93: Chapter 94 We're at your doorstep right now!

The transport vehicle traveled for several hours on the bumpy dirt road before finally arriving at the station of the 7th Legion's 7th New Recruit Company.

The camp consisted of crude wooden and stone houses and a large number of tents, with simple fortifications and guard towers set up on the perimeter. The air was filled with the smell of dust and a faint, lingering scent of blood.

Compared to the well-equipped recruit training camps in the rear, the environment here was clearly much harsher and closer to a real battlefield.

As the vehicles came to a halt, the recruits filed out, curiously and nervously surveying the place where they would be living and fighting for the foreseeable future.

"Everyone, stand straight! Get into formation!"

A dark-skinned sergeant with a booming voice held a roster and began calling out names to assign dormitories and basic supplies.

"Piao Guochang! 1st Platoon, 3rd Squad!"

"Ji Bozhang! 2nd Platoon, 1st Squad!"

"Xia Youchu!"

The sergeant's gaze paused on the list. He looked up at the distinguished-looking Xia Youchu standing in the line, as well as Ling Tian, who stood beside her like a small mountain. His eyes flickered, but he quickly regained his serious expression.

"Xia Youchu! 3rd Platoon, 7th Squad!"

"Yes," Xia Youchu replied calmly.

3rd Platoon, 7th Squad—that was the very unit that had been dragged into the Broken Star Gorge Secret Realm in her past life!

Everything was proceeding according to her plan.

Just as the recruits were lining up to receive their supplies, a few youths wearing gear that was noticeably better than the other recruits gathered in a corner of the camp, staring unkindly in Xia Youchu's direction.

The leader was none other than Zhou Kai, who had been mocked by Ling Tian at the reporting office and punished by Company Commander Wang Tie to scrub toilets.

His Face was gloomy, and his eyes were filled with malice.

Although the punishment of scrubbing toilets had been changed to a symbolic cleaning of the training grounds due to the urgency at the front lines—thanks to his connections—there was no way he could swallow this insult!

"Young Master Zhou, is that the girl and her War Beast?" a lackey next to him asked in a low voice.

"That's them!"

Zhou Kai gritted his teeth. "They made me lose so much Face in the recruit camp! I have to get back at them!"

Another lackey was worried. "Young Master Zhou, that girl's War Beast seems a bit sinister; even Company Commander Wang Tie took a hit... Should we really..."

"What are you afraid of?!"

Zhou Kai interrupted him, a sinister look on his Face. "This isn't the reporting office! This is the front line! This is the 7th New Recruit Company!"

"My uncle is the Logistics Director for the 7th New Recruit Company! I have plenty of ways to mess with them here!"

He took out his communicator, walked to the side, and dialed a number.

"Hello? Uncle, it's me, Xiao Kai..."

A slightly greasy, middle-aged male voice came from the other end of the communicator. "Xiao Kai? What's wrong? Are you getting used to the recruit camp?"

"Uncle, I've been bullied!"

Zhou Kai immediately switched to a pitiful tone. "It's just some woman recruited from society. She thinks she's so arrogant just because she has a slightly powerful War Beast! Not only did she hit me at the reporting office, but she also let her War Beast humiliate me! You have to stand up for me!"

"There's such a thing?!"

The middle-aged male voice raised a few decibels. "Who has the guts? Daring to touch my nephew?!"

"It's that Xia Youchu! Her War Beast is extremely sinister!"

"Xia Youchu?"

The middle-aged man pondered for a moment. "Alright, I understand. She's just a small soldier; what kind of waves can she make? Uncle will help you get revenge!"

Zhou Kai was overjoyed and quickly said, "Thank you, Uncle! Can you find a way to transfer her to our platoon? Or maybe to the logistics department where it's easier? I'd like to take care of her!"

"Nonsense!" the middle-aged man scolded. "The front lines are not like the rear! Here, we value strength and military merit! Stop with those crooked ideas! Train honestly and strive to earn merit; that is the right path!"

Zhou Kai shrank his neck after being scolded, but he still wouldn't give up. "Uncle, I know I was wrong. I'm just so angry... Please, for my mom's sake, help me think of a way..."

The other end of the communicator was silent for a moment before finally sighing. "Fine, fine, I understand. I'll find a way to transfer her near your platoon. But remember, don't go too far! Don't cause too much of a scene!"

"Don't worry, Uncle! I know my limits!" A triumphant smile appeared on Zhou Kai's Face.

Hanging up the communicator, he glanced triumphantly at Xia Youchu, who was currently receiving her supplies.

Hmph! Now that you're on my turf, let's see how arrogant you can be!

...

7th Legion, an office in a logistics department.

A slightly chubby, middle-aged man wearing a logistics officer's uniform put down the communicator and shook his head.

He was none other than Zhou Kai's uncle, the Logistics Director, Zhou Fu.

He knew his nephew's character all too well.

It was definitely him starting trouble again and hitting a hard wall.

However, who else could he blame when it was his own nephew?

Besides, his sister only had this one son, and she spoiled him to no end. If he didn't intervene, he wouldn't be able to answer to his sister later.

It was just a female soldier recruited from society with no background. A little bit of pressure, making her suffer a bit and realize the reality of the situation, should be enough.

She surely wouldn't dare to make a fuss.

Although his rank as Logistics Director was only at the company commander level, it was a sweet position. Even someone at the regiment commander level had to treat him with respect!

She was just a newly enlisted soldier; surely no one would make a big deal out of this trivial matter, right?

Logistics Director Zhou Fu shook his head slightly.

He picked up the internal communicator, contacted the person in charge of the 7th New Recruit Company, and adjusted Xia Youchu's platoon and squad assignment.

Five minutes later.

Bang!!!

The Heavy solid wood door of the office was suddenly kicked open from the outside!

Wood splinters flew everywhere!

The entire room shook!

Logistics Director Zhou Fu was startled and trembled, the communicator in his hand nearly falling to the floor.

He looked up in shock and anger, about to scold whoever was blind enough to dare kick his door.

But when he saw the tower-like figure standing at the door, the curse on his lips died instantly, and his Face turned pale in an instant!

It was none other than the 7th Legion's famous fierce general, Major General Chen Tianhai, commander of the Mad Lion Brigade, standing at the door with a Face full of Evil Qi.

Those copper-bell-sized eyes were staring fixedly at him, as if they were about to breathe fire!

"M-Major General Chen?!"

Logistics Director Zhou Fu's voice trembled, and his legs were shaking. "W-why are you here?"

Major General Chen Tianhai didn't waste any words. He strode in, grabbed Logistics Director Zhou Fu by the collar, and lifted him almost entirely off the ground. His voice boomed like a bell: "Logistics Director Zhou Fu! You have some nerve!!"

"Who gave you permission to touch someone I've got my eye on?! Huh?!"
