready!”
“Electronic jamming system maximum power suppression! Deploy chaff and infrared flares!”
“This vessel, maximum combat speed! Execute evasive maneuvers!”
“Objective: Destroy incoming missiles! Deep Blue 01, prepare for battle!”
