17: Jiang Ye's first murder

"Who else wants trouble!" Jiang Ye's voice was icy cold, his gaze sweeping over the men holding swords like a blade.

Those men looked at each other. The expert at the Ninth Stage of the Profound Dan Realm had just been sent flying by Jiang Ye with a single punch; they stood no chance at all. After a moment's hesitation, they slowly began to back away, and finally, they simply picked up the man who had been knocked out and scurried off in disgrace.

Jiang Lingyi walked over to Jiang Ye, patted his shoulder, and said in a low voice, "Little Ye, come with me for a moment."

The two of them entered a room inside the house. Jiang Lingyi raised his hand and swiped it through the air before him. With a tearing sound, space was ripped open, revealing a pitch-black passageway.

"Follow me!" Jiang Lingyi said, then stepped in first.

Jiang Ye had never known his father was this powerful. Seeing him tear open space, he was utterly shocked, but he still followed.

Instantly, space tore open in front of the group of people who had just come to their home, and Jiang Lingyi stepped out with Jiang Ye.

The group was instantly terrified, so scared they couldn't even move their feet. Jiang Lingyi said coldly, "Go on! Kill them all!"

"A... all of them?" Jiang Ye had never killed anyone before. Now that Jiang Lingyi was ordering him to kill so many people, he felt very apprehensive.

"Hurry up! Don't waste time. We still have to go and kill the person who sent them here in a moment," Jiang Lingyi's tone brooked no argument.

"I..." Jiang Ye struggled internally, his hands trembling slightly.

Seeing his slight trembling, Jiang Lingyi said calmly, "Let's go! On to wiping out the one who sent them."

An old man sat in the main seat, with many people seated below him. The woman who had been beaten to a pulp was also sitting there. The old man said with a smile, "By now, those brats' entire family has probably been wiped out. You should be able to relax and celebrate the New Year."

The woman smiled smugly, her tone full of venom, "Thank you, Grandpa! Those lowborn scum, not knowing life from death, actually dared to offend me, hmph!"

Just then, with a tearing sound, space ripped open, and Jiang Lingyi and Jiang Ye stepped out. Everyone instantly tensed up, their eyes fixed intently on the two of them.

The old man forced himself to appear calm, cupped his hands, and said, "May I ask what brings you two here? If there is anything we can do to assist, we will certainly comply!"

Jiang Lingyi said coldly, "Little Ye, continue! Kill everyone here."

"It's you?" The 'pig-headed' woman recognized Jiang Ye and immediately flew into a rage. "You lowborn scum actually dared to bring people here to cause trouble?"

The pig-headed woman, however, refused to let it go and sneered, "Grandpa, it was this man's companion who hit me. Now he's brought someone here to cause trouble, though I don't know where he found him. Let's offer him double the price to kill this lowborn scum!"

The old man angrily shouted, "Get lost!" He then cupped his hands in a salute, his tone carrying a note of pleading, "Young Master, my granddaughter was ignorant and offended you. I apologize on her behalf. I hope you, a great man, will not hold the faults of a lesser person against her!"

The pig-headed woman, unconvinced, continued to mock, "Grandpa! He's just a lowborn peasant from some village. He couldn't possibly have hired such a powerful expert; he's just putting on a show. An expert like him wouldn't attack us."

The old man frowned and looked tentatively at Jiang Lingyi, "Your Excellency..."

Jiang Lingyi said indifferently, "Go ahead and fight. Even if you kill him, I will not intervene."

The pig-headed woman laughed heartily, her tone full of triumph, "Hahahaha! See? How could a lowborn peasant like him possibly hire such a powerful expert?"

Seeing this, the old man's expression changed. He glared viciously at Jiang Ye and said coldly, "Then you shall stay here!"
