16: Chapter 16 Attacked Golden Shield

Upon hearing this news, Chu Qianlan's expression immediately turned grave. He opened his computer at once, remotely connected to the company server, and checked the details of the attack.

It was an organized DDoS attack. A massive influx of malicious traffic caused the server load to skyrocket, and some services had already started to lag or even show signs of crashing.

Fortunately, the company's technical team was responding appropriately, continuously blocking abnormal IPs to alleviate the pressure on the server.

Chu Qianlan quickly invoked several programs he had written previously and implanted them into the server area.

Soon, all the frequently appearing abnormal IPs were blocked, malicious traffic decreased by ninety percent, the server returned to normal, and this crisis was considered completely resolved.

However, since the other party dared to attack so blatantly, Chu Qianlan naturally would not let the matter rest.

Relying on the network security knowledge he had learned in the Technology Library, as well as the various small programs he had written earlier, he began to search for the attacker's vulnerabilities.

After a brief analysis and tracking, he discovered that although this attack traffic appeared to come from different IPs, after a few penetrations, he quickly traced the ultimate source of the attack.

This was a temporary attack team composed of three IPs. They used various methods to control many computers as zombies to launch a DDoS attack on Xinghai Technology's server.

In fact, even if Chu Qianlan had not intervened, it would have been very difficult for these people to attack the interior of the server. After all, Zhou Yuan and the others had already started to fend off the attack; at worst, the on-duty technical staff could have simply cut the power to physically isolate the attack. Either way, Xinghai Technology would not have suffered significant losses.

Chu Qianlan found the people behind the scenes and immediately hacked into their computers. Two of them were very vigilant; there was no valuable information on their computers, and the only thing he found was a set of addresses.

However, the third person was not so lucky. Perhaps due to confidence in his own skills, this person's computer actually contained quite a bit of secret company information, all of which had likely been stolen through hacking methods.

In his computer, Chu Qianlan also found a folder named "Xinghai Technology," which contained a task list and the Internet Cafe Management Software belonging to Xinghai Technology.

The requirements in the task list were twofold: first, to crack the Internet Cafe Management Software, and second, to breach Xinghai Technology's server and delete all internal information.

It was clear that the other party had launched the attack on his company because they had received this task. But regardless, Chu Qianlan would not let these three people off.

He directly took control of the three people's computers and quickly destroyed their hard drives and motherboards. Not only that, he also controlled the computers to destroy all networked devices within the local area network.

Presumably, such a loss would make the three hackers ache for quite a while.

"The problem has been solved. Everyone, handle the follow-up matters and then get some rest!" After giving these instructions in the work group, Chu Qianlan logged off.

Behind this attack was certainly a probe from a competitor. Xinghai Technology only had one software product on the market, so the answer was obvious.

However, companies that make Internet Cafe Management Software were not very strong; hiring a few hackers to attack from behind was likely their most powerful tactic, so there was no need to worry too much.

Still, this incident served as a reminder to Chu Qianlan that the company's server needed stronger protection software.

He spent the whole night in the Technology Library finding a Golden Shield Security Software, preparing to replicate it and install it onto the server.

In a small county in the Dragon Kingdom, a young man was frantically typing on his keyboard, with various codes scrolling rapidly across his monitor.

Suddenly, a smell of burning drifted out. The young man did not pay it any mind, but immediately afterward, the monitor in front of him suddenly went black, and an even more pungent smell of burning rushed into his nose.

"Damn it, how could it fail at such a critical moment!" The young man stood up abruptly and slapped the table.

He was one of the hackers involved in attacking Xinghai Technology's server. He had originally thought that this task would not be difficult and that he could easily complete it and collect his payment, but he had not expected to encounter such a turn of events.

He hurriedly tried to restart the computer, but no matter what he did, the computer remained completely unresponsive.

"It is over, it is over, I am in big trouble now!" The young man stamped his feet in anxiety. He knew full well that his computer contained a large amount of unspeakable information. Now that the computer was ruined, not only had the task failed, but his identity might also be exposed.

However, when he looked around, he discovered that the indicator lights on the two computers and one server next to him were all off.

In an instant, his anger vanished, replaced by terror on his face. He knew he was in big trouble.

To be able to silently hack into his computer and, without him even noticing, burn out three computers and one server—the skills of the person who did this were completely beyond his imagination.

Without the slightest hesitation, the young man grabbed the clothes next to him, put them on, snatched his wallet, and rushed out of the small room.

Not until he was sure he had run a certain distance away did he take out his phone and dial a number.

"How is the situation on your end? What? Two computers and one server burned out?"

"Old Third had an incident too? No, we cannot bear the losses for this! We have to find the employer! They have to be responsible!"

...

Meanwhile, Chu Qianlan was fully focused on replicating the Golden Shield Security Software.

In the Technology Library, this software was classified as intermediate protection software, and its functions far exceeded the security software of Blue Star. It could not only effectively resist various common network attacks but also possessed intelligent monitoring and early warning functions, allowing it to detect and stop attacks the instant they occurred.

After several days and nights of hard work, Chu Qianlan finally completed the replication of the Golden Shield Security Software.

After completing the encryption work, he immediately installed the software onto the company server and performed a security upgrade on the server.

Not only that, he also removed some functions to create a simplified version that could be installed and used on the company's regular computers.

With the protection of the Golden Shield Security Software, the company's network security would not have any more issues in the short term.

The development progress of StarChat was steadily advancing, and Chu Qianlan was also constantly deducing the company's future plans.

Ultimately, he decided to add a wallet feature to StarChat in preparation for future game promotions.

Of course, this was just a regular functional module, not a real wallet. Given Xinghai Technology's scale, it currently had no qualifications to launch a payment platform.

The current wallet feature was similar to a game account, attached to the payment and collection functions of zhaocaibao.

Even so, Chu Qianlan still wrote some of the Golden Shield Security Software's protection features into the wallet module to protect the wealth in the users' wallets.

That evening, Chu Qianlan was putting the finishing touches on the wallet module for StarChat. Liu Daocheng suddenly asked, "Old Third, the Campus Singer Competition is about to start. Are you really not going to take a look?"

"What is there to see? It is just pointless moaning! It is a competition for amateur singers; could they possibly produce an original classic song?" Chu Qianlan curled his lip and said disdainfully.

"By the way, Old Third, a star from Tianhai Entertainment has had a scandal. Do you know about this?"
