123: The Dharma is born, the divine realm is formed

“The so-called Human Emperor is not a specific person, nor is it a symbol.”

“It is a responsibility.”

“Innumerable powerhouses have left their names on the Sacred Tablet; they were all figures who led an era in their lifetime. Future generations only need to touch the Sacred Tablet, and those who are qualified can face their predecessors directly and receive their Legacy.”

“Your presence here signifies your qualification to receive the Human Emperor’s Legacy.”

Inside the Sacred Tablet space, Jun Lingxiao was unaware of what was happening outside. He was currently listening to a Senior’s explanation.

This relic itself was a battleground ruin, and the presence of Jun Family’s ancestors within it was within Jun Lingxiao’s expectations, but he truly hadn’t anticipated meeting a legendary figure of the Jun Family here: Jun Yongzheng.

The legendary figure who had forever cemented the Jun Family’s position as number one in strength on the Divine Tablet.

“So, this is your Jun Family’s little one? Indeed, he is extraordinary.”

“Exactly, a child of our Jun Family should be like this. Unlike you, how many years has it been since a junior from your Family has come?”

“If you say that, I’ll get excited. Look, as a Loose Cultivator without the help of a Family, didn’t I also stand here?”

The old men around them gathered, speaking one after another. Their appearances varied, clearly indicating they came from different places.

However, they did share one thing in common: a glowing white mark on their foreheads.

“Alright, step back a bit. Don’t confuse this child.” Jun Yongzheng waved his hand at the old men like shooing flies, and only then did the surroundings quiet down.

Afterward, he continued to explain to Jun Lingxiao:

“However, although you are qualified to receive the Human Emperor’s Legacy, in reality, we can only teach and guide you. The so-called title of Human Emperor must be earned by yourself.”

“Based on your actions and performance, if you are truly qualified, the Human Emperor Seal will descend, proclaiming it to all living beings.”

Jun Lingxiao nodded as he listened. Then, Jun Yongzheng explained the wondrous nature of this space. In essence, it was a trial Dao field where Jun Lingxiao could spar with successive Human Emperors. How much he could learn, and what he could learn, depended entirely on him.

However, as he listened, Jun Lingxiao couldn’t help but ask a question:

“Then, what is the actual use of this so-called Human Emperor title?”

“Is it just a symbol? If it can’t grant any power or authority, then what’s its purpose?”

He posed a Soul-searching question.

Upon hearing this, Jun Yongzheng gave a wry smile and actually nodded, quite agreeing with Jun Lingxiao’s words.

“Actually, the first time I came to this space, I thought the same as you. Human Emperor, such a domineering title, yet it has no effect whatsoever.”

“However, later, I understood.”

“I only left a wisp of my Divine Soul, not to be enshrined in my Family, nor to be known by the world. It’s not for some false fame or anything else.”

“We stand here only to leave a fallback for future generations, a misty path. This path is vague, seemingly a legend, but it truly exists.”

“If darkness descends, then the successor we cultivate will be the final bulwark.”

“To put it bluntly, these are all spontaneous actions by us, for this world, for our Human Race, for the common people of the world—spontaneous, selfless, a backup plan, that’s all.”

“The meaning of the Legacy’s existence is for nothing else but to protect our Human Race, ensuring eternal prosperity.”

“Truly foolish,” Jun Lingxiao murmured softly as he listened.

There are so many people in the world, good and bad, related to him and unrelated to him. He is not a Saint, so why should he save them?

Jun Yongzheng listened to Jun Lingxiao’s soft words and nodded with emotion.

“Foolish? Indeed, it is foolish.”

“But in the last moments of my life, I didn’t think so much anymore. I risked my life to save what I loved, what I cherished, what I protected. As for the countless people of the world, they were merely a bonus.”

“I have no regrets.”

“Jun Lingxiao, I can see your actions within the Family. You are very capable, truly very capable, and the path you walk is certainly the correct one. Everything you have seen, heard, and felt today can be treated as if it never happened.”

“You can completely disregard things like the Human Emperor’s Legacy. Just follow your own ideas and walk the path you should walk.”

“You are not a Human Emperor because you have this title above your head. Rather, you will be revered as a Human Emperor by the world only when you have accomplished deeds worthy of the title. You should not be confused by this title or any responsibility. What you need to do are greater, more magnificent deeds!”

Jun Yongzheng spoke with increasing excitement.

Yes, for others, this Human Emperor’s Legacy was a tremendous boost, but for Jun Lingxiao, it was merely a burden. He was destined to do great things, so how could he be delayed by a mere title of Human Emperor?

“Then, let me say it again.”

“Jun Lingxiao, this is the Human Emperor’s Dao field. 1,354 successive Human Emperors stand here. This is different from other Legacies; you cannot directly obtain anything. What you have are only 1,354 teachers.”

“Of course, my speech as a Human Emperor has concluded.”

“Now, as a Senior of the Jun Family, I speak with you. You lack neither Cultivation Techniques, Internal Skills, nor Magic Treasures or Medicinal Pills. Therefore, as a welcoming gift, I have decided to bestow upon you a… ”

“Cultivation!”

As his voice faded, with a flick of Jun Yongzheng’s finger, an immensely profound power instantly drilled into Jun Lingxiao’s body, flowing through his limbs, surging along his meridians into his spiritual platform, and then entering his Dao Embryo.

After this power was transformed by the Dao Embryo, it became even purer energy that flowed back into Jun Lingxiao’s body, instantly completing a cycle.

“This is…”

Feeling the surging power within him, Jun Lingxiao’s expression subtly changed. At this moment, he felt his entire body tingling, and it was becoming increasingly severe.

But in contrast, his Cultivation was soaring in an instant!

Cracking sounds followed, indicating a faint sign of a Breakthrough.

Originally, this wasn’t much of an issue, because Jun Lingxiao himself had no Bottleneck whatsoever. It was just that breaking through to the Divine Realm required comprehending a Dharma Aspect, which needed time to sense and understand, which was why he was stuck in the Spirit Domain Realm.

But at this moment, what came from Jun Yongzheng was not only Cultivation but also his lifelong insights!

These insights were not a sudden dumping of his understanding of Dharma Aspects onto Jun Lingxiao. That would be incorrect, because a Dharma Aspect formed in such a way would be tainted with others’ elements, destined not to go far.

What Jun Yongzheng showed Jun Lingxiao was not his own Dharma Aspect, but others’ Dharma Aspects.

One Dharma Aspect after another flashed through his mind: the moments countless people comprehended their Dharma Aspects, the moments countless people unleashed their Dharma Aspects, the scenes of countless people battling with Dharma Aspects appeared in Jun Lingxiao’s mind. He watched them one by one, feeling as if he had grasped some insight, only to be pushed away by the next scene, repeating endlessly.

It was like a child seeing someone walk with a limp; you imitate it, but it’s actually wrong, so you fall. After that, when you look at others, you will know that the limping posture is incorrect.

In an instant of infinite learning, Jun Lingxiao was not observing others’ good insights into Dharma Aspects to simply imitate them.

On the contrary, he was observing the bad insights into Dharma Aspects. After eliminating countless wrong answers, Jun Lingxiao gradually gained an understanding of Dharma Aspects—an understanding of his own Dharma Aspect, untainted by anyone else’s.

“So that’s how it is.” Closing and then opening his eyes, Jun Lingxiao, after digesting countless insights, opened his eyes again and exhaled a long breath, saying.

His eyes were no longer as they were before; now they carried a blazing light, a gaze that could pierce through everything.

“So this is, Dharma Aspect…”

No sooner had his voice fallen than, in the next moment, a massive purple light pillar shot up from his body into the sky!

Accompanying it were the gradually condensing, enormous Divine Halos!

Jun Yongzheng had originally been smiling as he watched Jun Lingxiao Breakthrough, but in the next moment, he felt something was wrong. When he clearly saw the huge purple light pillar, he was also astonished, his mouth agape, utterly shocked.

“Ah??? This is… Heavenly Authority Divine Light??? ”

“Ah???”

I told you to gain insight, not to gain insight into *this*!
