29: Chapter 29 Not the Ordinary

Liu Qingcheng pressed her forehead against the ground.

Jiang Han tapped his fingers against the jade table, then stood up, walked around the table, and approached Liu Qingcheng.

"Junior Sister Qingcheng, is it?"

Jiang Han looked down at the woman at his feet.

"I, too, wish to believe him."

Jiang Han sighed, his face filled with sorrow.

"But he unleashed his demonic nature in public and murdered fellow disciples from the Law Enforcement Hall; this is a fact witnessed by tens of thousands of eyes."

He bent down, reached out to lift Liu Qingcheng's chin, and forced her to look up.

Liu Qingcheng's face was streaked with tears, and her lips were pale.

"Holy Son, Brother Tian is absolutely not a demonic cultivator!"

"He has been training diligently for three years and has never touched any demonic arts!"

"I beg you to investigate this thoroughly!"

Jiang Han released her and straightened up.

"Investigate thoroughly?"

"I have already sent people to investigate."

"Lin Tian's cultivation had stagnated for three years, and in his desperation for quick success, he secretly practiced ancient forbidden demonic arts."

"The demonic energy on him cannot be faked."

"And those two disciples whose throats were torn out—that cannot be faked either."

Liu Qingcheng listened to every word, her fingers trembling slightly.

"Impossible..."

"Brother Tian would not lie to me..."

Jiang Han turned his back to her and walked toward the incense burner in the center of the great hall.

"You also know that the Holy Land's Elder Council has already reached a verdict."

"Lin Tian will be executed in a few days."

Upon hearing the word 'execution', Liu Qingcheng swayed.

The last bit of strength supporting her dissipated, and she collapsed onto the floor.

"Execution..."

She murmured to herself, tears gushing out like a broken dam.

His soul would be obliterated, and he would suffer in flames for all eternity.

That young man, once so full of spirit, who promised to marry her with honor, would soon turn to ashes.

Liu Qingcheng lay on the floor, her vision blurred.

Jiang Han watched the blue smoke rising from the incense burner.

"It is a pity, given his talent on the arena stage."

"However..."

Jiang Han paused, "As the Holy Son."

As he spoke, he turned around to look at Liu Qingcheng on the floor.

"If I so desired, I might be able to save his life."

These words fell into Liu Qingcheng's ears like divine music in the midst of despair.

She snapped her head up.

Using her hands to support herself, she crawled on her knees to Jiang Han's feet and grabbed the hem of his robe.

"I beg the Holy Son to save him!"

Liu Qingcheng looked up, her cheeks covered in tears.

"As long as Brother Tian can be saved!"

"I will do anything!"

Jiang Han lowered his head, looking at the woman at his feet, who was as cold and pure as an ice lotus.

At this moment, she was acting so humbly for the sake of another man.

He crouched down.

He reached out his hand and gently stroked Liu Qingcheng's cheek.

His fingers wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes.

Liu Qingcheng's body stiffened.

Jiang Han's hand slid from her cheek down to her jaw.

Then, it lingered on her slender, jade-like neck.

"Really..."

Jiang Han's voice was very soft.

"Anything?"

Liu Qingcheng met Jiang Han's gaze.

That gaze had no concealment; it was terrifyingly direct.

Liu Qingcheng's mind went blank.

Although she was devoted to cultivation, she was not an ignorant child.

The warmth of Jiang Han's fingers and his unscrupulous gaze exposed his intentions completely.

What he wanted was her.

Liu Qingcheng gripped her skirt tightly.

Her delicate body began to tremble uncontrollably.

On one side was the tragic fate of Lin Tian being sliced into a thousand pieces and having his soul incinerated.

On the other side was the purity she had guarded for twenty years.

"Holy Son..."

Liu Qingcheng's voice trembled.

"I..."

Jiang Han's fingers caressed her neck.

"Junior Sister Liu, in this world, not everything that is sought is granted."

"For the sake of a demonic cultivator, I too must bear immense risks."

Jiang Han stood up and looked down at her.

"If you are unwilling, you may leave Holy Son Peak now."

"I will act as if today's events never happened."

These words shattered Liu Qingcheng's final psychological defense.

She closed her eyes.

Two trails of tears slid down, dripping onto the floor and shattering into fragments.

"I... am willing."

Liu Qingcheng bit her lip until it bled.

She released her grip on her skirt.

Her hands trembled as they reached for the ribbon at her waist.

She untied the knot, and the sash slid down.

The pale purple outer robe opened, revealing the snow-white undergarment inside.

Liu Qingcheng did not stop her movements.

She pulled open her collar, revealing her rounded shoulders.

Large areas of skin were exposed to the air.

Jiang Han watched this scene.

The Immaculate Dao Body was indeed worthy of its reputation.

Her skin was crystal clear, emitting a faint luster.

Even in this dim great hall, it was blindingly white.

Liu Qingcheng hugged her chest with both hands, lowered her head, and dared not look at Jiang Han.

She huddled on the floor, trembling violently.

"Once the arrow is fired, there is no turning back; if you regret it now, there is still time."

Jiang Han chuckled inwardly, but asked with a calm expression.

Liu Qingcheng did not speak, only nodded slightly as a response.

Seeing this, Jiang Han bent down.

He scooped Liu Qingcheng up from the floor.

Liu Qingcheng let out a cry of surprise.

She instinctively wanted to struggle, but quickly forced herself to relax.

She allowed Jiang Han to carry her, and he strode toward the depths of the bedchamber.

Layers of gauze curtains were pulled aside by a wave of Jiang Han's hand.

He threw Liu Qingcheng onto the spacious jade bed.

Liu Qingcheng curled into a ball on the jade bed.

Jiang Han undid his outer robe, leaned forward, and pressed his body against Liu Qingcheng's.

Liu Qingcheng bit her lower lip tightly, letting out a sob suppressed to the extreme.

From her tightly closed eyes, tears gushed out unceasingly.

The gauze curtains fell.

Liu Qingcheng let out a whimper, and her jade-like legs suddenly went rigid.

...

Primordial Holy Land, the lowest level of the Celestial Prison.

Lin Tian was hung in the very center of the prison.

Two thick soul-locking chains pierced through his collarbones, suspending him in mid-air.

The iron chains were engraved with runes.

Every half hour, the runes would light up.

A piercing current would travel along the chains, coursing through Lin Tian's entire body.

Lin Tian was covered in blood, his messy hair stuck to his face, and his limbs hung limply.

His meridians were sealed.

The spiritual power in his body had been completely drained by the soul-locking chains.

At this moment, he was even worse off than a mortal.

The surroundings were terrifyingly quiet, and Lin Tian struggled to lift his head.

The wounds in his collarbones were pulled, causing him to gasp in pain.

He looked at the pitch-black stone slab above his head.

He did not have much time left, and he had to find a way to escape.

"Elder Xiu..."

Lin Tian called out in his sea of consciousness.

The sea of consciousness was silent.

Ever since he was locked in the Celestial Prison, Elder Xiu had exhausted his strength to protect Lin Tian's soul and had fallen into a deep slumber.

"Who exactly..."

Lin Tian's lips moved.

"Who is framing me..."

He could not figure it out no matter how hard he tried.

Why did the spiritual energy in his body suddenly turn into demonic energy?

Why did those Law Enforcement Hall disciples die outside his cave dwelling?

He only remembered that he had suddenly lost his sanity.

By the time he woke up, it was already too late.

Demonic cultivator.

Murdering fellow disciples.

This false accusation was firmly pinned on him.

Lin Tian gritted his teeth.

He could not die; he had to find out the truth, and he still had to marry Liu Qingcheng.

Just at this moment.

Lin Tian's heart twitched inexplicably.

An indescribable sense of panic suddenly swept through his entire body.

This feeling came without any reason, yet it caused him unbearable pain.

Lin Tian gasped for air, his eyes widening.

"Qingcheng..."

Liu Qingcheng's face suddenly flashed through Lin Tian's mind.

He seemed to feel that something extremely important to him had been taken away.
