65: Chapter 65 The Ancient Zhong Family, Quasi-Emperor Inheritance

Chu Chen looked toward the sound, his brows furrowing slightly.

The person before him was familiar; it was the woman who had killed the Seven Ghosts of the Tang Family.

He was wearing a mask, yet this woman could still recognize him.

"How did you find me?" Chu Chen looked at the woman coldly.

Hearing his voice, the woman smiled slightly. "You left so quickly last time, I didn't even have time to ask your name!"

The woman sheathed her sword and walked over to Chu Chen.

"I was just passing by and happened to run into you down here."

Hearing this, Chu Chen asked doubtfully, "I'm wearing a mask, and you still recognized me?"

"Tsk, I don't distinguish who you are by looking at your face; I sensed your aura."

The woman looked at Chu Chen with pride. "So, aren't I impressive?"

"My name is Zhongli Xue, and I come from the Ancient Zhong Family of Lingzhou."

"What's your name?" Zhongli Xue looked at Chu Chen, her lovely eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings.

"Luo Chen!!" Chu Chen replied.

This woman's background was quite significant! The Ancient Zhong Family of Lingzhou.

A family that could survive from the ancient era until now not only had deep foundations, but their ancestors must have included at least a Quasi-Emperor.

"Luo Chen, not bad, not bad. It's quite a nice name."

"Since fate has brought us together, how about I share a fortuitous opportunity with you?" Zhongli Xue said.

"An opportunity?" Chu Chen said indifferently. "What kind of opportunity would you share with an outsider?"

"Aiya, didn't I sneak out?"

"Besides, you're the only person I've met in this Demonic Mist Forest Sea. Moreover, you'll definitely be interested in this opportunity."

Zhongli Xue spoke with an air of mystery.

"Oh? Then tell me, what is it?" Chu Chen asked.

Zhongli Xue looked around cautiously and leaned close to Chu Chen's ear.

"Let me tell you, this Saint Inheritance is actually just a distraction; buried inside is actually the tomb of a Quasi-Emperor."

"A Quasi-Emperor! You mean the Saint Inheritance is hiding a Quasi-Emperor Inheritance??"

Zhongli Xue nodded. "That's right, a Quasi-Emperor. When I entered this Qingxuan Holy Land, I sensed that aura. There's absolutely no mistake."

"Although it was just a sliver, it nearly cost me my life. If I didn't have a protective treasure, I might have died there already."

As she said this, Chu Chen did indeed detect a trace of lingering fear in Zhongli Xue's eyes; she was likely telling the truth.

However, Chu Chen wasn't so foolish as to believe someone after just a few words.

"How did you discover this Quasi-Emperor Inheritance? And as you said, you only sensed a sliver of emperor qi, so how can you be so certain it's a Quasi-Emperor Inheritance?"

A blue light flickered in Zhongli Xue's hand, and then a white rat appeared.

"Here, it's all thanks to it. It guided me there."

Chu Chen was speechless. "You're saying you're relying on this rat?"

"Hey! Don't look at me like I'm an idiot, okay?"

"One look and I can tell you're ignorant. This is a Treasure Hunting Rat. In all of the Nine Provinces, only my Zhong family has them, and there are no more than three."

"I stole this one from the Ancestor," Zhongli Xue explained.

"Chu Xiaozi, this girl isn't lying to you. The thing in her hand is indeed a Treasure Hunting Rat."

"However, these Treasure Hunting Rats went extinct back in the ancient era. I didn't expect this girl's clan to still have three of them."

"It seems this Ancient Zhong Family has existed for at least a million years."

Hearing this, Chu Chen replied, "A million years? You hadn't even heard of this Ancient Zhong Family a million years ago? Just what era of old fossil are you?"

"Tsk, Chu Xiaozi, don't worry about which era I'm from. If what this girl says is true, there might really be a Quasi-Emperor Inheritance behind this Qingxuan Holy Land."

Seeing that Chu Chen hadn't responded for a long time, Zhongli Xue said angrily, "Hey, I'm kindly inviting you to come along. If you don't go, I'll go by myself. Don't come crying when I get the Quasi-Emperor Inheritance."

"Where did you find it?" Chu Chen asked.

Hearing this, Zhongli Xue smiled. "So you've come around? Then I'll reluctantly forgive you."

"Follow me closely, I'll take you there."

Then, the two figures turned into streaks of light and headed toward the center of the Qingxuan Holy Land.

Along the way, Chu Chen and Zhongli'er occasionally saw the Demon Race and Human Race slaughtering each other.

It wasn't just over previous conflicts, but also to fight for the rare treasures within the Qingxuan Holy Land.

The figures of Chu Chen and Zhongli Xue were like brilliant meteors, quickly streaking across the sky.

They soon arrived at the center of their destination. Looking out...

It was a vast, flat wasteland, except for some scattered ruins and debris.

There was also a massive ravine that looked as if it had been carved out by a peerless immortal sword.

This ravine was thousands of feet long and dozens of feet wide, and its depth was like a bottomless abyss, making one feel instinctive fear at a single glance.

"You said the Quasi-Emperor aura you sensed is down in this ravine?" Chu Chen asked.

Zhongli Xue nodded. "That's right, that Quasi-Emperor aura definitely comes from beneath this bottomless ravine."

"Let's go down together. Don't worry, I've learned my lesson this time; I've already activated the treasure the Ancestor gave me."

"Stay close to me, and it should be fine."

"Okay," Chu Chen nodded, and then jumped down into the bottomless ravine.

However, after Chu Chen and Zhongli Xue went down, a scraping sound rang out.

A demonic beast covered in countless tentacles appeared, its eyes emitting a bloodthirsty light.

"Blood food... delicious blood food."

Then it also leaped up and jumped into the abyss-like ravine.

Chu Chen and Zhongli Xue descended all the way, the darkness before them so thick they couldn't see anything.

After an unknown amount of time, their feet finally touched the ground.

A golden light lit up from Chu Chen's hand, illuminating the surroundings and making everything clearly visible.

They immediately saw dense clusters of black crystals clinging to the rock walls, emitting a faint light.

"These are Black Rock Crystals," Chu Chen said.

"Good eyes. These are indeed Black Rock Crystals, a top-grade material for artifact refining. However, I don't know what material this wall is made of."

"I spent a lot of effort earlier just to pry off two pieces. If we want to take them all, it would probably take us forever."

"Alright, let's ignore this for now. We have serious business to do."

Zhongli Xue casually took Chu Chen's hand and walked toward another part of the wall.

"Chu Xiaozi, be careful. I sense a life force in here, and there's something eerie mixed in with it," Ming Yuan warned.

"You mean there's something still alive in here?" Chu Chen asked doubtfully.

"That's right. Not only is it alive, but its aura is very strange. Chu Xiaozi, be careful."

"Okay," Chu Chen replied.

At that moment, the Treasure Hunting Rat on Zhongli Xue's person also began to squeak.

The two of them stopped immediately. Zhongli Xue looked ahead and said, "We're here. This is the place."
