107: Chapter 107 The Giant's "Figure" Cabinet
Slap.
A large hand smacked onto that breathtaking patch of snow-white skin in a very provocative manner.
Put your clothes on, stop lazing in bed.
Tang Xun stood up, feeling refreshed, his muscular physique gleaming with a bronze luster in the dim light.
Liu Ruyan rolled her eyes at him in annoyance and propped herself up to sit.
Her previous cultivation robe had long since been reduced to rags, so she had no choice but to rummage through her Storage Pouch and pull out a spare moon-white long dress to put on.
As she moved, that languid charm was impossible to conceal.
Although she cursed him as a "bastard" and a "brute," her body was honest.
Her previously exhausted Qi Sea was now frighteningly full, and the Early-Stage Core Formation Bottleneck that had held her back for so long had actually been forced open by more than half thanks to this absurd "Dual Cultivation".
Even her Divine Sense had become somewhat more refined.
"This Cultivation Technique of yours..." Liu Ruyan tied her belt, her gaze complex, "Is it truly of the Righteous Path or the Demonic Path?"
"Whether it's a black cat or a white cat, a cat that catches mice is a good cat."
Tang Xun was currently studying that massive "bowl."
He took a Low Grade Spiritual Artifact dagger and struck the rim of the bowl hard twice.
Sparks flew everywhere.
The dagger's edge curled, but the bowl didn't even have a white mark left on it.
"Tsk, good stuff."
Tang Xun looked regretful. "It's a pity my Storage Pouch is too small to fit this pot; otherwise, if I took it back for the Logistics Camp to cook meals in, it would be absolutely perfect."
Liu Ruyan's eyelid twitched.
That's someone's rice bowl! And you want to use it to cook mass meals?
"Let's go, let's look around elsewhere."
Tang Xun casually tossed away the ruined dagger, grabbed Liu Ruyan's hand, and strode outward.
These Giant Clan ruins were ridiculously large.
The two of them were like two mice that had broken into the land of giants. Looking at the exaggeratedly large furniture around them, besides feeling shocked, they felt an inexplicable sense of oppression.
A single stone stool was three stories high.
A stone rod lying on the ground—presumably a toothpick—was as thick as a water bucket.
Adhering to the principle that a thief shouldn't leave empty-handed, Tang Xun casually stuffed that "toothpick" into his Storage Pouch.
"Why are you picking up that thing?" Liu Ruyan couldn't help but ask.
"The material is harder than ordinary profound iron. I'll take it back to use as a weapon," Tang Xun said righteously. "Do you understand what being frugal and managing a household means?"
Passing through this living area, the view ahead suddenly opened up.
A black structure, so magnificent that it defied description, sat like a crouching ancient behemoth, dominating their entire field of vision.
It was not as crude as the previous dwellings; the entire structure was built from a type of black crystal, with dark golden patterns flowing across its surface.
The gate alone was a thousand feet high.
Standing below it, a person wouldn't even count as the dust in the cracks of the door.
"Is this... a temple?"
Liu Ruyan felt that even breathing was becoming difficult.
The pressure rushing toward them was not Spiritual Power, but a pure suppression originating from a higher level of existence.
"Let's go in and see, then we'll know."
Tang Xun walked up to the great gate.
There were no Restrictions as he had imagined.
He pressed his hands against the door panels, his Barbaric God Qi and blood erupting, causing the black stone floor beneath his feet to instantly shatter.
"Open!"
A teeth-grinding sound of friction rang out.
The massive gate, which had been sealed for who knows how many years, was forced open just enough to create a gap.
Even just a gap was enough for the two of them to pass through side by side.
A gust of air—stale, decaying, yet mixed with a certain sacred aura—blew out from inside the gate.
Tang Xun blocked the wind in front of Liu Ruyan and walked inside.
What met his eyes was an extremely vast hall.
Twelve towering Giant Clan statues stood on both sides, extending all the way to the deepest part of the hall.
Each statue was a thousand feet tall, lifelike, with even the texture of the skin and the direction of the hair clearly visible.
Tang Xun stood at the foot of the first statue and looked up.
It was a muscular man with knotted muscles, hairless, his bald head carved with eerie spatial runes.
He had no weapon; his hands were in a tearing motion, as if he intended to forcibly tear this world apart.
What was most heart-palpitating were his eyes; there were no pupils, only two swirling abysses.
On the stone tablet beneath the statue, a few ancient cloud-script characters were carved.
"Space-Ripping Venerable — Dijiang."
"Mahayana Stage Perfection," Tang Xun clicked his tongue. "If this thing were alive, a single breath from it and we'd be gone."
Liu Ruyan's face turned pale; the pressure she felt was even greater than Tang Xun's.
That was an absolute suppression of Realm; even if it was just a statue, the lingering Dao Rhyme was enough to make a Core Formation Cultivator's Divine Soul tremble.
Walking further ahead.
The second statue was a female giant wrapped in vines.
Though they looked like vines, they were actually her blood vessels.
Her cyan skin radiated vibrant vitality in every inch, but that vitality was so dense that it instead exuded a strange, demonic aura.
She held a withered wooden staff in her hand and stepped on two Azure Dragons.
"Azure Wood Venerable — Jumang."
"This one looks kind and benevolent; she's probably a healer," Tang Xun commented. "But with this physique, one strike of her staff would probably heal someone to death."
The third statue.
A heatwave rushed toward them.
Even across the ages, that scorching heat was still heart-stopping.
This was a giant whose whole body burned with rocky flames, red hair like fire, with two fire snakes worn on his ears.
He stepped on two fire dragons, eyes wide with fury, as if he were roaring at the firmament.
"Heaven-Burning Venerable — Zhurong."
"The ancestor of fire-users," Tang Xun glanced at Liu Ruyan beside him. "Senior Sister, this is a great Senior of yours. Why don't you kowtow a couple of times?"
Liu Ruyan glared at him, but she did indeed bow slightly to the statue.
Alchemists always held a degree of reverence for powerful fire-cultivating experts.
The fourth statue stood opposite Zhurong.
It had a human face and a snake body, with a head full of red hair, surrounded by monstrous black waves.
The waves were frozen in mid-air, yet gave one a suffocating feeling that they would crash down the next second.
"Sea-Covering Venerable — Gonggong."
"Water and fire are incompatible; no wonder these two stand opposite each other. Aren't they afraid of fighting?" Tang Xun rubbed his chin.
Continuing deeper.
The fifth statue shone with golden light; it wasn't gold, but a type of unknown Geng Metal Divine Iron.
It held a giant axe in its hand, its entire body exuding a sharp aura that could sever everything.
"Golden Spear Venerable — Rushou."
The sixth statue was the most eerie.
It had a human face and a dragon body, crimson all over.
He had his eyes closed.
The light around him became distorted, as if time had stagnated there.
"Candle-Yin Venerable — Zhujiuyin."
"A monster that masters time," Tang Xun's expression grew a bit more serious. "If this thing were alive, it would be a bug."
The seventh statue was a monster with eight human heads, its eight tails dancing wildly in the wind.
"Heavenly Wind Venerable — Tianwu."
The eighth statue held a snake in its mouth and a snake in its hand, with a tiger head and a human body.
"Thunder Venerable — Qiangliang."
The ninth statue was the image of a gentle woman, but her lower body was submerged into the earth, as if she had merged with this temple.
"Thick Earth Venerable — Houtu."
The tenth statue was covered in bone spurs, stepping on an ice dragon.
"Xuanming Venerable — Xuanming."
The eleventh statue had a human face and a bird body, with green snakes hanging from both ears.
"Lightning Mother Venerable — Xizi."
The last statue.
It had a human face and a beast body, with ears like a dog's, and green snakes hanging from its ears.
Its whole body was shrouded in a layer of hazy mist; even though it was carved, looking at it made one feel dizzy.
"Poison Calamity Venerable — Shebishi."
Twelve statues, twelve ancient giants at the Peak of the Mahayana Stage.
They stood quietly here like twelve monuments, recording that long-lost glorious era.
"Is this the foundation of the Giant Clan?"
Tang Xun walked to the center of the hall and looked back.
Twelve pairs of huge eyes seemed to be staring at him.
This feeling was like an ant breaking into a figurine cabinet and being watched by twelve Ultramen.
"What a pity."
Tang Xun sighed.
"What's a pity?" Liu Ruyan asked, puzzled.
"It's a pity I can't take them away."
Tang Xun slapped his thigh. "If I could move these back and place them at the entrance of my Immortal Cave, who would dare to come and cause trouble? They'd be scared to death."
Liu Ruyan speechless, covered her forehead.
This guy's thought process always revolved around "can I take it" and "is it worth money."
"Stop spouting nonsense."
Liu Ruyan pointed to the deepest part of the hall.
There seems to be something on the wall.
