94: A hidden paradise! At the end of the grassland lies a bottomless abyss!

Behind the door was a boundless space.

Underfoot was a desolate, yellow prairie that stretched to the horizon.

There was no dome here, only a gray sky, with countless dust particles slowly drifting in the air, obscuring everything.

In the distance, on the prairie, a few small dark specks were slowly moving.

"Yaks?"

Lin Yuan squinted, trying to identify them.

They really were yaks.

The yaks leisurely munched on the dry grass, occasionally raising their heads to glance at them, then lowering their heads to continue eating.

Everything was exactly as Zhou Weiguo had described.

"That's it?"

Lin Yuan couldn't help but speak, his tone filled with disappointment.

"I thought some three-headed, six-armed monster was waiting for me."

He looked around, pouting.

"Beautiful scenery, peaceful times. It seems Director Zhou had some conscience this time."

Su Wanqing was not as optimistic as him.

She took out a small instrument, and several green curves appeared on its screen.

"Energy readings are normal; environmental Spiritual Qi concentration is below the C-level alert line."

She put away the instrument, her gaze still vigilant.

"Don't be careless. Reports are just reports."

"Alright, alright, I get it," Lin Yuan waved his hand impatiently.

He was in a very good mood now.

He had suppressed the Qin Family's arrogance and now found himself in such a "Holy Land for retirement."

How was this being a Supervising Officer?

This was clearly paid vacation!

"Come on, let's patrol our territory," Lin Yuan waved his hand and walked towards the depths of the prairie.

Su Wanqing silently followed behind him.

The two walked for about half an hour.

Along the way, besides the sound of the wind, there was only the sound of their own footsteps.

The yaks were completely unfazed by their arrival, and even a few marmots poked their heads out of their holes, looked curiously, and then retreated.

Everything seemed so... peaceful.

"Hey, I say," Lin Yuan was so bored he started making small talk again.

"Beauty Su, do you think this counts as a publicly funded trip for us?"

Su Wanqing looked straight ahead: "It's an outdoor mission."

"Then this mission is too easy," Lin Yuan stretched, "If I'd known it would be this leisurely, I should have brought more picnic equipment."

He leaned closer, lowering his voice.

"Do you think the yaks here are edible? We're self-catering, after all."

Su Wanqing's footsteps paused, and she turned to look at him.

"This is a controlled Spiritual Realm. All creatures are under the Dragon Shield Bureau's monitoring and record."

"Tch."

Lin Yuan clicked his tongue, a look of disinterest on his face.

Just then, he stopped.

Su Wanqing also stopped, looking ahead.

The prairie ended.

Ahead was a bottomless rift valley, spanning across the entire land.

It was over a thousand meters wide, with darkness in its depths.

A cold current of Qi slowly rose from the abyss, chilling their faces.

"Whoa."

Lin Yuan walked to the edge of the cliff and peered down.

It was bottomless.

"This must be the 'prison' part of the 'Abyss of Suppressing Prison,' right?" he muttered to himself.

Su Wanqing walked to his side, her expression solemn.

"That's right. This is the core area. The demons and monsters previously imprisoned were all Sealed beneath this abyss."

"Then shouldn't we go down and take a look?" Lin Yuan's face showed an interested expression.

Since they were already here, they couldn't just stroll around the prairie, could they?

"The situation below is unclear; going down rashly is too dangerous," Su Wanqing immediately rejected the idea.

"We don't have professional descent equipment."

"Who says we don't?"

Lin Yuan gave her a mysterious smile.

The next second.

"Swish—"

A pair of dark golden wings, full of technological flair and aesthetic power, unfolded behind him!

It was the Thunder Falcon Wings!

"You..." Su Wanqing's pupils contracted slightly.

Before she could react, Lin Yuan had already wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Hold on tight, Deputy Officer!"

Lin Yuan chuckled.

"The Supervising Officer is taking you to patrol the prison!"

Before his words faded, he pushed off with his legs, embracing Su Wanqing, and leaped directly from the cliff edge!

"Ah!"

Even Su Wanqing let out a soft cry, startled by the sudden sensation of weightlessness.

The wind howled in their ears.

The two plunged straight into the darkness.

But just after falling a hundred meters, the Thunder Falcon Wings flapped violently, and the downward trend abruptly stopped.

Lin Yuan held Su Wanqing, hovering steadily in mid-air.

"How does it feel?" Lin Yuan's triumphant voice came, "A-grade equipment, Advanced stuff!"

Su Wanqing quickly recovered from her initial shock.

She broke free from Lin Yuan's grip, her body covered in a thin layer of ice, and she too stood in the air.

She glanced at the wings on Lin Yuan's back, a hint of complexity flashing in her eyes.

A-grade strategic equipment... truly luxurious and convenient.

"Let's begin the inspection," she said coldly, as if her earlier gasp had never happened.

Lin Yuan pouted, controlling his wings, and began to descend slowly.

The further down they went, the darker the light became.

On the surrounding cliff walls, dark holes began to appear.

These holes varied in size, arranged densely like a honeycomb.

Each hole's interior was sealed with metal bars, forming individual cells.

On the cliff face, some broken giant chains still remained.

One could imagine how many terrifying creatures were once imprisoned here in the distant past.

"This scale is impressive," Lin Yuan marveled, "I wonder what kind of unlucky souls were deemed worthy of such 'private rooms.'"

He controlled his wings and flew to a cell.

It was empty, with only thick dust.

He flew to another.

Still empty.

The two continued to explore, layer by layer.

One hundred meters.

Five hundred meters.

One thousand meters.

All the cells were empty.

This was a deserted vertical prison.

"Boring."

Lin Yuan yawned.

"It seems the report wasn't wrong; this place has long been abandoned."

He glanced at the still profound darkness below, losing interest in further exploration.

"Alright, let's head back. Today's work is done; time to knock off and eat!"

He clapped his hands, ready to turn around and fly back to the surface.

However, just then.

"Clang... clang... clang..."

A series of knocking sounds drifted up from the deeper darkness below.
