Mob strolled toward them, arms wide, that goofy grin of his stretching from ear to ear. "My sweet cousin... and her broody best pal."

Francisca let out a small laugh as he pulled her into a warm hug.

Lucifer just stared at the extended hand Mob offered him. After a moment, he shook it... no emotion, no words, and kept walking.

Mob scratched the back of his head, watching him go. "Still salty, huh..."

Francisca sighed. "Yeah. If this drags on too long, I swear... I'll kill Ella and Remu myself."

A faint wisp of orange flame flickered from her palm.

Mob's eyes widened slightly. "Yo—hey, relax. We're in public, remember?"

The foxfire sizzled out.

"I get it. What they did was messed up," Mob said, lowering his voice, "but if you actually go through with it... you'll start a clan war. And you know how nasty those get."

He paused, glancing in Lucifer's direction. "You might end up putting his life on the line too."



Francisca's breath hitched. She looked at Mob, and for a second, her usual confident expression cracked. "Thanks," she said softly, the corner of her lips twitching into a small smile.

A faint blush touched her cheeks, but it faded just as fast.

Mob chuckled. "Anytime."

He slung his arm over her shoulder and started walking with her toward the entrance.

"Now, as much as I know you'd rather get set on fire yourself... the others are inside already," he said with a teasing grin. "We better go. Orientation's about to start."

Francisca groaned, but followed.

And up ahead, Lucifer kept walking without looking back—his shadow trailing behind them like a ghost.

Lucifer stepped in front of him smoothly.

"Hey."

The guy blinked. "Uh... yeah?"

Lucifer's eyes locked onto his. There was a pulse—like velvet sliding over skin.

"Come with me."

The student didn't question it. He just nodded, like it made perfect sense.

Lucifer led him into a quiet, empty music room and closed the door behind them.

"Sit."

The guy obeyed without hesitation, blinking slowly as if in a trance.

Lucifer leaned against the edge of the piano, arms crossed. "Your name?"

"...Zane. Zane Connor."

Lucifer tilted his head slightly. "You rich, Zane?"

Zane nodded, eyes glazed. "I grew up in the south part of the city. Private schools. Top scores. But I don't really care about academics. I'm just here to make connections. And party."

Zane blinked once.

Lucifer opened the door and gestured. "You can go."

Zane walked out calmly like nothing happened.

Lucifer smirked.

Lucifer stepped out of the classroom, blending into the sea of students heading toward the orientation hall. He walked with his usual nonchalance, unaware of the silent ripple his presence caused.

But just as the door closed behind him, a faint shimmer of light flickered in the corner of the room. In an instant, the air seemed to warp—twisting—and from within it, a figure appeared.

A young girl. Blonde hair like sun-kissed strands of gold, her skin pale and flawless. She stood there for a moment, her eyes scanning the spot where Lucifer had just been.

"Interesting..." she murmured, her voice soft yet sharp like the edge of a blade. "A vampire here in college? This is going to get interesting."

Her gaze lingered on the space, an amused smirk curling at the corners of her lips. She stood tall, an air of elegance and mystery about her. Every movement she made seemed calculated, like a chess player carefully considering her next move.

"On my first day, and I meet a vampire." She chuckled lightly, a quiet thrill dancing in her eyes.

With a swish of her long skirt, she turned on her heel, walking toward the hallway where the orientation was taking place.
