223: How to tame the Soul-Eating Bee Hatchlings

While waiting for the dishes to be served, Judy received a crystal ball from an attendant.

This was a Memory Crystal, used in the Star Abyss and this universe to record important events or documents, lasting for trillions of years.

As Judy slowly injected a trace of energy into the crystal ball, a light screen immediately projected into the room. The first thing to appear was a clear and highly impactful image: a vast Bee Swarm, like a plague of locusts, wherever they passed, all creatures bitten rapidly aged. In just a moment, a city resembling a Satellite City was filled with skin-and-bone corpses. These were Trial Takers whose souls had been completely devoured, dying directly of old age.

Huang Chen watched, cold sweat dripping.

In his previous life, the disaster of the Soul Devouring Bees was quelled as soon as it emerged, so he had never witnessed such a cruel scene.

The people in the image all seemed to be Trial Takers above level 100.

But under the overwhelming attack of the Soul Devouring Bees, they still had no power to retaliate.

Fortunately, he hadn't impulsively tried to test the Soul Devouring Bees' strength back then.

Otherwise, even if he could have teleported away the moment he was bitten, he would have undoubtedly suffered greatly from his soul being devoured.

"Fierce! Too fierce!"

Jin Wanliang pointed at the light screen, his chubby face trembling slightly. "Brother Huang, look at these records, they are all tragedies in history where people encountered Soul Devouring Bees! They attack the soul origin, ignore armor, and are endless in number. Once you're caught, it's eternal damnation! Want to capture one? Difficult! Harder than ascending to heaven! However..."

He changed the subject and looked up at Judy.

"Hehe!"

Judy smiled, put away the crystal ball, and took another crystal ball from the attendant's hand.

However, this time no images appeared on the light screen, only long passages of text.

Judy looked at the light screen and slowly said, "The records mention that when our clan first entered the Abyss as Trial Takers, there was once a brilliantly talented Trial Taker with heaven-defying luck who successfully captured a Soul-Devouring Bee King Cub and tamed it as a battle pet!"

"From then on, this person, relying solely on their Soul Devouring Bee Swarm, swept across the Star Abyss with no one daring to stop them."

"Ultimately, they even led their clan to win the championship of that session!"

Huang Chen and Jin Wanliang stared intently at the light screen.

Judy glanced at the two and continued, "Our clan has experienced countless years in the Star Abyss. Although opportunities to encounter Soul Devouring Bees are rare, over the long years, there are still a great many records. Here, I'll just tell Brother Huang the conclusion directly."

"The final conclusion of this crystal ball is: the Soul-Devouring Bee King can only be captured and tamed during its infancy. As an adult, its intelligence is profound, it is fierce and untamable, with no possibility of being subdued."

"Moreover..."

Judy paused, slowly picked up her wine glass, and took a big gulp, her excitement growing on her face. "And the most crucial thing is the method! Brother Huang, look!"

Saying that, Judy turned the light screen to the final conclusion section.

"Although Soul Devouring Bees are fierce and specialize in attacking souls, their physical and magical attack power... is almost zero! So low that it's difficult to even break through the most basic defense of an ordinary Trial Taker! Because of this, this creature is naturally immune to magic and physical attacks. Any attack can only cause a forced one point of health deduction."

"Low attack power! Physical and magic immunity!" Huang Chen raised an eyebrow.

"Exactly!" Judy nodded, then flicked her finger, and a phantom image of the Soul Devouring Bee's mouthparts was outlined on the light screen.

"Their terror lies in the absolute strangeness of their attack method and their enormous numbers. Their mouthparts can ignore any defense, directly tearing and devouring the soul origin, causing irreversible aging. Therefore, unless a Main God-level person is dispatched with confinement artifacts, it is very difficult for any living creature with a soul to deal with overwhelming Soul Devouring Bee Swarms."

"So, only creatures without souls have a chance to tame the Bee King?" Huang Chen frowned thoughtfully, muttering, "Creatures without souls."

Suddenly, Huang Chen sharply looked up at the two. Judy and Jin understood, their faces growing with joy, and then they simultaneously shouted, "Clones!!!"

After speaking, the three looked at each other and burst into hearty laughter.

Judy was the first to raise her cup: "This king congratulates Brother Huang in advance on acquiring the Bee King! Cheers!"

Huang Chen and Jin Wanliang also raised their cups and laughed: "Hahaha! Cheers!!"

After draining their cups, Judy turned to Huang Chen again and admonished, "Brother Huang, the records state that Soul Devouring Bees have a speed of 500 meters per second. If you plan to act, you must wait for the cub to build a nest. At that time, it and all the Bee Swarm will desperately protect the hive. Otherwise, if you attack before it has built a nest, and the Soul Devouring Bees are determined to leave, it might cause more trouble."

Huang Chen nodded, and just as he raised his wine glass again to thank the two.

With a "swish~," Huang Chen's figure disappeared from the private room.

Only the dull thud of a wine glass falling to the ground remained.

"Brother Huang... what was that??" Judy looked at Jin Wanliang in confusion.

Jin Wanliang shook his head. Huang Chen had always been polite, so why would he leave without a word?

About ten seconds later, just as the two thought Huang Chen had truly left.

With a swish, Huang Chen's figure reappeared in his seat.

"Uh!!"

Huang Chen awkwardly cupped his fists and bowed to the two. "Please don't mind me, gentlemen!! I just forgot I was still in a ring (arena battle) and was teleported away before I could explain."

"Arena battle?" Judy asked, "Are you talking about this season's Ladder Challenge Tournament?"

"Mhm!"

Hearing Huang Chen's affirmative answer, Judy and Jin Wanliang were too shocked to speak.

How could it be so fast?

Didn't the arena battle have a ten-second preparation time?

Even if Huang Chen's opponent stuck their head out for Huang Chen to chop at the very beginning of the match, it couldn't have been that fast.

The three chatted for over two hours in the private room.

During this time, Huang Chen left again for ten seconds to finish the last qualifying match.

When the last qualifying match was over, the Star Abyss announcement followed.

【Ding! The individual and guild qualifying rounds of the Ladder Challenge Tournament have all concluded. Congratulations to the top 70 billion Trial Takers in the individual group and the top 100 million guilds in the guild group.】

【The second stage elimination round will begin in three days. Please, qualifiers, prepare thoroughly. At 12 PM three days later, the elimination round will officially begin.】

"The qualifying rounds are over?"

Judy looked at the giant light screen in the sky and asked, "Brother Huang must have won both championships!"

"Hehe!" Huang Chen laughed, "I was lucky enough to get first in both."

"Congratulations!" Judy and Jin Wanliang cupped their fists in congratulation.

"Thank you!" Huang Chen returned the gesture.

Seeing that it was getting late, Judy and Jin Wanliang said their goodbyes and left.

Huang Chen, however, was quite interested in checking the rankings.

Currently, the first, second, and third places in the individual group were still him, Consort Shu, and Tie Shengnan, while his Harem Legion occupied 80% of the remaining top fifty spots.

To his surprise, Feng Wu had risen from 100th to 46th place.

"Perhaps she was stimulated by the rankings of the other Harem members!" Huang Chen thought to himself.

After all, it was quite difficult for High Martial Race Groups to widen the gap through Star Abyss rewards.

For example, Low Martial Race Groups initially have a bone structure of 5. A reward of a hundred or eighty points would be more than ten times that of other race groups.

But High Martial Race Groups have an initial bone structure of several hundred points. Even if you reward them with a few hundred more points, it's only a one-fold difference.

Closing the individual rankings, Huang Chen opened the guild rankings.

The top ten in the guild rankings truly surprised Huang Chen.

Aside from Forbidden City and Yanhuang securing first and second places without suspense.

Huaxia actually had 6 other guilds occupying spots in the top ten.

This meant that currently, the Huaxia Clan directly occupied 8 of the top ten spots.

Such a grand occasion was absolutely unprecedented... although Huaxia's bone structure, levels, and equipment were ahead of other Low Martial Race Groups.

But besides Forbidden City, the other Huaxia guilds didn't have the Child of Destiny who cheated.

Under these circumstances, still being able to dominate the top eight positions was enough to show Huaxia's current terrifying strength.

Closing the panel, Huang Chen teleported back to his villa in Jinling City.

Just as he was about to summon Liu Ruyan to help him relax, a surprise came from his clone—the clone, following the Bee King Cub, had just entered Fengling Plateau!
