29: Chapter 29 The Hunt Begins

Li Daoxuan appeared at Cold Moon Spring. The map marked this place as a location abundant in Cold Moon Spirit Liquid. Although this substance was not a primary ingredient for the foundation establishment pill, it was highly beneficial for increasing the success rate of Alchemy and Artifact Refining, and it was also quite valuable.

However, it was clear that Li Daoxuan had arrived late; the place had already been visited by others. But that did not prevent Li Daoxuan from obtaining treasures here.

Many people knew about Cold Moon Spirit Liquid, but few knew about Cold Moon Spirit Stone. It was a special type of Spirit Stone. If a bit of Cold Moon Spirit Stone was added to a top-grade Magical Artifact, its quality would definitely be considered Peak among top-grade Magical Artifacts.

Many Artifact Refiners were very fond of this treasure and would even pay high prices to acquire it, which showed its high value.

At the same time, this item was also an excellent bait, holding great temptation for Cultivators. The previous owner of the Blood Array had highly sophisticated methods, but he had chosen a remote location. Li Daoxuan planned to utilize the same Move.

He intended to use the Cold Moon Spirit Stone as bait, set up the Blood Array to slaughter Cultivators, and while obtaining their Storage Pouches, he could also strengthen his own magic power.

Although his magic power had already condensed to a certain level, Li Daoxuan did not mind it becoming even more refined, as this was beneficial for his Breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment Stage.

With a leap, he entered Cold Moon Spring. After searching for a long time, he finally found a palm-sized Cold Moon Spirit Stone amidst the rocks at the very bottom of the spring. Li Daoxuan's objective was achieved.

As for whether there were any more Cold Moon Spirit Stones, it no longer mattered to him. His goal had been reached, and he only needed to proceed according to plan.

The Yao Beast Forest was the place with the most Yao Beasts in the Plain Secret Realm, and also where the lowest-level ones were most numerous. Many Loose Cultivators would gather Spirit Medicine here, and many Family Cultivators with low cultivation levels did the same.

The reason Li Daoxuan chose the Cold Moon Spirit Stone was because it possessed a mysterious Spiritual Qi that allowed surrounding Cultivators to sense it.

Finding a relatively conspicuous spot, he threw a Storage Pouch and the Cold Moon Spirit Stone there, then fabricated traces of a battle at the scene. To be safe, he also splashed some fresh blood around and headed off into the distance.

The blood came from the corpse of the Blood Array Cultivator. This fellow had been Sealed by Li Daoxuan and thrown into a Storage Pouch, but because Li Daoxuan had been absorbing the Half-Jiao Yao power, he had temporarily forgotten about this guy. By the time he discovered him, his magic power had almost completely dissipated.

As long as the magic power vortex remained, this thing would generally not dissipate, so Li Daoxuan kept it on him to serve as an energy source for recovering magic power.

With this fellow's corpse, he could at least recover his magic power twice, as it was, after all, a Cultivator at the Ninth Level of Qi Refining.

After setting up the battlefield, he once again deployed the Blood Array around it. This time, in addition to the Blood Array, there was also the Green Wood Formation. He possessed Five Elements Formation Plates; for the sake of his own safety, he would spend large sums of money to purchase any means of self-preservation.

After setting up the Formation, he applied an invisibility talisman to himself, carefully hid behind a large tree, and quietly observed the area around the Formation.

"Roar!"

He did not know how much time had passed when a shrill, miserable cry of a Yao Beast rang out not far away, and he saw a Yao Beast collapse to the ground.

A young man walked out, quickly collected the Yao Beast's corpse, gathered all the surrounding Spirit Medicine, and then wanted to leave quickly.

Suddenly, a cool aura entered his perception, and he could be seen walking cautiously in this direction.

The moment he saw the Cold Moon Spirit Stone and the Storage Pouch, he suspected that someone might be lying in ambush here.

He quickly hid behind a large tree, carefully observing whether there was anyone here.

However, he did not notice that Li Daoxuan, not far away, was staring at him intently, and a Flying Sword had already been released from his hand.

The youth cautiously poked his head out, looking at the location of the Storage Pouch, his eyes filled with greed. If he could get his hands on this Storage Pouch and the Cold Moon Spirit Stone, it would definitely make his Family cultivate him vigorously, and even if he wanted to achieve Foundation Establishment in the future, it would not be impossible.

Thinking about the possibility of Foundation Establishment, his heart could not help but stir with excitement. At this moment, he had forgotten that there might be an ambush nearby and slowly approached the Storage Pouch.

Just as he was about to reach the Storage Pouch, he felt a sharp pain in his neck. Looking down, he saw a Flying Sword protruding from his neck.

"Am I going to die? Why? I am so unwilling!"

This was the young Cultivator's final consciousness. If he had obtained the Cold Moon Spirit Stone, he would have had hope for Foundation Establishment in the future, but he never expected to die before even touching it. He truly died with deep resentment.

Li Daoxuan quickly retrieved the Storage Pouch, drained all of the Cultivator's magic power, and prepared to destroy the body.

However, he suddenly thought that since this was a battlefield, could he perhaps have two corpses? He could then disguise it as mutual slaughter.

He did as he thought, took out the corpse that had been frozen in the Storage Pouch, removed the ice, and began to forge the battle scene.

Soon the battlefield was successfully forged. The Cold Moon Spirit Stone was thrown to the side, each of the two corpses had a Storage Pouch hanging on them, one had been bludgeoned to death by the other, and the other had been stabbed to death by a sword.

This method of mutual destruction was very common, but appearing here, for the sake of competing for the Cold Moon Spirit Stone, it could be considered quite convincing.

Li Daoxuan hid himself again. The aura released by the Cold Moon Spirit Stone soon attracted quite a few Cultivators.

After all, there were still many Cultivators hunting Yao Beasts and gathering resources here. Although their cultivation levels were not very high, Li Daoxuan was quite happy with this; many a little makes a mickle.

Five days later, the entire Yao Beast Forest had become empty. There were still many Yao Beasts inside, but there were very few Cultivators gathering resources within.

There were rumors that there was a murderous maniac in the Yao Beast Forest who kept hunting Cultivators. If it were just robbery of wealth, that would be one thing, but under this fellow's hands, there was no way to even escape with one's life.

Therefore, there were fewer and fewer Cultivators in the Yao Beast Forest. Li Daoxuan also knew that this method would not be effective forever.

Packing up his things, he quickly left the Yao Beast Forest.

Since there was no one left here, he would have to choose other places to continue robbing and killing Cultivators, but time was running out. There were only so many Cultivators who had entered the Plain Secret Realm, and quite a few Loose Cultivators had already died at his hands.

In the remaining two days, Li Daoxuan did not stop. Those Loose Cultivators were too scattered, and the Cultivators of various major Families also began to compete for resources; the slaughter had begun.

Whenever he saw Cultivators fighting, Li Daoxuan would hide nearby, and if both sides were badly injured, he would not hesitate to strike and kill both of them.

As for the Wang Family, Wang Pingzhang was currently eyeing the Yun Family Cultivators. Although they had obtained the primary ingredient for the foundation establishment pill, who would complain about having too much of this stuff? Whenever a Yun Family Cultivator was left alone, Wang Pingzhang would not hesitate to make a Move, slowly eroding the Yun Family's forces.

The Yun Family had not paid attention at first, but later they discovered something was wrong, especially Yun Fan, a Cultivator at the Peak of the Ninth Level of Qi Refining from the Yun Family. Among the Cultivators who had entered the Plain Secret Realm, his combat power was definitely at the forefront.

After discovering that something was wrong, he set a trap, letting one clansman leave the team, and then he quietly followed behind.

Sure enough, he discovered that Wang Pingzhang was causing trouble behind the scenes. This discovery made him furious; the Yun Family was not so easily bullied.

Consequently, under the leadership of Yun Fan of the Yun Family, they began to fight with the Wang Family, and both sides suffered casualties.

Their battle caused chaos throughout the entire Plain Secret Realm. In order to compete for resources, no one would show mercy, especially the Cultivators of all the Families; whoever they targeted would be killed and robbed.
