128: Three Earth-level assassins arrived
“Hmph, petty tricks!”
Although he couldn't see anything, as a Quasi Grandmaster of Martial Dao Eighth Grade, he could still determine the direction of the incoming arrows by listening.
With a cold snort, his entire body surged with true qi. The dense arrows flying through the air, when they were less than a fist's distance from him, seemed to encounter an invisible wall and could not advance an inch further.
Then, Cui Hui waved his large hand, and these arrows fell powerlessly to the ground.
“Your Highness, are you alright?”
After doing all this, Cui Hui eagerly asked Su Ming, who was behind him.
“Mm, I’m fine, let’s keep going.”
Su Ming replied faintly, his tone betraying no ripple of emotion.
Cui Hui shook his head with a bitter smile. It was then that he remembered that the person behind him was no longer the Su Family wastrel he needed to protect, but an existence whose strength he had to look up to.
Although he thought this, as a Slave, he knew that no matter what realm his master reached, he still needed to show his willingness to brave life and death for him.
Relighting the fire starter, Cui Hui respectfully said:
“Your Highness, please be careful. This old Slave will continue to lead the way for you.”
The passage before them seemed endless. The two walked for nearly five more minutes and still saw no end, only their footsteps echoing continuously in the empty passage.
“Creak~”
A faint sound came from under Cui Hui's feet, sounding so jarring at this moment.
Cui Hui's steps paused instantly, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead. He knew without thinking that another mechanism had been triggered.
Just then, countless long spears shot out from the walls on both sides of the passage. The tips of the spears shimmered with an eerie purple light, clearly indicating they were poisoned and guaranteed death upon contact.
Without time to think, Cui Hui directly drew a soft sword from his waist. Amidst the flash of blades, he severed all the long spears that had thrust out from both sides.
However, Su Ming, who was behind him, was much simpler. He merely trembled slightly, and waves of invisible qi spread out, directly shattering the long spears aimed at him.
Having been ambushed twice, Cui Hui could no longer suppress the anger in his heart and said coldly:
“This one will see today what other tricks these rats, who only know how to hide in their rat holes, have!”
With that, he prepared to charge forward with all his might.
“Cui Hui, you may step back for now.”
Just as he was about to move, he was stopped by Su Ming’s command.
“Yes, Your Highness.”
Knowing that his master disliked it when someone went against his wishes, Cui Hui, though eager to act, obediently retreated behind Su Ming.
Su Ming kept his hands tucked in his sleeves, showing no tension about being in the Senluo Hall headquarters. Instead, he looked more like he was taking a stroll, a mocking smile playing at the corner of his lips.
“Is this all the trickery the great Senluo Hall has? You truly disappoint this King.”
An old voice came from the end of the passage.
“Hahaha, as expected of King Pinggan of Northern Wilderness, truly impressive.”
“Prince Pinggan, don’t be anxious. These are just appetizers; the main show is yet to come.”
As his words fell, the candles on the walls on both sides of the passage spontaneously ignited without wind, completely illuminating the passage. Su Ming then saw countless assassins in black robes appear not far away.
Noisy footsteps also came from behind, and in an instant, Su Ming and Cui Hui were surrounded, like turtles in a jar.
The old voice came again at this moment.
“Hahaha, young man, I don’t know who gave you the courage to dare to trespass into my Senluo Hall’s sacred ground alone!”
Then a child's voice rang out.
“Old poison, why waste words with him! Everyone, attack!”
The firelight flickered, and countless Senluo Hall assassins rushed towards Su Ming and Cui Hui like phantoms.
There was no sound of fighting, nor any shouts. These people had cold expressions, like a group of cold-blooded venomous snakes.
“Heh heh, a mantis trying to stop a chariot.”
Su Ming snorted disdainfully, took a step, and his body vanished as if teleporting. When he reappeared, he was already behind the group of assassins.
At this moment, these assassins stood still, as if frozen in place.
“Bang bang bang~!”
The next second, their bodies exploded without warning, directly staining the surrounding walls blood-red. A nauseating stench of blood spread through the unventilated passage.
“Hiss......”
Seeing this scene, the cold indifference in the eyes of the assassins surging from behind Su Ming instantly turned into fear, as they stared in disbelief at the sight before them.
In just one second, a hundred Senluo Hall assassins were instantly killed, which directly shattered their worldview.
“What are you waiting for? Everyone, attack!!”
At the end of the passage, Dou Lou's exasperated voice rang out.
“Kill!!!”
A group of black-clad assassins exchanged glances, then rushed towards Su Ming and Cui Hui again.
However, unlike their previous coldness, this time they shouted in unison, as if trying to vent the fear in their hearts.
“Cui Hui, I’ll leave this to you.”
Su Ming didn't even turn his head, merely tossing out a light sentence, and continued walking towards the end of the passage.
“Your Highness, rest assured. This place will be handled by this old Slave.”
Cui Hui licked his lips and single-handedly met the group of assassins behind him.
.........
After Su Ming walked out of the narrow passage, his vision suddenly opened up, revealing a massive square before him.
In the middle of the square stood three strangely-featured individuals, all staring at Su Ming with sinister expressions.
One had a face like an infant but a head as large as a winnowing basket; another was a gaunt, decrepit old man who seemed on the verge of death at any moment; and the last was a young man whose entire body was covered in thick layers of fat, like a giant mountain of flesh.
Su Ming narrowed his eyes, staring at these three people, a slight curve forming at the corner of his lips.
“Puppet Doll Dou Lou, Old Poison Liang Ziweng, Flesh Tai Sui Shayin.”
“Your Senluo Hall truly overestimates this King, to actually send three famous Earth-tier masters to deal with me simultaneously.”
Dou Lou smiled sinisterly.
“Who doesn’t know that the esteemed King Pinggan of Northern Wilderness is a master strategist, capable of matching an army of one hundred thousand? How could our Senluo Hall not take it seriously?”
Su Ming kept his hands tucked in his sleeves, like an old farmer chatting casually with someone.
“Then did the person who returned to deliver the message not tell you that this King is already a Great Grandmaster of Martial Dao Ninth Grade?”
This time, Liang Ziweng replied with his hoarse voice.
“Heh heh, of course we heard.”
“To reach Martial Dao Ninth Grade at such a young age, it makes us old folks both surprised and envious.”
“If we encountered you outside, any one of us would only be able to flee, but Prince Pinggan, you should not have come here yourself to walk into a trap.”
“Martial Dao Ninth Grade, we three have killed those before when working together.”
