1: Chapter 001 The Transcendent Stone
"System Bro, can't you help me leave this Mining Site? If I'm trapped here forever, I'm afraid I won't even find a single Dao Companion before I die!"
Fanlong, deep within the Fifth Mine.
Ye Mo raised his spiritual hoe and struck it hard against the Ore.
As the clanging sounds rang out, his expression was extremely depressed.
He had finally managed to become a transmigrator and even bound a System—and a 'Pleasure Above All' Many Sons, Many Blessings System at that.
But the original owner of the body he transmigrated into was a miner. Barring any miracles, he would probably find it difficult to leave this place for the rest of his life.
Furthermore, the entire Mining Site was filled with burly men; not even the shadow of a female Cultivator could be seen.
This left Ye Mo with absolutely no opportunity to show his capabilities.
Even though the System had gifted him two 'Golden Kidneys' right from the start, boasting the stamina of an 'Eight-Times-a-Night man', they were completely useless here.
Instead, they kept him awake at night, to the point where he even developed an interest in chrysanthemums.
"Please find a way yourself, Host," the System replied mechanically.
"It's already been a month. If there was a way, I would have thought of it long ago."
Ye Mo's face fell.
A month ago, back on the Blue Star, he didn't know what had possessed him, but instead of sleeping late at night, he went swimming in a river. Within ten minutes, his leg cramped, and he sank straight to the bottom. He feared no one had even found his body yet.
Or perhaps, it had already been picked clean by the fish.
However, when Ye Mo woke up again, he found that he had transmigrated into the body of a Cultivator who shared his exact name and appearance.
From the memories of the body's original owner, Ye Mo discovered that this was a world of cultivation, and the original owner was also a Cultivator. Although his cultivation was low, only at the Early Stage of Qi Refining, he was still a genuine Cultivator nonetheless.
To Ye Mo's pleasant surprise, his Golden Finger was soon activated as well.
The only fly in the ointment was that the original owner was just an ordinary miner.
Furthermore, there were no female miners in the entire Mining Site. Any female Cultivators present were sent by the Sect to supervise the miners, and they were extremely powerful.
They were generally Cultivators at the Foundation Establishment stage.
This completely shattered Ye Mo's hopes of finding a female Cultivator in the Mining Site; he could only leave the Mining Site and search in the outside world.
But the Sect's rules dictated that once someone became a miner, they had to mine for a full thirty years before they could leave.
Faced with such an unfair clause, Ye Mo's heart turned cold.
Moreover, this Mining Site was not safe. Extortion and blackmail were common occurrences, and it was not unusual for several miners to die in a single day.
Ye Mo was truly worried that he wouldn't survive these thirty years.
"Host, you must work hard. Aside from mining for twelve hours a day and taking care of basic necessities, you still have time to Cultivate. As long as your cultivation level rises, your chances of survival will increase."
The System spoke in a cold tone.
"What fucking time? Do I not need to sleep?"
Ye Mo couldn't help but curse. He then swung his spiritual hoe fiercely, hacking at the spiritual ore as if venting his frustration.
Though they said twelve hours, it actually depended on luck.
The Sect required each person to mine a thousand Spirit Stones every month.
That meant mining at least thirty-three Spirit Stones a day.
With good luck, it might be doable. But if luck was bad, one would have to mine non-stop for twenty-four hours a day.
And if one ran into extortionists, a whole day's work would go down the drain.
"Do not complain. The strong never complain about their environment," the System said, still maintaining an indifferent tone.
"I... @#$%...&*!"
Ye Mo swore out loud.
However, with the System refusing to help, there was nothing he could do.
He still had to do what needed to be done.
As time passed, evening quickly approached.
Ye Mo had good luck today; in twelve hours, he had mined thirty-four Spirit Stones.
However, Ye Mo did not leave immediately. Thirty-four Spirit Stones was only the basic quota.
Any Spirit Stones he mined next would belong to him.
Over the past month, Ye Mo would usually mine a few extra stones every day. Firstly, to prepare for days with bad luck, and secondly, because he also needed Spirit Stones to Cultivate or to exchange for gold to buy daily necessities.
It was only the beginning of the month, so he wanted to save up more.
"Clang! Clang!"
Half an hour later, as a milky-white Spirit Stone fell from the stone wall, Ye Mo was instantly delighted and stored the Spirit Stone into his system space.
This System also came with an infinitely large space. Ye Mo usually placed his Spirit Stones inside it, which also prevented him from being extorted.
After putting away the Spirit Stone, Ye Mo was about to pick up his spiritual hoe and continue mining when, out of the corner of his eye, a sudden gleam of light flashed on the stone wall.
In the darkness, Spirit Stones would also emit a faint white glow, but the light just now was noticeably brighter.
Curious, Ye Mo leaned in closer to take a look.
He then brushed away some loose rubble.
He saw a spherical glowing bead, about the size of a baby's fist, flashing with a dazzling light on the stone wall.
"What is this?"
Ye Mo curiously took the glowing bead in his hand; it was slightly cool to the touch.
Next, he channeled Spiritual Qi into it, but there was no response.
"System, do you know what this is?"
Ye Mo called out to the System in his heart, and without waiting for the System's reply, he directly extended his Divine Sense toward the glowing bead.
Instantly, the white light of the glowing bead became even more dazzling. Then, the glowing bead actually rushed straight toward Ye Mo's mind.
At the same time, less than a meter away from Ye Mo, flashes of light kept sparking continuously.
It looked just like lightning.
Suddenly, space was torn open, slowly splitting a gap.
"Is this a spatial rift? No, to be precise, it should be a space-time portal. The other side is highly likely to be another world... Wait... Holy crap, the other side is actually the Blue Star!"
The System uncharacteristically lost its composure.
Ye Mo widened his eyes even more, a look of sheer disbelief on his face. Ever since he transmigrated, he hadn't spared a thought for the Blue Star.
He was an orphan to begin with, with no ties or worries on the Blue Star.
"System, do you mean that if I cross this rift, I can return to the Blue Star?"
Ye Mo's voice trembled slightly. Originally, he had no strong desire to return to the Blue Star. But now, under these circumstances, if he could return to the Blue Star, wouldn't his status as a Cultivator allow him to pursue many sons and many blessings without any scruples?
And even without the System, a Cultivator would definitely be able to thrive and rise to prominence on the Blue Star.
"Theoretically, yes. Let me think, why did a space-time portal suddenly break open? Oh, right, it must be because of that glowing bead. Host, please wait a moment, let me investigate..."
At this moment, that glowing bead was already resting quietly in Ye Mo's Sea of Consciousness, and its original brilliance had completely dimmed.
Ye Mo waited quietly. A few breaths later, the System's voice rang out again.
"As expected, this is a world-crossing stone. Once this world-crossing stone is activated, you can travel back and forth between the Water Moon Realm and the Blue Star. Host, you have quite the luck."
The System offered a rare compliment.
Such world-crossing stones were uncommon and extremely rare.
"Hahaha, heaven is truly helping me!"
Ye Mo couldn't help but laugh out loud a few times. If he weren't afraid of being heard, he would have wanted to throw his head back and roar with laughter.
"Host, do not celebrate too early. Every time you cross with this world-crossing stone, its energy will be depleted, and it may take a dozen or so days to fully recharge. Furthermore, once it is fully charged, if you are on the Blue Star, you will be forcibly transported back."
The System reminded him.
"Is that so? Whatever! Only by returning to the Blue Star can I sow my seeds. If I stay in this Mining Site forever, who knows which will come first, an accident or tomorrow?"
Ye Mo pondered for a moment, cast his worries aside, and stepped directly into the rift.
As his figure disappeared, the rift also slowly closed...
