1: A divine child? A useless child!

Cold, stinging pain, and a suffocating sensation as if a Soul were being forcibly stuffed into a narrow container.

Lin Fan snapped his eyes open. What met his gaze was a ceiling adorned with carved beams and painted rafters, shrouded in mist. The dense Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi had almost condensed into substance, yet it felt heavy and sluggish as he inhaled it into his lungs. He found himself kneeling in the center of an immense altar, his body so weak it felt as if a gust of wind could knock him over.

All around was a dense crowd of people dressed in radiant, shimmering attire. Their gazes—some filled with disdain, some with pity, some with schadenfreude, and some as cold as ice—were all focused on him, as if they were looking at a piece of merchandise waiting to be sold, or rather, a piece of trash about to be discarded.

Tsunami-like fragments of unfamiliar memories crashed into his mind. The Primordial God Race, the Lin Family—one of the top powers governing the boundless Divine Desolation Continent.

Lin Fan, the son of the current Lin Family Clan Chief, the Clan Leader, was nominally the Family's Divine Son. However, this Divine Son was the greatest joke the Lin Family had seen in ten thousand years. Despite his noble birth, his Aptitude was mediocre to the extreme. After ten years of cultivation and consuming countless resources, he hadn't even reached Perfection in the most basic Mortal Shedding Realm. His personality was even more cowardly and incompetent. He held the title of Divine Son but lacked the substance, facing marginalization within the clan to the point where even ordinary servants dared to whisper behind his back.

Today was the Lin Family's decennial Ancestral Sacrifice Grand Ceremony. According to tradition, the Divine Son was required to be at the primary position of the altar, leading the entire clan in communicating with the ancestors.

But now, he was being suppressed by an invisible force, kneeling on the cold jade bricks of the altar. The primary position remained empty.

"Lin Fan!" A cold, majestic voice, devoid of any emotion, exploded over the altar like a clap of thunder.

Lin Fan looked up and saw an old man in front of the altar, dressed in deep black Elder robes. His face was gaunt, and his eyes were as sharp as a hawk's as he looked down at him. It was the Lin Family's Grand Elder of Cultivation Transmission—the Great Elder!

"As the Divine Son, your Aptitude is dull and slow. You have failed to shed your mortality for ten years, tainting our Lin Family Bloodline!" The Great Elder's voice rolled out, echoing across the entire altar square. "Furthermore, during the Ancestral Sacrifice Grand Ceremony, you are listless and dispirited, showing great disrespect to our ancestors! With such conduct and such Aptitude, what face do you have to occupy the position of Divine Son?"

Every word was like a knife, piercing the heart and bone! An immense Aura descended like a mountain, weighing heavily on Lin Fan. It made his already weak body tremble violently, his bones letting out an overburdened "creak," and a streak of bright red blood even leaked from the corner of his mouth.

"Now, in my name as the Grand Elder of Cultivation Transmission, I propose a resolution to the Clan Council," the Great Elder's gaze swept across the field and finally landed on a middle-aged man at the side of the altar. He was wearing a golden Dragon-patterned robe, and his features somewhat resembled his, but his fists were tightly clenched and his face was ashen—the Clan Chief, the Clan Leader.

"Depose Lin Fan from his position as Divine Son and cast him into the Cliff of Reflection to face the wall for the rest of his life. Unless the Family faces extermination, he shall not leave!"

Boom! The entire altar square erupted in an uproar. Although everyone knew there had long been friction between the Grand Elder's lineage and the Clan Chief's lineage, and that Lin Fan's status was precarious, no one expected the Grand Elder to be so ruthless. Not only did he want to depose him, but he also wanted to imprison him for life! This was equivalent to completely severing the future of Lin Fan and the Clan Chief's lineage!

"Great Elder! How dare you!" The Clan Leader suddenly took a step forward. A terrifying Aura erupted from him like a volcanic eruption, stirring the wind and clouds. "Fan'er is my legitimate son. Even if he has faults, it is not your place to make such a judgment!"

"Clan Chief!" The Great Elder did not back down. A similarly vast Aura rose from him, standing in equal opposition. "This is not my opinion alone! Lin Fan's character does not match his position, which has long sparked public indignation within the Family! For the sake of the Lin Family's ten-thousand-year reputation and to live up to the glory of our ancestors, how can such a waste continue to hold the position of Divine Son? Elders, what do you think?"

Behind him, several powerful Elders stepped forward in unison, their voices cold: "Seconded!"

"Clan Chief, please prioritize the Family!" The waves of voices converged, forming a massive momentum that pressed down on the Clan Leader. His expression grew increasingly grim. He could overpower the Great Elder, but he could not oppose the collective will of nearly half the Council of Elders. His gaze swept over the clansmen below who had originally supported him; many of them now lowered their heads, silently acquiescing to the matter.

Kneeling in the center, Lin Fan felt the sharp pain in his body and the ubiquitous malice and pressure surrounding him. The pride of his past life as a Huaxia elite intertwined frantically with the lingering resentment and humiliation of this body's current life.

He was not the cowardly original host! He was Lin Fan, a Soul from another world!

Why should he endure such humiliation? Why should he be tossed aside like trash?

An unprecedented wave of anger and determination rose from the depths of his heart, supporting his body that was nearly falling apart. He tried to connect with the pitifully weak sense of Qi within this body, attempting to resist this Aura, even if it was just to lift his head by an inch!

"Buzz—" Just as his will reached its peak and was about to break through some kind of Restriction, a cold, emotionless mechanical voice abruptly rang out in the deepest part of his mind:

Lin Fan's heart shook violently. As a Transmigration traveler, how could he not know what this meant? This was the only glimmer of hope in a desperate situation!

["Sign in!"] he shouted frantically in his mind.

[Sign-in successful! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the ultimate novice reward—Eternal Indestructible Body!]

Rumble!!! An indescribable power, beyond imagination, seemed to gush out from the source of Chaos at the beginning of creation. It instantly poured into Lin Fan's limbs, every cell, and every inch of his Soul!

"Crack! Crack!" His blocked and frail Meridians snapped inch by inch like rotten wood before this power, only to be instantly reshaped, becoming tougher than vajra and broader than a galaxy! The Mortal Shedding Realm barrier that had troubled the original host for ten years and felt like an iron wall didn't even produce a ripple before this power; it was blown wide open. With unstoppable momentum, he bypassed Perfection and stepped directly into the next major Realm—the Spiritual Sea Realm! But this was only the beginning!

His bones were humming, taking on a layer of eternal and immortal golden luster. His blood was boiling, turning from bright red to a pale gold that contained endless vitality. Beneath his skin, Chaos currents faintly circulated, as if they could isolate all laws and shatter any attack!

Outside, just as the Great Elder thought the situation was settled and the Clan Leader's eyes were nearly splitting with rage, "Hmm?" Everyone clearly felt an indescribable ancient, vast, and supreme Aura suddenly erupt from Lin Fan in the center of the altar, whose Aura had previously been as weak as a flickering candle in the wind!

A hazy pillar of Chaos light ignored the altar's Restriction and the pressure of the two powerhouses, descending from thin air and completely enveloping Lin Fan!

Within the pillar of light, Lin Fan's originally hunched and kneeling body was slowly lifted by an invisible force. The scars on his body disappeared at a speed visible to the naked eye, and his pale complexion instantly became ruddy and full, even faintly emitting a luster as warm as jade.

The pressure that had made it hard for him to breathe now felt like a gentle breeze brushing against his face.

He stood up straight and slowly raised his head. Those eyes, which might have once held cowardice and confusion, were now as deep as the starry sky and as sharp as a heavenly blade. The determination and coldness within them made everyone who met his gaze feel a tremor in their hearts!

"What's going on?!" an Elder cried out in alarm.

The Great Elder's pupils constricted, and for the first time, a look of disbelief appeared on his face: "Impossible! What kind of power is this?!"

The Clan Leader's whole body shook even more. Seeing his son's transformative change, a light of pleasant surprise and hope erupted in his eyes.

Lin Fan felt the terrifying power within him, vast as the sea, as if he could pluck the stars and moon with a single thought. He lightly clenched his fist, and the space itself seemed to let out a faint overburdened wail.

His gaze was calm yet possessed the power to pierce through people's hearts. He looked directly at the ashen-faced Great Elder, the corner of his mouth curling into a cold arc. His voice spread clearly throughout the deathly silent altar:

"Grand Elder, who did you say was a waste?"
